    Bean and cheese taco

I love Mockingbird! Mockingbird has two vegetarian taco options-- bean and cheese, and potato and egg. The taco tortillas are soft and buttery, and the filling is very generously portioned. The price point is very affordable for grab and go breakfast tacos, but get there early cause they will sell out! The service has always been good, and the walkup window is inviting. I recommend the bean and cheese taco to absolutely everyone reading this!

So I gave this place a try twice. I've had the chorizo & egg and the bean & cheese. I was expecting some out of the world gourmet chef tacos since each one was $6. Especially when a taco...an amazing taco can run you $3..That's about half the price of their taco. So to my surprise, my taco was pretty basic. Like I could've done a better job at home. My bean and cheese taco was super oily. I thought there would be some seasoning or herbs...just mash bean and cheese. The chorizo & egg was cool. So yea, I'm good on this place.

I got here 9am on a Friday morning and the first thing I noticed was the setup which I love. A window counter with efficient and friendly service and then a couple of sidewalk tables in a sidewalk tent-like structure (all too familiar in these covid tinged times). I love PLG and just having people milling around and ordering their tacos was really nice (also seems to feed business to Hamlet next door and visa versa which is awesome). The tacos were delicious. I got the chorizo and egg and potato and egg- it tastes exactly as advertised, fresh perfect ingredients to make a premium product. The chorizo is very mildly spicy. Each taco comes with a salsa which is a little hotter (these are all white people hot). Lastly, the packaging is excellent. Each taco packaged separately with a cute little smiley face sticker with which taco is written on the sticker.

These have to be some of the worst tasting tacos I've ever had, a true testament to bland food.

Good Taco but definitely not worth $6 dollars! I just wish it was cheaper for the size of it.

My favorite is the bean and cheese but I also really like the chorizo and haven't had a bad taco there yet.

I went on a Friday evening around 9:30pm. It was still fairly busy inside, but it was mostly people grabbing to-go orders. After ordering I snagged a spot at the counter. There's extremely limited seating, so I wouldn't bank on eating at the restaurant when it's busy. Be prepared to take your food to go. I got the Nene's Deluxe, which comes with a taco, a mulita, and an empanada - all with Birria of course. It was all delicious. The mulita was at the bottom of the box and got completely soaked with Birria. It was extremely messy to eat. Get plenty of napkins. I also got a side of fries and nacho cheese, because it was a long week and I deserved it. They had a seasonal strawberry horchata as well. This was okay. I also think I might just not love horchata in general. This meal definitely hit the spot. The Birria and consommé were top notch. I would return in a heartbeat.

I tried something different than my usual and went with the Adobada Tacos (Pork Al Pastor). The meat itself was spicy and a little rough, which leads me to believe it was maybe old meat. Instead of cubed, the pineapple was shredded which offered a nice touch. Unfortunately the actual taco got soggy by the time I ate it so I just picked out the meats and pineapple. There is plenty of avocado green sauce placed on top, which moving forward, I will request to be on the side to prevent the taco from getting soggy. Overall I probably should just stick to what I know/like so I'm willing to give this location another shot!

Our reservation was for 8:30pm, but we arrived early and Alejandra, the hostess, was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Even though she was ready to seat us, we decided to hang at the bar until the rest of our party arrived and that was the perfect move. Alkarys behind the bar was top-tier. She recommended the Siempre Reposado, and let me tell you... smooth, clean, dangerously good. If you're into tequila, that's a must. Now let's talk about the food. We ordered the quesadilla, rajas, tamales, tacos, and the queso fundido and every single dish hit. The queso fundido came out bubbling, rich, perfectly melted with that pull you want when you scoop it up. The tamales were moist and packed with flavor, wrapped beautifully and clearly made with care. The rajas had that perfect balance of roasted pepper sweetness and savory depth. The tacos? Authentic, well-seasoned, and layered with flavor, no shortcuts. Even the quesadilla stood out, crispy on the outside with that perfectly melted interior. Everything felt traditional, elevated but still true to its roots. You can taste the authenticity. Service was attentive without being overbearing, the ambiance was super casual and laid back, the kind of Brooklyn spot you pull up to for a real dinner experience, not just a quick bite. Highly recommend this place if you're out and about in Brooklyn. Definitely coming back for the tequila, the queso fundido, and round two of those tacos. I'm gonna try eating at the bar to check out the spot in the front of the house.
