i sent a MacBook in for a repair, they held it pretty much all month and still are and proceeded to say there was no updates everytime we had to call to even hear anything, they never reached out on their own, maybe once but after that no. a repair shop but no parts in the store to repair anything , poor/entire lack of communication. Avoid this place! Verizon sent me a replacement phone that locked during setup with tech support. They scheduled an appointment for me to take it to Mobile Kangaroo to unlock, assuring me it would be free since the phone was brand new. The email confirmation stated that there were no charges. When I got there, the guy said it would take 45 minutes and would cost $35 to unlock. I explained Verizon said it was no charge, but he just said, "I charge $35 to unlock a phone. Beware! This business is dishonest and doesn't honor their agreements. read more

UPDATE I found another repair option in Frisco on Coit that offered to do the same job in 15 minutes for less than half the price. ORIGINAL REVIEW Finding the store proved to be quite a challenge, compounded by the fact that there was no parking available nearby. Upon entering, I was greeted by a staff member who immediately inquired whether I had checked in. I informed him that I hadn't, and he directed me to scan a QR code displayed on the wall, which prompted me to input a variety of personal information. After I completed the check-in process, he quickly confirmed that I was indeed the sole customer in the store. Now they have my personal information so they can market to me in the future. My intent for visiting was to have the batteries replaced on both my iPhone and my iPad. I began by asking if he could assist with replacing the battery on my iPad. To my surprise, he informed me that the store did not provide that service. I found this particularly interesting and somewhat disappointing, especially since the local Best Buy offers battery replacement for iPads. Next, I inquired about the battery replacement for my iPhone. He accessed the phone's settings and noted that the battery health was at 66%. He mentioned that I should have sought replacement at 80% battery health, which felt somewhat unnecessary to point out given that I was already inquiring about a replacement. He then revealed that there would be a $35 diagnostic fee associated with the service. He explained that this fee would be credited towards the final service cost. When I asked for the total cost of the battery replacement, he quoted me $91. I clarified whether this $91 was after accounting for the $35 diagnostic fee, to which he replied no, asserting that the total for the battery replacement was indeed $91. I expressed my confusion, stating that this meant the actual cost of replacing the iPhone battery amounted to $126 -- $91 plus the $35 diagnostic fee. After an extended and somewhat frustrating back-and-forth discussion, he eventually admitted that I was correct. The final amount I would need to pay was still $91 once the service was completed, but the pricing structure remained confusing. If the employee does not clearly understand the pricing, it tells me that they may not be prepared to do the work well. To make matters worse, after our lengthy discussion, he checked their inventory only to discover that they did not have the required battery in stock. He mentioned that they could order it, estimating that it would take about five or six days for it to arrive. My trust in their service was already waning, and this revelation sealed my decision to look elsewhere. I chose to walk away from this experience, feeling that the operation was overly clumsy, disorganized, and unprofessional, leading me to doubt that I would be satisfied with the quality of their work if I proceeded with the repair. read more

Other poor reviews are incredibly accurate. They really don't understand how to run an efficient, customer centric business. Have had appointment for almost one week to get battery replaced. Show up at appointment time to learn they used their last battery yesterday. I asked why I had to have an appointment if they are not prepared, and he blamed Apple, saying they set appointments for them. I asked if they have my appointment, which he confirmed. So don't blame Apple - you knew I was coming for a battery replacement. Guess the good news is I avoided doing business with someone that clearly is subpar. read more

This the closest Apple certified repair facility and recommend by Apple support to take my two-year old Mac for battery issues. They quickly determined I needed a new battery which was covered by AppleCare. That was nine-days ago. I'm not sure where the fault lies but this level of service is unacceptable. read more

Please avoid them, go to Apple store instead. Mobile Kangaroo is pure Fraud, Apple should not misguide customers. I got a quote of around $695 from Apple to replace the Macbook screen. When I went to the Mobile Kangaroo in Frisco, they said that I have to pay $65 to get a quote for screen replacement. And I was told that it would be around $700. There was no diagnosis required to confirm the quote that Apple had already provided online. The next day I get a quote of $770 + taxes. I went to Apple Store and got the screen replaced for the original quote. I am fighting to get my money back, they wasted my time and money. read more

They were somewhat efficient - the replacement phone was to be delivered 1-2 days. However on the fifth day I texted the # asking for an update. Replied that the phone was suppose to be in that day. twenty minutes before they closed I received a text I could pick the replacement up. 1- why wasn't the replacement phone delivered to my own home? 2- Kangaroo did not ask "where would you like the replacement delivered" 3- why was it necessary for Kangaroo to handle the switch of phones?? The reason for my review is for others to be made aware of how they operate. My phone had an issue w/ the charging port. Wouldn't hold a charge & to top it off, none of the cables would work. So I needed to get my phone diagnosed for a replacement. I DID NOT do a repair. I can not speak on behalf of repairs only for a diagnosis of internal damage. They are convenient appointment availability was much quicker than most other locations and for that I was grateful however, I did not appreciate that they didn't ask me questions about the delivery or the privacy of my phone. When I brought the damaged phone back in for the switch, on that fifth day I asked him "do you want me to erase the phone now?" He replied - hold on. He walked to the back to get the new phone - which was still in the box unopened from what I could tell. He removed the SIM card tray & asked for my damaged phone. I handed him my phone, He removed my SIM card. Placed it in the new phone........ THEN placed my damaged phone in the box with out saying a word. At that point I said- "I need to erase my phone!" His response was "Apple will do that" Uhmmm how bout Scotty don't!!!! I then said " uhh yeah, I'd like to be the one to erase my phone!!!" He did give me my old phone back to let me erase it. Sooo I would recommend them if your in a crunch to get the phone diagnosed quickly for replacement, but be sure to communicate and make it clear your the customer & they are providing a service. The young guys behavior was almost like he was the authority and I had to do what he said. A bit of a power trip - maybe because they are authorized to work with Apple?? I had a cracked screen on my iPhone 13 pro. I used my apple care and had Mobile Kangaroo do the repair since it was more convenient. I thought all was good until my phone got wet two days later. The repair was done incorrectly causing the seal to fail and they wouldn't honor the repair warranty. I had to use apple care again and pay another $100 to get a new phone. I learned my lesson to only trust the actual apple store for repairs. read more

We called the Mobile Kangaroo shop named Mac Tracks at Frisco, TX, on the morning of July 31st. The guy started speaking about his repair policies like a tape recorder for a minute (probably quite busy, understandable). As soon as we asked that "Apple had already diagnosed our Mac and asked us to repair the screen, could you help", he responded with one more line "We are Apple certified technicians we don't want to serve the customer like you;" and he hung up the call. We are not sure if that guy was tired in the morning, frustrated by something else, plain rude, or beyond that, but the behavior was weird and inappropriate. If we could, we would have not even given a 1 rating here, since the concept of Customer Service was simply alien for this representative. read more

Took my phone in due to Apple recommending this repair shop as being one of the trusted authorized Apple locations. My device needed to be updated and I was told by Apple to start with, either the update needed pushed through or a full restart of the phone. I paid money to drop my phone off to be told an hour later my device was damaged and I could purchase a new one from them. Picked up my phone went to Apple and boom they updated it and it's working. Do not go here they are designed to rip you off. Take your Apple products back to Apple for fixes. read more
