I've visited this 7-Eleven many times (day & night) over the years…read more Positives: The staff (manning the cash register & restocking the shelves) is always friendly and helpful. I consider that a huge accomplishment, given my guesstimates about the low pay they're probably receiving. Negatives: It's not uncommon to discover it's closed between 11pm and 1am. The person on duty is either not evident (on the toilet? on a smoke break?) or they are there but they make some gesture that suggests that their computer system is down, or they're on a cleaning cycle, or ??????. When they are not evident, there is rarely a sign in the window telling us why they're closed, and when there is such a sign, it never says when they expect to be back. During the witching hours (11pm to 5am), it's common to find broken glass strewn around the parking lot, putting tires at risk. Possible Causes: (a) Hermosa Beach is famous as a party town, and (b) there is a fair share of hobos in/around this store, but their hobo density is not as bad as the 7-Eleven on the corner of PCH & Torrance Blvd, and that 7-Eleven doesn't have a big problem with broken glass . . . . so, maybe (a) is the more likely culprit than (b). The big question is: can 7-Eleven Corporate command/nudge/incentivize their night manager/cashier to check and sweep the broken glass strewn in/around his parking lot?

Never DoorDash anything from this location!!! Worst service ever!! I ordered very specific items:…read moreMilk, Sprite, Ice Cream & Nutter Butters. I'm pregnant & don't have the energy to pick up myself. Instead I received a bunch of random products I don't like: (Dr Pepper is my least favorite soda, I can't eat 711 cookies being a diabetic, and the milk and sprite I never received was needed to alleviate indigestion.) Whoever packed this order today 4/29 Wednesday @6pm, obviously doesn't care about the selections, or customer satisfaction. They threw a bunch of random products in the bag and stapled it. On a separate occasion they forgot the cheese pizza my husband ordered. Literally the worst 711 in town!!

I didn't really think of what I would do to use a restroom on a long drive during these times. I stopped off at your gas station and I decided to grab a coffee as well - Your employee, Jonathan, was so sweet and followed all the rules for applying gloves and his mask. In addition, he was super sweet. You are lucky to have such an amazing human working for your business during this time.

I had barely touched the door at all, and upon seeing it was locked I walked to the window where the employee was on his phone. I asked if I could make the purchase through the window or if they were fully closed. He rudely showed me his index finger as if signaling to wait a minute. I sit in front of the window for about 10 minutes as he stands there chatting on his phone while I wait, cash and ID in hand. Even a small line forms behind me of people waiting to purchase gas or other goods. The employee just shows everyone his index finger as if to say "wait a minute" while he continues to talk on his cell phone. All of a sudden, a police car pulls into the gas station and the officer approaches me. I ask her how her day is going and the employee runs out and immediately accuses me of attempted burglary on the store!!! Excuse me?!! Who attempts to burgle a store with cash in one hand and an ID in the other hand while waiting patiently in front of the window?? Even the officer is pretty confused by this situation and I demand that she be shown the security footage to prove the employee was lying. The employee stutters out excuse after excuse, and the policewoman seems to realize the situation and tells me just to go to 711 down the block. Now, not a single one of my white friends have ever been accosted in this way by this gas station, but somehow the one time I go there in years, with my fairly brown skin, the cops get called while I patiently wait? This is a racist establishment and does not represent the values we Manhattan Beach locals embody. Chevron should be ashamed for allowing someone like that to work in their establishment, and neither myself nor my family/friends will ever use this chevron again.
