The employee (older Hispanic woman) that literally tries to make everyone pay for their gas or tells you that you didn't buy anything before using the restroom is insane. Three women trying to use the bathroom including myself were all heckled for trying to use the restroom two of us already had our gas pumps going and one lady had to use the restroom really bad before buying a slushy. Walked inside to buy lotto tickets. The guy behind the counter didn't see me because he was staring at his phone. I politely say, "Hello" to get his attention. He starts to get up then sees the lotto slips in my hands and says, "No, we're closed," and sits back down to look at his phone some more. I am surprised considering they're a 24hr 7-11 with doors unlocked and other people shopping inside. So, just to make sure, I ask, "You're closed?" He says, "Yes, we don't sell lotto after 9." I say, "But it's 8:45." He shakes his head, saying. "We're closed. You have to come back at 6am" Rude and lazy. Whomever was working at 8:45pm on Thursday, March 20 deserves to be fired, not just for how he treated me but for staring at his phone the whole time and paying absolutely zero attention to the other people inside the store. I love this place! Got my car smoked today. It was super quick! While you wait there is a nice patio with umbrella's (shade when it is hot) and magazines to occupy you while you wait. Greetings, I took my car here after hearing grinding noises when I turned & braked my car as well. I came to this shop on a recommendation & I expressed to the owner I wanted a check up on this issue & a general check up since my car is older & I wanted to see if it was worth fixing, or attempting to sell as is. He agreed & I left my car there. I missed one call from him & I called back shortly to no response. Then I call again & someone else tells me he is on lunch break. Then he calls again, I answered when he told me the brakes were worn down, which makes sense but I had them replaced not long ago & leaves me to figure that there is a deeper issue on rotors alignment somehow (cars aint my specialty). I asked if he could figure out what's causing the premature wear down of brakes but then immediately tells me he replaced the brakes with the top USA made models over $600 cost. I was shocked because I did not approve this work & now have to pay for an upgrade on a car I might part with soon. There was no going back, everything had been installed & old ones discarded. I am extremely disappointed with the communication. I do not think English is an issue here. I told him my intentions & he gave me all the "OKs" to tell me he understood. When someone tells you OK you typically don't repeat yourself over & over. I only regret not saying do not complete any work until you have my approval. By the way, this is a high-end area so if you have the money I am sure they will do a great job, but people like myself just do not have the money to "throw around" like this. Maybe he took me for being ignorant about cars & made a quick buck but I do not think so. Finally found a clean, friendly and professional smog check shop in the South Bay. I had been using Aloha Smog, but with the ownership change, it really went downhill. This 76 Station can get a bit crowded, but Sam is great and the waiting area is a nice little alcove next to the shop. It has a 7-11 if you want refreshments and there are current magazines to read while you wait. Just go during the week if you want to avoid a wait. Sam gives you a hard copy of the smog test as well as transmitting it to the DMV. Great service! read more

This smog check station is not very honest and I do not recommend going there. I ended up getting the smog check anyway because I didn't have enough time at that point to go to the competitor. Got my smog check done here... Super quick and all of the employees are helpful and friendly. I overheard one of the employees (I think it might have been the manager) was on the phone trying to assist a seemingly frantic customer on the phone for at least 10 minutes, and he was very patient and tried to help the customer to the best of his abilities. It's always a plus in my book when employees go out of their way to help customers. I also liked that this place has an outdoor waiting area with magazines, chairs, and SHADE (necessary during the summer months). The waiting area was actually quite relaxing, and I would pick this outdoor waiting area any day over a confined, indoor waiting room that makes me feel like I'm being institutionalized. read more

SAM THE CON MAN! Avoid at your peril. Over charged for maintenance for years. finally confront him when I have solid evidence and he tries to lie his way out. Really wanted to trust their service as they were polite, relatively quick at returning your vehicle and local. Unfortunately after receiving my 6th bill that was much larger than expected I decided to investigate. Over charged for parts in excess of 300% and labor by 200%. A $43 part and a 10 minute fix escalated into a $580 bill. Two separate local auto repair shops quoted $150 including tax. Sorry to report this but I want people to be more vigilant when taking their vehicles here. Such a shame as i tried very hard to trust this man and his work. Now regret that i'm $1000's out of pocket on overcharged work these past 3 years. read more

I had bought some replacement headlamp units at Pep Boys which, after a closer look at what is entailed to replace them, I determined would be better installed by a mechanic. This 76 gas station is right on Pacific Coast Hwy, only a mile from my office, so I stopped in, met Carlos the mechanic and Sam the owner and they had my car in a service bay with new headlights installed at a fair labor price, in less than fifteen minutes. They even cleaned my car's battery posts, perhaps adding a few more starts to the life of the battery. Nice folks, I will return when I need service or oil changes. They are ASE certified mechanics, which is a sign of accreditation and professionalism. read more

I read like 20 of these and used everyone as a way to help me make my decision on using this place to get my car worked on..... biggest mistake ever!!!! Sam the Scam held my car for over a week, said he did work, charges me $500. I drove off the lot and the check engine light comes on not 5 minuets off this lot!!!!! Not only did he not do any work, even tho he said he replaced sensors on my vehicle. He did not!!! I took my car to a way better place. Said nothing was done and fixed my car in 1 day. I'd never stopped at this gas station/repair shop before and stopped in for an oil change. I also had a slow leak in one of my tires, which they "repaired" - but the wrong way. I've had slow leaks before and the repairs have always been done on the inside of the tire. This station/repair shop simply plugged the leak up from the outside of the tire! Two months later the tire began leaking again. I took the car back and the manager?/owner? said he plugged the tire from the outside because it was cheaper. I told him I should have been give an option of plugging the tire from the outside or inside. He had no response. The manager?/owner? did offer (without me asking) to give me a refund (of $20) for the shoddy tire repair job, which, of course, I accepted. read more
