Convenient location on Aviation and Marine in Manhattan Beach area. The gas station has a good number of pumps and the store is always clean and has a nice layout. There's a car was at this location as well. You can buy the car wash at the pump while you get your gas or buy it inside, they have a few levels of the car wash to choose from. The car wash is working most of the time but seems to get stuck or stops working on frequent occasion. The car wash can be a pain sometimes due to the non-intuitive way of entering the car wash while there's a car still drying on the other side. Some people will stop way before they should so the car wash can't handle this then resets. Also, getting out on to Aviation from the station can always be harrowing during commuting rush hour and the turn onto Marine is One-Way (right turn only) but many drivers decide or try to turn left, holding up everyone. It's usually not an issue unless there's someone waiting for 10 minutes for a spot to present itself when they can turn left. read more

Hazardous and unsafe. Filled up here, pump 5 spewed fuel all over me and my car. Pump 4 was being cleaned up probably for the same reason. Either go to another place or be very careful when you get gasoline. Super expensive too. read more

I love Chevron gas. Yes it is expensive. But this particular station has one of the cheapest prices in comparison with other Chevrons in the area. I have one major caveat.....what is the deal with all the unnecessary steps when swiping your card at the pump to pay for gas?!?! No I'm not a Vons club member. No I don't want a car wash! No I don't want a receipt! Can a girl pls just pump gas and leave? This is for all Chevrons across the board. I realize this because once I had to pump gas at Mobil and realized they don't have all these shenanigans. I pump gas and once in a while I feel like getting a receipt printed. Then I leave. Done. Otherwise, Chevron gas is great for my car. read more

Car wash left soap all over my car and I had to have it hand washed at another place. Manager wasn't there to refund money so I came back the next day, and she was very very rude! She said she would refund the $11 but to never use the car wash again! I said that a good manager would apologize and call to have it repaired but she said 'nobody else has complained!!' I took photos of my car covered with soap and she refused to even look at them. No wonder that location has such a high turnover with employees! I will never be back there, not even if I need gas. read more

I fill up here weekly and appreciate the location, the new / clean facilities, and the fact that not only do the squeegees work but the station uses windshield cleaner rather than plain ol' water. While not a gas station connoisseur, I like this station as much as somebody could like a gas station. read more

I have to bump up the star status here because of the car wash. It's so difficult to find a quick and cheap drive through wash in the southbay, but this chevron has it! Getting in and out is a pain though. Seems you're always going the wrong way in, or out, so be patient. CA traffic woes in effect. Other than that, great place for gas, coffee, and to free your paint from the layer of grit! read more

I usually do not write reviews, but I think people should know this before you go to this chevron. I went to this gas station when I still had 2 gallons left in my car. My car can only hold 13 gallons and the maximum I've ever had it hold was 13.4 gallons, but this was when I really pushed it to the limit. They cheated me off with 2 gallons extra! I wasn't even on my emergency tank. I've been to many chevrons and this is the first time they did this. read more

Worst customer service possible. I got scratch off lottery tickets at work and brought them in. First the woman threw a fit because I didn't know to scratch off a barcode at the bottom. Then she threw a fit because on the tickets was bent and was giving me grief that the scanner couldn't read it. Ended up throwing the ticket back at me and told me too bad. If that's how she handles scratch off lottery tickets, I can't even imagine how bad it is over normal things. read more

They have a good selection of junk food, drinks and coffee inside the store. Other than that I would go to AM PM or Costco Gas instead. The gas prices are way too high at Chevron. I've used the car wash once and it left soapy mud on the rear end of my car. Bad Chevron. read more

This car wash place is automatic but close at 8pm,I got totally Fxxx up when after Paid, driving in ; didn't work at all!No sign to let u stop wherever should be; I was back & forward my car a little many times ! Just not wash u at all! Drove out talked the Indian owner he just said " do u need refund"? Means : "just go away who cares ; I'm busy no time to out to check & help; very rude , very careless !!! Soooooooo; I will never ever go !!! Cus if you dare challenge ur the automatic wash with who cares the Indian owner by ur time & money ; you can go wash ur car! It automatic high tech machine ! the only downside to this gas station is the high gas prices. it's very spacious and clean! it's never too crowded maybe because the prices are high but this place gives complimentary free air so if you ever need some this is the perfect place! there is a huge selection of items in their store and a very convenient location! read more

Very clean and convenient (on my way home) the employees are very nice here, but the gas is higher here than the surrounding area chevrons, so I only purchase Lotto and Fountain drinks at this location, just a bit to pricey. read more

Gas prices are high but I guess that the price you pay for location & convenience. They have large clean well stocked restrooms a great coffee bar selection (no add ins like cinnamon though) and semi-fresh pre-packaged pastries. They also sell beer & wine at this location as well as various goods like motor oil, shampoo, Tylenol, chips etc. everything is clean & well organized. Around 9-10 pm they lock up the store & you have to place your order through a small window. It was fun sending the lady all over the store for various munchies. She was very good natured & compliant with our requests. read more

This is a great Chevron/Extra Mile location. It's brand new (2012) and super clean, inside and out. The staff is friendly and the selection of food and beverages inside is excellent. The only downside (not their fault) is that you can't continue to travel northbound on Aviation when you leave - you can only go south out of the lot or westbound on Marine. read more

Pumps are usually out of receipt paper and the car wash is usually closed. If the car wash is open there is no soap and your cash just gets sprayed with water. read more

The car wash quit working midwash with the wash arm blocking me in. My car was covered in soap when I was finally freed. The employee response was that they are not responsible for anything because there is a sign. DO NOT USE THE CARWASH!! Lot's of other choices for gas in the area, like the Mobile one block away. read more

Today they had some kind of malfunction with one of the pumps, so I went inside and got a nasty attitude from the person behind the counter, I don't know, maybe he was having a bad day. But I will never go inside anymore, if they will have issue at the pump again, I will simply drive to the next gas station. read more

Hawthorne is located right off the 405 Rosecrans exit going west. The price is better and you can get right back on the 405 south from the signal at the Costco exit. With hours until 10 PM during the week, there's little to no waiting in line to fill up. This is a no brainer for anyone in the South Bay living fairly close to the 405, 110, or 105. Since they always have staff working during business hours, it's a lot safer than a lot of gas stations in Gardena, Lawndale, Hawthorne or nearby areas at night. No people harassing you for spare change or trying to pump gas for you. Credit and membership only eliminates many problems. This gas station is known for having decent prices on gas and it does, but don't drive hours to get here. The prices are good. Lots of taxis and Ubers from LAX use it and that is what it get crowded. You are best going at night. It is super clean. The mini mart is great. They have everything a traveler needs, but has forgotten. They also have lots of snacks and junk food. If you are starving there is no place to eat nearby after 10:00 PM. You can get pizza and hots dogs there at all hours. Are they great--of course not, it is a gas station, but they are quite eatable and there are lots of drinks to get there as well. The interior is very clean. The service is quite nice.

91 octane gas review only. Not about anything else related to this business…read more I bought my car brand new in 2019 and take good care of it. I still go to the dealer for service. In the last year, I have noticed my engine makes a knocking sound. I buy 91 suoer unleaded no matter where I go but I have gone out of my way to get G&M's gas for years. I recently got 91 gas at Costco. Not only did the knocking sound end immediately but my car drives very smoothly with a very pleasant acceleration and doesn't seem to work as hard. I have always thought 91 gas is similae everywhere; however, I have to say, my car's performance enhancement using Costco 91 versus G&M's 91 is very noticeable. I am heart broken. I am a G&M loyalist but perhaps its quality is subpar. I have no other issues with my car to cause knocking and it stopped immediately. I am in my 3rd day of using Costco 91 gas, and I will have to make G&M a backup rather than the norm for 91 gas going forward. I do not believe it is premium gas or Costco has magic gas. Test G&M against other gas for even burn & performance. From a positive standpoint, they generally keep the gas station area clean with squeegies and window. Cleaners and paper towels and trash cans. I love the location, pricing for debit payments and general in and out flows.

At the Shell station, there's a store called Rocket (unlike the Shell location on Rosecrans Ave & Inglewood Ave.) You can walk inside and pay for your gas (or outside at the pump), buy some snacks, drinks, buy yourself a few lotto tickets/scratchers, hey you might be lucky. It's very clean and the worker there is friendly. The outside area of the gas station is a bit tight to get into the other side near Inglewood Ave. I recommend driving towards the back part of the Shell station (where Subway is located) if you're trying to get to either side of the station to fill up. If you're entering on the Manhattan Beach Blvd side and you're trying to go to the right part of the station, you won't be able to get through when there's a car parked there filling up. You'd have to go around to the left side. They also have a water/air station nearby. They have 2 different options to fill up: Cash or Credit/Debit. Only difference is Cash payment is about $0.10 cents cheaper. If you want to maximize your gas savings, be sure to shop at Ralph's/Food 4 Less stores and use your rewards card to rack up fuel points and use it towards your next fill up. If you don't have one, sign up for free at the Ralph's/Food 4 Less stores or sign up on the Fuel Rewards program on the Shell website and get savings that way too. Especially since gas prices are expensive in Cali, I make sure to use my fuel points and save. I love the fact that it's super close by to where I live. Very convenient and easy access.
