Fortunately this location is on the way back from my gym, so it's very convenient for me to gas up here. It's best to come here in the mornings, since later in the day it can get pretty busy. They did add a few more gas pumps over the past couple of years, so there's rarely a long line of cars in the morning. And sometimes you can pull right up to a pump if you're lucky and time it right. It's simply one of the best gas stops around down, right off the freeway with the off ramp and on ramp in front! There a lots of gas pumps, so getting in and out is generally quick and hassle free even during busier times. They have expanded number of pumps by about 6 so it helps a lot! It was odd to have come here and find the station almost empty! Probably because we came at an opportune time when people were at work on a Friday at around 10:30 am. But it did look and feel odd. For weeks that added up to months, we were without access to this gas station at our local Costco. Boy, are we excited to see that it finally opened up again, now with additional stalls! There are twenty-eight gasoline pumps now, to be accurate, presented as four lanes of four and four lanes of three! Once we returned from vacation, this was one of our first stops for gas and groceries, and there were only a few cars here, reminding us of the Costo gas station we visited near Vegas. Either the additional pumps have worked wonders on the queue, or people are unaware that this station has reopened. Speaking of the queue, I'm curious to see how it develops. As this gas station has reopened, there has been no sign of the previous Mario Kart track that guided drivers toward the gas pumps. There were even cars parked in the spaces where said Mario Kart track used to be. We'll see what happens! Currently, you access the pumps directly from Hindry or the parking lot. Absolutely love this gas station. I've been a couple times, the latest was on a Sunday evening and I didn't have to wait too long. There were three pumps on either side of mine. There's a small employee booth so it's easy to get friendly service if you need additional assistance. The price was about .50 cheaper than my local area and it was conveniently close to the 405. Everyone already knows that Costco has the best and most economical gas in town. Normally I would complain about the long lines but the way this Costco was set up I really couldn't complain at all. They had gates up so you knew exactly which way to go and there were two attendants out there directing traffic. There were lots and lots of cars but again everything was so well organized that all went smoothly. My car was on dead E, literally I was using reserve gasoline . I don't usually let that happen but somehow this time I did. I thought I'd spend between $120-$130 but it was "only" $100 on the dot. Not saying $100 is cheap but it was certainly a huge difference from what I normally pay. The main reason to go here is the cash back on your Costco card and the lower prices. But, don't go if you are in a hurry, want to clean your windshield or use the restroom. There is a restroom available inside the Costco but you'll have to finish gassing up and go find a parking spot to use it. As most people know, it's a gas pump station only. 22 pumps if I counted correctly. They have created a new way to get in with metal guards setup through the parking lot. Only one way to get in now, at the far end of the parking lot. Best to go before or after Costco opens. Early morning or after 7:30pm seem to be decent times to get through relatively quickly. It would go a lot quicker if people would just get their CC ready while they are waiting for a pump. Way too many people wait until they get there, then dig in their pocket or purse, then go to the pump. But, we'll keep going because the prices are less than any other station close to our home. For nearly a decade, I was a regular at the Hawthorne Costco gas station. Today was my first time back post-COVID. Gasoline prices were excellent relative to other outlets. There were few cars in the queues, however, and I found out why. What had been a great approach to the pumps has been destroyed in favor of amusement park style queuing with portable fencing and poor directional signage. What did they do to re-create such chaos at Costco gas here?!?!? They had it functioning great for 6-9 months. They took away a crap load of parking to make 2 lanes that snaked through the lot for fuel. NO TRAFFIC JAM, NO ROAD RAGE! People were able to get fuel without blocking all the car dealership traffic. Now they closed down the second lane for no reason. It just sits there empty while the street is so clogged up, normal traffic is at a stand still, people are honking, and the favorite middle finger is being brandished constantly by people trying to get through. It is the cheapest gas in the area if you have a Costco membership. I was working in the area and needed gas, so I filled up here. It was mid-day so there was no line, I just pulled up to an empty pump. Like every other Costco location, you have your pick of regular or super, no mid grade, but I don't know if any cars require mid grade these days.
