This review is for their Lab service located at the back of the store. I made an online appointment for fasting blood draw at this Lab Corp. It was my first time at this location but my husband said that he found it to be convenient. I arrived early for my appointment and checked in with my phone. My name was called on time and I was in and out pretty quickly. Blood draw was painlessly done and I don't see any bruising. This Lab Corp seemed popular as I saw a steady stream of patients arriving and/or waiting for their turn. I heard one of the phlebotomists tell someone that they were totally booked for today, so it's best to make an appointment online ahead of time. I'll be back near year. read more

Ever since Sarif the former pharmacy manager left this location, ALL aspects of service have become sub-par. Lack of customer service, and general civil attitudes towards customers. LONG hold times on phone to address issues and screw ups on incorrectly filled orders, and I could go on. read more

Friendly service but pharmacy takes 20-50minutes to get your medications that are ready for pickup. I had to get out of the drivethru because they don't accept Apple Pay in that line. I asked if we had a card on file and she said no. I asked if it will take a long time to me seen when I come inside and she looked at the queue of customers lined up indoors. She said it depends. I asked if she's asking me to leave the drive through after 50 minutes to wait for another 50 minutes. She then said come to the window. Which I did. A pharmacy tech rang me up and asked if I wanted to use the carry on file. The card on file?!? Ohhhhh my gosh. Walgreens fix your system. It only takes 2-5 usually at my main pharmacy. You know the three letter red and white competitor just a block away. This is torture coming to Walgreens. read more

I think maybe rhey fired their entire old staff and rehired new staff because they went from consistently great to absolutely terrible over the past month. You can't reach them by phone and lines are so long now and they are all of the sudden horribly rude and incompetent. It's very weird. They were great not long ago. It's so confusing. I was so enlightened today going to Walgreens. The pharmacist assistant named Mia greeted me with a big smile and was so helpful. Perfect customer service!!! Despite watching the drive through and the walk up line , she stayed sweet and efficient. Then the clerk at the front was so helpful! They had such great Christmas wrapping paper too! I was very disappointed to learn last week that Shereif Sorial no longer works at Walgreens. My entire family is in mourning - he has been an essential part of our family's healthcare team for years and years. My kids are grown and on their own but they have appreciated being able to reach out to Shereif if they need a script transferred or for vaccines. I haven't changed my ratings for Walgreens because I have just learned about this change. But I fear the outstanding service we consistently received from Shereif will be a thing of the past. Every Walgreens pharmacy, including this one, has no concept of time or sense of urgency. Scheduled an appointment for a vaccination at 7:30. Called in at 7:10 or so to make sure they had the vaccine we needed (a previous Walgreens we went to didn't have the vaccine in stock even when they promised us they did). ANYWAYS. Nobody else was here waiting besides me and my wife. It took almost 25 minutes for them to find the damn vaccine. And the whole time they were chit chatting it up in the back room. And oh. If you follow up asking how much longer you have to wait for a SCHEDULED appointment WITH NOBODY ELSE IN LINE, they WILL give you attitude. read more

Had my prescription transferred to the Manhattan location because they said they had medication in stock and I was completely out of meds. Was told to pick it up the next day 2pm. Called the next day early to see if it was ready and was told by Sierra that my order was placed too late and will arrive Monday? What? I asked why I wasn't informed of that the prior day when they said they had the medication. She put the blame on me somehow and was rude and dismissive! After I asked if she could help me find a Walgreens that had my medication in stock she said she was busy with other patients but to go sit down and she would she what she could do. (like I'm not a patient) This is not how you handle customers that need help. If a mistake is made, own up to it and move on. I have ordered my Christmas cards from here the past 3 years and have always had a good experience. This year however, the cards came out super poor quality and I ordered the same card stock I do every year, and used a very high-quality professional photo like I do every year. Covid booster email says to "bring a copy of your Covid vaccine card". I brought a picture of my vaccine card and they can not provide me with a card. I have to come another time so they can stamp it. But the email says a copy is sufficient. I wish I knew you had to bring the original, as the email says a copy! Waste of my time. read more

Dropped off my Rx over 2hrs ago. Tech said it would be done in 30 min. Just got back. And IT IS NOT DONE!!!! It wasn't busy when I got here. Why isn't the Rx ready? Wow. It took them 4 minutes after I arrived to get it done!? Too late. Should have started 2hrs ago. Not 4 min. ago. Once again- dropped off my Rx 2 hrs ago. They said it would be done by now. But of course, as soon as I pull in they need 10 more minutes. Why?????? Then they tell me to pull around since I am in the drive through. What is it? I sent my disposable cameras 2 weeks ago now and I still haven't gotten them back. I've called 3 times for a status update and no one knows where they are. I understand that WALGREENS sends them to a different company to get them processed, but what I don't understand is why no one can tell me the status update. I asked the manager to call the company to see if she can get me a status update and she refused to do it because "it's too hard." She says they are processing and on the way, but it's way passed due, they should be ready by now. And a worker I've talked to several times about this issue was very kind to help me but she also had concerns as to why my photos aren't ready. The staff was not helpful besides that one woman who has helped me/felt my frustrations. I'm very disappointed in the costumer service. And the fact that I have to call the second hang company myself because the manager won't help me. UPDATE: I called the second hand company and getting help from them to see how my photos are doing WASNT HARD AT ALL. However, they don't even see my photos in their system. And the woman who helped me is kindly looking for them and figuring out where they could be because they say they were sent out by WALGREENS but no where in the system can she find the status on them. I bring in my prescription today and let Sharif, the pharmacist know that I'll be waiting in store for it to be filled. Sherif tells me, 1.) NO, I CANNOT WAIT IN-STORE for this drug to be filled. He tells me that Walgreens doesn't allow "waiters" for my controlled medication, period, and this has always been so. 2.) He says it is 'Walgreens long-standing policy' to ALSO require a 2 hour wait MINIMUM to pick up this type of medication and has been this way "since forever" This is a flat out LIE. And now I'm pissed. If it's a new policy-Fine. I can deal, but it's not. If the wait is extra long today--Fine. I will cope. But don't lie to me and blame it on a company policy that doesn't exist. If he is right, it means that every other Walgreens is in a heap of legal trouble bc the only store enforcing these policies is Sherifs. If that is the case, he deserves a raise and apology from me. I hope customers know to take their business elsewhere, and that this is a store-specific/employee-specific issue rather than a Walgreens-wide issue. I deserve an explanation and an apology. As long as Sherif is behind the pharmacy counter and hasn't issued me an apology or response with further care/explanation, I will never do business at this location again. I like this Walgreens! This one is brand new - opened up about two months ago - so everything is nice and clean and in order. The employees were all wearing "I heart Manhattan Beach" t-shirts, and the ones I ran into were very friendly and helpful. I didn't know Walgreens sold fresh whole fruit! This one had a nice display next to the register. They also have a drive-thru pharmacy, which is nice if you just have to pick up a prescription and don't want to get out of your car. 5 stars for a nice Walgreens... finally! read more

I have been coming to the Manhattan Beach Walgreens for many years. Since they opened. I don't usually leave reviews but, I must in this situation. The pharmacist Sharif has bent over backwards for me month after month. He is very personable and goes the extra mile and honestly, I have never ever been treated this well from any previously visited pharmacy. I had to add this because I have read other reviews about this pharmacy that are not fair. Additionally, this pharmacist is not the only one who deserves recognition, they all do. I just have to add that if everything about you and your doctor is on the up and up, then you have nothing to fear. If something is amiss, just don't come here. Gary read more

I went to several Target, Big Lots, Dollar Tree, Rite Aid, CVS and Walgreens today (Monday 12/30/14) in search of discounted Christmas items. The day after Christmas, most stores had 25% off, which isn't motivating. Right now, most stores have 50% off, which isn't too bad. One CVS @ 8985 Venice Blvd touts 90% off right now already, so you can get candies for under $0.10 and boxes of candies and cookies for under $0.50, as well as wrapping paper rolls for around $0.50 too. I sort of feel that 70% off or more is the sweet spot for discounts where people start to buy stuff they really don't need, but can't pass up a bargain. I went into this Walgreens looking for heavy Christmas stocking holders for the mantle with a hook... and this is the only place I found 'em for $10 less 50% off today, so they were $5 each, which isn't spectacular, but is reasonable and fair to buy now, store 'em away and bring them back out every Christmas. read more
