My daughter came to see us at a hotel in Redondo Beach yesterday and said to us that she was having tire issues and she was a little worried about driving all the way back to LA with a sign on a dashboard that said tire pressure. So I said go on Yelp and find a place close that will help you whether there's a gas station or something else. She went to see Rudy at Firestone in Redondo Beach and wrote me later and said he was the nicest man he didn't charge her thing and fixed her tire pressure on all four tires and made sure she was good. Complete disregard of our time. Took our car in and it did not move. Bo, the mechanic, admitted that he didn't even look at the car. TWO HOURS. No phone call to let us know. When we walk in is not the time to tell us. A phone call is common courtesy. Bo looked us in the eye and said "no, I don't think I need to apologize to you". Wow. My family has come here for 20 years, so trusted them to check my AC. I called around noon today and they were able to get me an appointment at 2pm with a warning that if there's a leak, it needs to be fixed before anything else. Great, fine. I dropped the car off just before 2p and was told it would be about 2 hours. I wasnt expecting that long but whatever, I took an uber back home in the meantime. 4pm hits and I head back to get the car. Mind you, there was no update or call in the meantime so I assume there was no leak and it's good to go. The mechanic came out and asked if I had an extended warranty...I said yes with the dealer but they'd only check it for free; the service would still cost money. He said I should just take it there because the repair would cost thousands of dollars. Repair? So there *is* a leak? He said "I don't know." So you didn't actually look at the car? "No." Two hours later and *they didnt even pop the hood to check for a leak.* He kept saying he's the only mechanic, which I understand , and that I should go to the dealership instead but I tried to make clear that the problem is that I left my car here for absolutely no reason, didn't even get a call to say they were behind. *That's* good, even decent customer service. He kept insisting everything was fine because "do doctors ever see you on time?" (Ridiculous point to bring up, but at least the nurses check my vitals and tell me they're behind- can't say the same here so there is no comparison.) If you're that backed up, don't take same day appointments. If the person making the appointment doesn't know you're that behind, that's poor management and I do deserve an apology. He said he had no reason to apologize for keeping my car for two hours with no updates and without looking at it which three people out of five disagree with. The manager said it was "on him" but still did not apologize. If you want returning, loyal customers- don't act this way and at least *look* at the car. And yes it's always about this- if I had been my stepdad this never would have happened. Complete waste of time, energy, and for nothing. I felt so disrespected. read more

Guess what? Sunday morning flat tire ugh! I called Firestone and spoke with Cesar - he said come on down. Quick assessment big screw in my tire and can't repair. Cesar and Firestone Crew hooked me up right away. Tire was in stock and replaced within one hour. I really appreciate their efficient and friendly service. Also, new tire, but I got a nice discount for applying for card. This is a large wide open facility, bathroom very clean. 10 out of 10 and I highly recommend this business and team. read more

I dropped my car off to get my brakes changed. And upon their little $10 inspection they managed to round up $6,000 in repairs!!!! For my 2015 vehicle with 60,000 mi. I didn't panic. I just asked them to lower my vehicle and return it. And get a second opinion. I took it just a few miles inland and they were able to change my brakes and polish my rotors saving hundreds of dollars!!! I remember bringing a car to the same location years ago, and they were able to gouge for a few non-urgent maintenance. 6000 would be literally a full Restoration on my vehicle. I wouldn't say my car is in perfect condition, however, there were things that were non-urgent that can be addressed over time. I found a lovely shop inland that could break down the cost and maintain my vehicle and it's still running to this day and looking gorgeous!! I feel bad for little old ladies on a budget, the single moms like myself who walk in for routine maintenance and are set back months on bills!!!! Because of places like this. These people are crooks!!! Corporate thieves!! Find yourself a good independent mechanic. They are still out there. read more

If I spend a few hundred dollars on new tires I expected valve stem caps to be on there, they were not. I asked one of the techs as I was driving out about a couple of valve stem caps for my new tires and he said sorry we don't have any extras. Extras? I got the two rear tires on my Honda S2000 replaced today. The whole process was easy. Firestone completed the replacement quickly and the checkout experience was also very quick. Its been a while since I've been here but still felt the need to leave a review. Who knows maybe their brake services are better. Anyhow, I complained about my brakes squeaking. This is after they replaced my brakes and rotors. To fix the problem they suggested I upgrade the brakes for an extra charge. I've had to bring my truck to this place three times already regarding the brakes. So I spent the extra money to "get it over with." New brakes shouldn't squeak when new. I felt a little ripped off. Why sell me brakes that squeak in the first place???? read more

We have been going here for years with 3 cars, and now 4. I will be honest. Not every employee has the same attitude here. However, it is our second time in the last few months replacing parts on a car my son inherited ($$$). I really appreciated Caesar listening to me and nearly honoring a price match of another mechanic that could do the job, but not until a week later. Not only did he come very close to the price, he took care of it the same day. These small concessions make you feel your hard-earned money and loyalty is valued. I popped a tire on my Subaru Forrester pulling into a parking lot. I had 30k miles on the car and was also overdue for servicing. No way would I go back to Subaru they are WAY overpriced. I went to a place in my neighborhood and the price for off-brand tires and servicing was xcessive. Last year I had the a/c on my serviced at Firestone and the price was a lot less than Subaru and it's still keeping my car cool. So I went to Firestone and Jason was very helpful. He helped me pick out a set of tires that were a great price. He also advised me that if I could wait a few days they were having a sale and I could save an additional $100. So I made an appointment and brought my car in and I'm happy with my new tires and with the servicing and I saved a lot of $$$!. So for now on Firestone is the place and Jason is my guy! read more

I have loved Firestone for years so this breaks my heart but I've just had too many marginal experiences recently - and the last one put me in danger. I have been with them over a decade along with intermittently going to Beachside auto, however the owner passed away and I have been using Firestone exclusively for past several years. They've had lots of good moments, but they have seemed to deteriorate recently. Last incident I went in because my car was bucking at stop lights feeling like it was going to die and an unsavory noise was coming from the engine. They called me a few hours later and told me "we can't find anything wrong with your car." I said, "did anyone drive it" "oh, sure,yeah" I felt pretty confident that was not true or else he wouldn't sound uncertain and he'd know that the car was shaking. When I picked it up, the counter guy said, very condescendingly, " you know we can't fix anything until there's a light on. Bring it back when the light goes on, and we will be able to help you out." (Give me a break. The advice is "drive it until it gets much worse!?!") I took it elsewhere, and the first thing they had me do was drive it with the mechanic in the car. Within one block, he said "oh yeah you've got problems - let's see what it is." They fixed them the next day, and I drove home a smooth riding car by the end of the day. And that's without a light going on. Something is wrong here - between the inability to discover the problem, and not being straight with me, and possibly risking my safety I just can't recommend them anymore. read more

As far as I'm concerned they don't even get one star. I set an appointment up yesterday to go in at 8 AM this morning to have two tires put on and an alignment. Charlie told me to bring itI arrived at 8 AM two people ahead of me in line and I mention to the gentleman I have an appointment at eight. He told me to fill out this envelope leave my key and it'll be taken care of. He It would be ready at 10:30 I arrived just a few minutes ago and the car was not finished. The key was still in the dropbox! What was the point of setting an appointment and Dropbox? What a JOKE!! I left and just couldn't believe that happened. The worst customer service EVER!! read more

Props to Firestone for taking care of my newly acquired, used vehicle. I noticed the car was pulling to the left, nothing severe but very obvious. Originally submitted a ticket to the dealership and was a bit surprised to hear they wanted to charge me for as I believe it should have been addressed during the testing prior to releasing it to me. I called Firestone and spoke to Manny who had same day availability and brought it in. His team quickly confirmed alignment was off, and within 60 minutes I was out the door with the alignment corrected, a 1 yr warranty and....the cost was 1/3 of the price of the dealer!! Thanks Manny. Had a flat repaired by Firestone and a few days later our tire pressure sensor light came on and we realized there was a slow leak coming from Firestone's patch I came to RB Firestone and the technician confirmed that the leak is from their failed patch, and that I'd need a replacement. He got Manny, who seemed to be the acting manager at the time? Manny told me that since it's a Continental tire, not Firestone, he cannot do anything besides air it up and send me on my way. I thought this was weird since they botched the repair and also sell Continental tires so I asked his name - Manny got super uncomfortable and told me he won't tell me his name, and asked me to leave the store. He ended up actually storming out of his own store, and slamming the glass doors behind him The original tire tech, came in to deescalate the situation. He ended up sending us to the Manhattan Beach Firestone who was way more helpful. If you're reading this, the Manhattan beach location is only a few min away and a world more helpful. Horrible customer service and horrible service. They knew that my vehicle wouldn't be done on time and they waited until 10 min before closing to tell me about it. Charlie is horrible at customer service, you can tell that he can't process half of what you say to him, and his responses to anything are even worse. When I finally got my vehicle back, it was filled with their trash, oil soaked towels and old used rubber gloves, it was disgusting. Still the work that was supposed to have been done right the 2nd time around was still wrong and I had to go to another mechanic. These guys are turds, go elsewhere. read more

They honored the life time alignment that I paid at the other Firestone location in Long Beach which is closed down forever. They are efficient and honest. However they don't price match which is fine but i have to go with the lowest offer. Wish they'd be more flexible. But overall i would recommend them and go back for oil change. read more

2 hours to have a battery installed. Two bolts! A blind man would have it done in 15 minutes. Firestone Fail. Husband brought the car in for a 9am appointment to have a battery installed. 945 am the Firestone guy calls ME to say I need a battery. What?!? Isn't that why we brought the car in? I asked why he was calling me when my husband was sitting right in front of him in the lobby. "oh, he is? let me go see" SMH. Another hour to install the battery. What is the point of making a 9am appointment to swap batteries? Cleared the bill at 11 am. Ridiculous. Will not be going back. read more

First time here asked to check R/F tire because the low pressure warning popped up. Added air to the tire and I was good to go. Ten days later, same issue showed 25 lbs in same tire. One of the mechanics (young guy) took a closer look and found a very small puncture between the treads. I was told it could be repaired and it would be a couple hours because they were backed up. I got a call that the tire was patched and picked up the car. Price was reasonable and there are no more problems. I'm very satisfied with the results. read more

Had a flat tire this morning. Drove in to get it fixed before 8am. The front desk guy walked around and was doing paper work for 10 mins before he even asked what I was there for (I was the Only one there). After I told him I had a mail in my tire and that I need a patch, he told me that it would be at the end of day or possibly tomorrow. I told him it shouldn't take more than 10 mins right? And he said yeah but we have cars that are here that are before you. Mind you those cars where getting actual work done. Anytime I go to a TIRE shop, they just do a quick patch and I'm on my way. He didn't even look at it. He was the most sluggish guy with no care in the world. When I went to a different mechanic, with 15 cars to do, they came right out and fixed it. They also couldn't believe this Firestone guy would make me drop off my car to fix a simple patch. What a joke. Wasted time. Never will I ever think of going to this place again. read more
