I didn't see any staff members in the store at all and then I went to self checkout which made life easy on getting what I needed, paying for it and being out the door. The store itself seem clean and seemed easy to find what I was looking for. The pharmacy itself wasn't open but it was after 6:00 p.m. on a Saturday so that could have been why. From the second we walked in, we were met with an attitude that was cold, dismissive, and openly rude. Asking simple questions felt like we were committing some kind of offense. Instead of basic professionalism, we were treated like an inconvenience, like our presence alone was a problem. The tone, the body language, the lack of courtesy, all of it was unnecessary and completely unacceptable. What made this experience even worse is that it did not feel like an isolated moment of bad service. It felt personal, hostile, and deeply disrespectful. We left feeling unwelcome and disturbed by how casually we were treated with such disregard. No customer should ever walk into a business expecting to spend money and walk out feeling belittled, brushed off, and unwanted. Businesses in a community like Hermosa Beach should be held to a higher standard than this. Respect is not optional. Professionalism is not optional. Common decency is not optional. If a business cannot manage those basics, then it does not deserve the public's trust or support. After this happened, I checked the Yelp and Google reviews, and that only made this worse. Review after review described the same kind of rude, hostile, abrasive behavior. At that point, this no longer looks like one bad interaction. It looks like a pattern. And when the same complaints keep surfacing from different people across different platforms, the public should pay attention. So let this be a warning to anyone in the Hermosa area: avoid this place. Spend your money somewhere that values customers and knows how to treat people with respect. Do not ignore the reviews. Read them for yourself on Yelp and Google. The pattern is there, and based on our experience, it is absolutely real. Beach Market Hermosa is the kind of place that reminds you how fast one toxic interaction can ruin an entire business reputation. Inexpensive and good ice cream! I have seen Thrifty's ice cream in the frozen aisles at grocery stores. Sure, I can purchase 'em there and have it at home. Not quite the experience of purchasing on a cone or a cup at Rite Aid. Have gone to this location a couple of times, another in Torrance and in Norwalk for my scoop ice cream and friend's/fam's scoops. They were always generous scoops too. Aw, thanks for the memories!

She has ZERO people skills, no customer service abilities and has no business being a manager of any sort. I have been coming here for almost 30 years and their management in their pharmacy has left a lot to be desired. Their prior manager, Paul had absolutely zero people skills as well. Looks like they went from bad to worse with Lee. Not only did she hang up in my face, prior to that she refused to listen to what I needed before putting me on hold and coming back with a holier than thou attitude in every word coming out of her mouth. Details: I ordered a prescription to be delivered yesterday and paid for it. It was supposed to be delivered before close of business yesterday. This morning I get a text asking if I'm still picking up my RX. I replied no since it was supposed to be delivered as I paid for it already. Immediately I received another text saying ok we cancelled your order, let us know when you want it refilled. Naturally I called because I need my prescription and I had ordered and paid for it yesterday. I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Lee. Instead of listening to my question, she kept saying things that had nothing to do with my problem. I got frustrated and raised my voice a little to try to get her to listen to me and she then WENT OFF on me. I asked for the manager and she said "I am the manager" and hung up on me. This was a very simple error on their part that could've been easily handled and should not have ruined anyone's day. People who go to a pharmacy for prescriptions should not be treated the way Lee treats people. I have cancer (in remission), coronary heart disease, anemia, and a plethora of other ailments that I need medicine for. I don't need the stress of having to listen to someone like Lee tell me to check with my credit card company to see if a payment has gone through when it had nothing to do with what I needed. Of course my credit card went through, I'm on express pay with the pharmacy! Not only are her customer service skills, and people skills waning, her thinking process apparently wasn't working today either. This is my last straw with this pharmacy. I have gotten many different solicitations to have my prescriptions delivered by mail free of charge by various different companies. I am definitely going to look into those because I am not ever going to deal with Lee again. I have way too many health problems to have to be verbally abused and berated by my pharmacist. When we got there, there were 2 people behind the pharmacy counter and no customers. We asked if they had the Moderna vaccine available and were told that they did, but that we'd need an appointment. Their online system said they didn't have any appointments available until next Tuesday. The excuse we were given in person was because of limited supply we needed an appointment. Huh? Another Rite Aid pharmacy farther away told us to come right in and that we didn't need an appointment. It seems like these employees at this location were just being lazy. It's no surprise that many Rite Aid locations are slated to close.
