A friend and I visited Mobay for lunch. I love the decor! It's a beautiful space. Everything was clean and orderly. Customer service was top notch! I had the jerk chicken plate with rice and cabbage with a beef patty. My friend had the jerk chicken tacos. Everything was delicious. I'd definitely return!

Whoa! This restaurant has had a bit of a glow up since we last visited. Seems like it doubled in size and has a whole different vibe, more upscale and party-like. We didn't have any trouble getting a table for two at around 7 pm on a Saturday. I don't know if the A/C was temporarily broken or what, it was a bit warm inside but with a huge fan providing some relief. There appeared to be a DJ in the corner who was setting up while we were there and then up and running as we were leaving... which is good, because it was too loud for us old people. The food was just as good as I remember. Portion sizes are pretty big. This time I had the seafood Mac and cheese and the leftovers will probably last me 2-3 more meals. The rum punch cocktail was a bit too sweet for my liking. Our server was very friendly and attentive.

After last nights experience, I had to add this review. I've been here twice before and had a spectacular experience. Each time I invited friends out. Since I hadn't been in awhile, needed to catch up with someone, and I do a lot of reviews for Caribbean restaurants. I figured it's time to revisit. Got there before my dinner date and I was very excited with the remodel. Larger, phenomenal decor. It was lovely before and now it's elevated and has a lounge feel. 5000 stars from me on that. Sat at the bar, small bar chat with the bartender. Going to our table is when the energy started to shift. The server just wasnt the right match for us. My company wasnt sure what to expect. She asked the server how is something, she gave bare minimum telling ingredients. Even when asked if she had it, nothing. Food was good as I expected. Had the Rasta pasta with salmon. Which I knew was an up charge. For some reason my brain didn't register $18 for salmon. Or maybe I thought this was going to be a hefty size. Anyhoo, a time was had. Bill comes $65. Includes a 18% surcharge. I realize this is becoming a thing along with asking if you'd like to customize the tip. I simply asked about it. And was asked if I'd like to see the menu. That was the final for me. She started off with an extremely dry sit anywhere. No have you been here before. It was the quality of service from her for me. Not dynamic to match everything else. Even though the upcharge was a bit weird to me. I would have had no issue if the server matched. And on the way out, no one said have a great night, or come back soon. There was one other customer inside. lol. Would I go back, hmmm I don't know. Would I continue to recommend this restaurant. Seriously doubt it. I'd rather go to the other restaurants that treat everyone as if there doing us a favor.

The food was tasty and the service was quick and the ambiance was a vibe. Came for a lunch date and it didn't disappoint.

I ordered takeout from MoBay Spice and was really impressed with how clean and classy the space looked when I stopped in. The décor feels elevated and modern, and the music was playing at a nice, chill volume. The customer service was also great, friendly and attentive even for a to go order. We tried the Salmon Rasta Pasta and the Oxtail Rasta Pasta. Both dishes had a nice kick and the salmon was cooked perfectly. The protein portions were on the smaller side though. The flavor was there, but it felt like it needed a bit more depth. It wasn't bland by any means, just missing that extra layer of saucy island flavor that would've taken it over the top.

**2nd Review**. Run don't walk to check out the brand new renovations at Mobay Spice. We went to have lunch as we enjoyed the first time and man........they have expanded. Double capacity. Chic model interiors without compromising Caribbean flavor. Extended bar capacity and full length bench seating. The place looks awesome. Once again I rocked the rasta pasta while the wifey had goat and my daughter had the oxtail mac and cheese. Great service, great ambience. We will definitely be back. Congrats on the renovation. THEY ARE BACK OPEN!! Go support. Zero regrets.

Four stars because 1. The service could've been a little better and friendlier, I find that when gratuity is included service is subpar and 2. The food took an hour and it was not as packed as it could've been. It took about an hour to get your appetizers once order and then another 30 min for our entrees and 3. The drinks are $18 which is expensive. HOWEVER!! the food was some of the best Caribbean food I've had. The jerk sauce is great ! The frozen Bob Marley was great as well. I would go back despite the long wait time and lacking service. Ambiance is very aesthetically pleasing!

Unique space! Chairs and seating are comfortable and accommodating. Prompt courteous service. Stella Artois on tap was on point! Oxtail tacos appetizer and Jerk Burgers w/ fries were delicious.

Deeelish!!! I can't even begin to pretend to be an authority on Jamaican authentic cuisine, but what I can say is that this place was super damn tasty. The portions were a good size, and it was super fun to order a few dishes and share them! So happy I finally tried this local spot. Excited to go back! We went at lunchtime and got in and out smoothly within the hour. Service was decent.

Service charge and we tipped 20.00 because the server was really nice. The food was so awful had to take it home and fix it up.

Food small portions Service charges tips and taxes all included for 2 or more people. Unseasoned oxtails 18.00 pasta and to add meat 20.00.

More inside

Let's start with the good, the ambiance is so good, it's beautiful in there. You don't feel silly dressing up , it's free parking, the ladies greet you with a smile, the service was pretty fast (it was pretty empty that night) and the lighting is so good for pics . Ok the cons . The food is INSANELY overpriced. In total we had 2 drinks, 1 appetizer, 2 main courses. The bill was $140.00, it is a mandatory tip but still coming from the northeast where a large oxtail dinner is $18.50. Don't get me wrong it was good! Cabbage was cooked to perfection, the oxtail fell off the bone, I do wish it had more gravy . The drinks were decent. We got the salmon dip for appetizer and we didn't care for that. Very watery for a dip it was more a vegetable dip... my girl also liked her curry chicken meal. The waitress was nice but when paying I confirmed tip was included because the little payment machine was asking for an extra $30 or so, she made a comment that it goes to the house and they have to split it , I'm sorry but I wasn't paying close to $200. I'd go back but probably for drinks at the bar and maybe an appetizer.

I'd been looking forward to trying Mobay Spice for a while and decided to stop in for lunch recently. The restaurant is fairly "cozy" and has a few high tops outside. I ended up sitting at the bar. The bartender was very attentive. I browsed the menu prior to arriving and knew exactly what I wanted to order. I chose the rum punch for my beverage, mango habanero wings for an appetizer and oxtail with rice and peas for my entree. The rum punch was good and strong. The wings were ok, but I was expecting the flavors to be more bold. The oxtail platter was a generous portion, but lacked flavor and could've been more tender. The rice and peas were bland as well and the cabbage was ok. While I did enjoy my time here, I can't say that I would return because I can't justify the price. It was over $80 with tax and tip for myself and the lack of flavors just didn't warrant such high prices.

Do they have any vegetarian options or will they be expanding their menu to include at least one veggie-friendly option?

From what I recall, several vegetarian sides. Rice and peas can be veggie, but probably have to ask. Good luck!

The whole area actually looked like it had gotten a refresh since the last time I'd been around. There's a massive shared parking lot, and finding a spot was no problem. Once we parked, we followed the signs, walked through a courtyard, and found the entrance. Inside, a sign pointed us to the left, where we walked up to the counter and were greeted with a warm welcome. We grabbed a menu and quickly reviewed it. They don't offer flights, so we each ordered a couple of half pours. I went with a hazy and an IPA, while Wifey chose a watermelon pilsner and a lager. We placed our food order at the same counter--Wifey went with lemon pepper wings and mac and cheese. I ordered six spicy wings and a side of coleslaw. They provided an order number stand, we grabbed our beers and headed outside to a high-top table made from a barrel. The food came out surprisingly fast--they brought our trays right to the table. Everything looked great, and once we started digging in, the flavors backed it up. My wings had just the right amount of heat, and the coleslaw was a solid pairing. Wifey really enjoyed her wings too, though she said the mac and cheese could've used a little more flavor. Before leaving, we grabbed a couple more half pours. Wifey liked the watermelon pilsner so much, we ended up taking home a six-pack. It's pretty much a self-serve setup once your food arrives--you bus your own table, grab your own wet wipes and water, that kind of thing. It's a casual setup, so no big deal there. Out in the courtyard patio area, families and kids were everywhere--enjoying the "green" space, playing games and hanging out. I definitely noticed a diverse crowd--younger, older, from all backgrounds--everyone just enjoying the day. It truly felt like a space where all are welcome. Overall, it was a great first experience at this Fox Bros./Wild Heaven combo. We'll definitely be back. 4.5 Rating Instagram: @whatsthenextmemory

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, laid-back, and welcoming--perfect for a casual lunch or a relaxed dinner with friends. The staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely seem to care about your experience. Let's talk food. I've tried a few things here over multiple visits, and everything has been consistently excellent. Ham & Swiss Sandwich Perfectly toasted bread, quality ham, and melty Swiss cheese--simple, but executed beautifully. It's a classic done right, with just the right balance of flavors and a great crunch. Creole Pasta This one was a showstopper. Creamy with a touch of heat, loaded with perfectly cooked shrimp and andouille sausage. The seasoning hits just the right notes--spicy enough to warm you up, but not so much that it overpowers the dish. Definitely one of the best pasta dishes I've had in the area. Chicken Salad Sandwich I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The chicken salad is clearly made fresh--creamy but not heavy, with a hint of sweetness and a good crunch from celery or apples (maybe both). Served on fresh bread, it's light but satisfying. CHEESE PUFFS - DO NOT SKIP THESE Seriously. The cheese puffs deserve their own category. Light, fluffy, perfectly golden, and loaded with melty, savory goodness inside. These are dangerously addictive. If you come to Melton's and don't order the cheese puffs, you're missing out on what might be their crown jewel. I'd drive out of my way just to pick up an order of these. Melton's App and Tap nails the comfort food vibe with quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation.
