I ate at this spot on a road trip to Arches National park with my friends from Utah. It's their go to spot in Moab and it didn't disappoint. After a full day of hiking this is legit the best menu. Burgers, salads, ice cream. Everything a hungry hiker could want! Literally everything we got looked amazing. I got a salad and burger. Both were nice portions but I was starving! one would have been more than enough under normal circumstances! Everything we ate was great. We were going some place us for breakfast but we didn't realize it was closed on a Tuesday. So we ended up at Moab diner and I'm glad we did. Breakfast was great. The place was packed but that didn't affect our service or food. It was crazy to us Southerners how most places didn't open till after 8 am for breakfast. This was a exception. Food was really good. So good! 5 stars and two thumbs up. Came here for breakfast after not getting seated where we would have preferred at the Pancake Haus across the street. What a great decision!!i The service was spot on. Friendly, :-) servers and even the busboy was very polite. The food was so yummy and flavorful and delicious. We ordered the green chili smothered omelette and instead of getting toast, we got a side of biscuits and gravy. The gravy on the biscuits and gravy was obviously home made and one of the best gravies I have had on biscuits and gravy besides making my own. The green chili sauce on the omelette was to die for. Growing up, I loved the Moab Diner. I have fond​ memories there. Let me impart some foodie wisdom: when you go to a place, go to what that place is known for. Don't try to go to an Asian​ restaurant​ and get the Italian​ noodles there or vice versa. At the Moab Diner, get breakfast (steak and eggs) or get ice cream. Or maybe a burger and fries. My recent return this last week wasn't so great. I got the taco salad and my wife got the fajitas or some sort of veggie stir fry thing? Why did I do this? That's what​ I was in mood for. But gosh, it wasn't good. I would have given the food​ 2 or 3 stars. But I loved the place growing up and I know I just ordered the wrong thing and hence 4 stars. The place was PACKED and they had just sat 24 young men. I was very worried how long our food was going to take. Let me tell you - this kitchen staff puts out quality, well priced family meals FAST. M husband ordered a hamburger and loved it. I ordered a "skillet" breakfast dish with potatoes. It was good but the HUGE pancake that came with it was even better than my skillet potato dish. Food was great, service so-so. It was a busy Saturday night, I get that, but our server was distracted and forgetful. After our excellent meals we ordered ice cream, which took a long time (15 mins or more) to arrive. The server blamed the ice cream counter staff, but they're right up front - after we ordered ice cream, my wife watched the server take her break and go eat in the kitchen, then after a while she got our ice cream and brought it out. So once in a while you get a server like that I guess, but I'd go back as the food was great and the ice cream worth the wait. They seem to do quite the ice cream business as there was a line up front just for ice cream, so you might just stop in for a cone or a shake too! read more

And while we were still eating, the waitress brought our bill so as soon as we were done, we could get out and get going. Whether you are hiking, off-roading, or biking, this is a big plus. The second morning, we ordered the box lunch to go: I got the ham sandwich on a hearty rye, a full-sized water, a big apple, a bag of chips, and a full-sized candy bar. Once we got our food, it was bland and boring - the fries had no salt, the chicken unseasoned entirely. The water tastes like they got it freshly from the bathroom sink and during the 30 minutes we ate we were not checked up on, but the people around us got happy smiles and great service. The cool thing about the diner is that you can just stop by for shakes, malts, or ice cream. They have seating for large groups and there's a variety of food. I had the chicken fried chicken with the white gravy, recommended by the waitress. It was good kinda in the smaller side but it came with a side salad too. We ordered a slew of food: onions rings (appetizer), Deluxe Burger with Slaw, Chicken Fried Steak with Sweetwater Potatoes, and two shakes! Everything was phenomenal! The batter on the onion rings was perfect, not too thick, not to thin, and VERY crispy! The deluxe burger was my fav. The Geoff Sauce is a must; DO NOT SUBSTITUTE IT. It makes the burger. The sweetwater potatoes were drool worthy, filled with green chiles, onions and crispy bacon pieces, topped with shredded cheese. ASK FOR ESTEBAN!! I probably spelled his name wrong, but he's by far the best server I've ever had in ANY state. Even if the food stunk, we'd go back for his service. Fast, polite, and very attentive. I have been here several times over the past few years, good food but slow and I mean slow service when you first arrive. I enjoy the burgers, fries, ice cream shakes here. Last night it took about 10 mins for a waitress to come over in the beginning but my food came out fast but trying to track her down for my check also took forever. To be fair, this didn't happen to me when I went, it was just things I witnessed. There was a group of people a couple of tables over from us who hadn't had their orders taken yet, and they ended up leaving because it had been awhile before someone even approached them. The waiters then proceeded to take their waters (who knows if they had been touched or not) and put them back on the serving tray to give to other people. That may not be a big deal to some people, but I found that absolutely disgusting, and it makes me not want to even have water here. Best food around! We have been here twice now this week. Alfredo was our sever both times. Very attentive and helpful and fun. Last time I had the shrimp platter, pretty basic but good. My spouse had the smothered burrito and it was fantastic. This time he chose to have the side of Sweetwater Potatoes with skirt steak. He raved about it. I had the breakfast, green chili omelet. Best I have had in a long time. And shockingly the toast was warm with melted butter on it!! They are extremely busy always but are working hard to get you in as quickly as they can. read more

I'm updating this review because the Manager did come to our table, was very apologetic, and tried to make things right. He explained that they cannot accommodate Celiacs. He did clean a corner of the grill & prepare 2 eggs for me. They were very good & I did not get sick. My husband does not have an issue with gluten. He had eggs, bacon, hash browns & toast. He said his food was delicious! For that reason I updated to 3 stars. If you do not have issues with gluten then you can get a great breakfast at this diner. We visited the diner after a u-drive slick rock tour. We were hungry!!!! While sharing a meal is usually plenty for us we got two meals (and malts) just to ensure our tummies got filled. I liked the atmosphere of the diner. Plenty of booths and a few tables, but it does fill up during the lunch rush hour. There's also an ice cream shop front inside with many flavors. The bbq burger was great, and they were generous with the fries. However the vanilla shake I got was only okay. It almost seemed like it was watered down with ice or something... and it took 15 minutes to come out while the food only took like 5. Family got pancakes, burgers, and ice cream, all really good.
