My friends and I stopped by Thursday night for some drinks and bites to share. We ordered a mix of appetizers, including the cheesesteak egg rolls, breaded mozzarella half moons, housemade G's sauce wings, and the grilled cheese with fries. Everything came out hot and fresh. The wings were the standout, great flavor with G's sauce, which is like a peppery hot sauce. It's not super spicy, but it does have a slight kick. The grilled cheese could've used more cheese, but overall, everything hit the spot. Fun place for a casual night out! It is definitely a college town bar (I'm in my early 50's). The bartender was prompt and took our drink orders right away. The cook is right in front of you at the bar which is kind of cool. You could tell by speaking with him that he took pride in their menu. He let us sample some of the sauces which was great. I had the special of the day which was a grilled tomato/bacon cheese on Texas toast and a tomato soup with rice, ground beef, onions and peppers. It was fantastic! I also had the Cowboy bites which were jalapeños with cream cheese, bacon and corn - my goodness they were so good! My bro had the "what came first". Fried chicken sandwich with a fried egg and bacon. It came with fries and he said it was really good. My husband had Tri-tip cheese steak with no mushrooms. He said it was delicious. We were there on our own time without a schedule, so we didn't mind having to wait for our bartender. It started getting busy while we were there so the vibe was pretty cool. We will definitely be going back!

The wings were perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of lemon pepper, and the shrimp udon noodles were flavorful, comforting, and generously portioned. Even though it was a busy festival day, everything came out quickly. A special shoutout to our server, Daniel, who was friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient. He made sure we had everything we needed without missing a beat, even with the restaurant being busy. If you're looking for a casual spot with good food and fast service, especially during Musikfest, Team Apollo is definitely worth checking out.

However, the overall experience was disappointing due to slow service, lack of communication, and issues with the food. We visited after the Lehigh Graduate Commencement Ceremony and were seated from 1:30-3:00 PM. Our server, Younise, only checked on us roughly every 15 minutes. It then took 45 minutes for pretzels and another 30 minutes for our 2 entrees. While we overheard that the kitchen was behind, this was never communicated to us directly, which made the long wait more frustrating. There was also an issue with my order. I ordered the Caesar salad wrap (Julius' Chicken Dance $14), but I was brought a Caesar salad with chicken ($3 up-charge) instead. The server did not offer to have the kitchen correct it or provide an alternative. After discussing it, I eventually asked if she could bring me a tortilla so I could make the wrap myself. A 15% discount was applied, which I appreciated, but the bill still listed the incorrect meal and reflected the higher-priced salad instead of the wrap I originally ordered. The burger was also underwhelming, as the cheese was not melted. For a meal that came to over $60 for pretzels, a burger, a salad item, and one drink, I expected better communication, food quality, and customer service. The ambiance was great, but the entrees and service unfortunately did not match the setting

We reluctantly decided to return after not having the best experiences in the past, but after…read morehearing the establishment was under new management and seeing many recent positive reviews, we hoped things would be different. Initial thought-It was 5PM and we were the only table. Pros- -Waitress was extremely kind, attentive, and sweet. -Had regular ketchup vs. house-made that was offered previously. Cons- -Sprite was flat and tasted like dirty club soda. -Fries were extremely salty. The bowl that was brought out as an appetizer were a little better than those served with the burger(s). -Fried Chicken Sandwich (see picture) looked as though it was on the floor, or picked out of the garbage, and tasted just the same. -Four of us had a burger, which was just okay. The seasoning on them was overwhelming and couldn't finish the burger as a result. ------ After the two people at the bar left, we were the only table in the restaurant (6 people). We're not sure if the manager was present, but given that we were the only table on a Saturday night, we would have expected there to be some interest in hearing directly from customers for feedback and learning how to improve. While we had hoped that giving it another chance would lead to a more enjoyable experience, there's still a lot that needs improvement for us to consider it worthwhile--let alone edible.

I imagine this place is more for the evenings and weekends- so I'll return for a second shot soon. Our party of 5 enjoyed the retro ambiance and throw-back decor. The place was clean, if not, unused. I hope they are getting the business they need to survive. The menu looked interesting with a few out-of-the-box options. The prices seemed on par if not a little high as they upcharged for additions things like fries. I can't think of a more normal complimentary pairing like burger and fries. While my buddy got the normal retro burger I went to their chalkboard special of brisket on a housemade potato bun, of sorts. The flavor was good but it came out lukewarm and cold in spots. It clearly was reheated food. I had to send it back and upon its return, it was warm (not even hot) on the 2nd try. I had hoped for better from Retro, to be honest. The fries seemed hand-cut and tasted decent but nothing special. The service was friendly but unattentive as we had to ask for refills and my water was never filled (since I never asked). Since my dish had to be reheated my party had eaten most of their food by the time I got mine and while the server said "sorry about that" - that's all. Good establishments recognize the major failure of reheat/late dishes and typically offer a dessert, some money off, or something- they did nothing. Remember- the place was empty so it's not as if they couldn't focus on quality. I hate offering their first Yelp review with only 3 stars, but I will return and give them another shot during primetime and will update this review. I can't say I have high hopes for their survival as better restaurants (like Mint) have occupied this space and didn't make it. Here's hoping Jason (Exec chef) and company can make it here, if not just for their sake.
