For appetizers we had the wings, poutine fries and conch fritters-not a complaint at our table! For dinner we all had different burgers and they were fantastic as well! We will definitely be back! We reluctantly decided to return after not having the best experiences in the past, but after hearing the establishment was under new management and seeing many recent positive reviews, we hoped things would be different. Initial thought-It was 5PM and we were the only table. Pros- -Waitress was extremely kind, attentive, and sweet. -Had regular ketchup vs. house-made that was offered previously. Cons- -Sprite was flat and tasted like dirty club soda. -Fries were extremely salty. The bowl that was brought out as an appetizer were a little better than those served with the burger(s). -Fried Chicken Sandwich (see picture) looked as though it was on the floor, or picked out of the garbage, and tasted just the same. -Four of us had a burger, which was just okay. The seasoning on them was overwhelming and couldn't finish the burger as a result. ------ After the two people at the bar left, we were the only table in the restaurant (6 people). We're not sure if the manager was present, but given that we were the only table on a Saturday night, we would have expected there to be some interest in hearing directly from customers for feedback and learning how to improve. While we had hoped that giving it another chance would lead to a more enjoyable experience, there's still a lot that needs improvement for us to consider it worthwhile--let alone edible. read more

We went on a Sunday afternoon and, as expected, it was very quiet- in fact, we thought they were closed at first. I imagine this place is more for the evenings and weekends- so I'll return for a second shot soon. Our party of 5 enjoyed the retro ambiance and throw-back decor. The place was clean, if not, unused. I hope they are getting the business they need to survive. The menu looked interesting with a few out-of-the-box options. The prices seemed on par if not a little high as they upcharged for additions things like fries. I can't think of a more normal complimentary pairing like burger and fries. While my buddy got the normal retro burger I went to their chalkboard special of brisket on a housemade potato bun, of sorts. The flavor was good but it came out lukewarm and cold in spots. It clearly was reheated food. I had to send it back and upon its return, it was warm (not even hot) on the 2nd try. I had hoped for better from Retro, to be honest. The fries seemed hand-cut and tasted decent but nothing special. The service was friendly but unattentive as we had to ask for refills and my water was never filled (since I never asked). Since my dish had to be reheated my party had eaten most of their food by the time I got mine and while the server said "sorry about that" - that's all. Good establishments recognize the major failure of reheat/late dishes and typically offer a dessert, some money off, or something- they did nothing. Remember- the place was empty so it's not as if they couldn't focus on quality. I hate offering their first Yelp review with only 3 stars, but I will return and give them another shot during primetime and will update this review. I can't say I have high hopes for their survival as better restaurants (like Mint) have occupied this space and didn't make it. Here's hoping Jason (Exec chef) and company can make it here, if not just for their sake. read more

We came in for lunch on a Saturday just before 1pm. Should have known something was up because there was almost no one in restaurant and it was silent. TV was on and maybe some music finally came on. Waiter was new, and I fully respect him for trying. The restaurant was absolutely filthy. Chairs and tables were sticky, there was pieces of trash on the table of some sort. We sat next to the window and the windowsill was covered in dust and dirt. Check my reviews, I have never said this before. They told us they had a kids menu but no one could find it. My kids ordered lemonade, knowing it was a bar figured they would have that. Was offered lemon juice with water? For kids.... Yes I'm serious. We just left. I hope they fix this place or something else comes in here. Would have been 1 star but I didn't even get to review the food. read more

Mediocre Burger might be a better name. Started out with the beer and cheese dip, not very cheesy and lacked in flavor. The accompanying pretzel bites were dark and did little to support the dip. The Crispy Chicken sandwich lacked the crunch and the Hipster Burger was on the sloppy side and really didn't deliver. We added on fries to our sandwiches that were limp and cold, not what you should expect from fresh cut fries. Service was lackluster and never offered refills. After our entrees were served we didn't have any contact until it was time for our check. There is better out there from restaurants that don't have "Burger" in their name. read more

Amazing service Kade was very kind and helpful navigating fantastic menu options for my food allergies. They have a dedicated gluten free fryer which is an AMAZING find for a restaurant. We found this place randomly tonight and we can't wait to return! For a cold sunday night, there were several tables and a few people sitting the bar so it was good vibes right away. Our server was AMAZING, the food was PERECT and the place was all around a super cool spot. They have board and card games, a pool table and other fun activities to do if you want to hang out for a while. You pick how you want your milkshake with a base, mix ins, and toppings, which was cool! 2 crafted burgers w/ house cut seasoned fries + burger additions & a custom milkshake to share was a fair $48. Can't wait to return for Trivia and Game nights! I bet this place is hopping during the warmer months with their two outdoor patios!! We will be back!! read more

We came out to watch the football games today and had a fantastic time! We sat at the bar and got food and drinks throughout the afternoon. The service was great--we mostly dealt with the daytime bartender but service at the tables looked sharp from where we were sitting. My friends loved the burgers and especially the wings. I had a dietary restriction and couldn't eat those things, but the kitchen was able to accommodate that with something off-menu that was really good (should probably be on the menu but I digress). My beer-drinking friends liked the variety of both the taps and the bottles/cans. All in all it was a great experience, even met some new people. We will definitely be back next week! read more

I don't know what you go to restaurants for but the ambiance of this place is pathetic. The staff is nice, and the service was quick, but the food was prepared sloppy and quick. I ordered takeout, and by the time I got home the fries were already soggy, I am about 10 minutes away. The place is nice looking I had high hopes for it and they were soon crushed. We waited over a half hour for our burgers and our order was still wrong. The burger itself was nothing special I actually think every fast food burger in town is better tasting by a mile . Cool building. That's it. Waiter was nice, I suppose. Food was overpriced for what it was. You would think fries would be part of it, nah. Pay for that as well. I was hoping the food would redeem it, but it made it so much worse. Fries were basic frozen fries, and the burger with the "acclaimed" retro sauce, which was like only like half a dab, so I have no clue what it tasted like, was placed on top of the most lukewarm burger that I have ever had. Suppose the microwave in the back was going crazy, making sure it was warm as it could be. This place made me so angry that I made an account just to post this. I was wondering why it was empty at lunch time. I hope they improve because the idea is cool, but you know the main part of the restaurant which is the food, is not good. The place was nearly empty at dinner time. There was no ambiance to speak of. We ordered a veggie burger and a retro burger. They come with bland coleslaw as a side. We could have added fries for an upcharge but decided to share the $7 crispy house fries. Huge mistake. The portion of fries, which were just shy of burnt, was the same size as the $2.50 fries we could've added. The veggie burger was $2 more for a Dr. Prager patty. Not even a Beyond or Impossible burger. My burger which was supposed to have a brioche bun had two bottom buns. Otherwise it was an ok burger.
