Was able to eat here for dinner tonight. Was seated quickly and I was surprised at how quickly the food was all served! Service was also great, everyone was really nice and we were frequently checked on. The food was also good and I saw a walnut shrimp roll I'd like to try in the future. My one major complaint was about ambiance. The restaurant still has Christmas and Halloween decorations up and it's May. Stopped by on a Saturday night and got seated right away. There's a lot of seating and it was about 80% full. Service is quick...both for ordering and for food coming out. We ordered: Gyoza (5/5) - it had a golden crisp on the outside and the filling was good too. Honey Walnut Roll (5/5) - the honey walnut sauce and house special size was the perfect combo! The sushi is good but the service was terrible and unprofessional. We were sat first and had 3 tables served first before us. The waiters friends came and were ignoring their customers and attending to their friends before anyone else. The issue was not the sushi--we never got far enough to try it. The service was so dismissive and uncomfortable that we left even after placing our order. When we arrived, the staff avoided eye contact and repeatedly ignored us instead of acknowledging or greeting us. It immediately made us feel unwelcome. We were then seated beside a row of chairs where three people were waiting INSIDE the restaurant, talking loudly, watching TikTok videos, and laughing less than a foot from our ears. It was an extremely awkward setup with no sense of personal space. When another table became available, we politely asked to move. The server sharply denied the request, even though the table was open and moving us would have caused no obvious inconvenience. His manner was unnecessarily hostile and condescending. Even after I explained that we would either need to move or leave, he still refused. We ultimately walked out despite having already placed our order. I have never had to leave a restaurant after ordering because of how poorly and disrespectfully we were treated. The salmon is tasting more frozen and poorly thawed every time I order instead of the fresh firm salmon with lots of flavor I got used to from here. We have also gotten uni that tastes so horrible and rotten the last three times that we had to ask DoorDash for a refund because I didn't feel safe eating it. The last time we ordered from here I did order the sashimi special and I'm not sure what one of the cuts was but it tasted like soap. I think someone washed their hands and didn't rinse them off well enough and then they handled the fish or maybe the container the fish was in wasn't rinsed properly. I'm still leaving 2 stars instead of 1 because I haven't had a special roll from here in a while but the last time I did a few months ago it was good so I'm leaving the extra star with the hope that those are still okay.
