Hello all, Do not waste your time, energy and money with him "Ricardo" owner of MJ Remodel! Again, stay away!!! His worker does a horrible job and will blame it on your material. Went with his material for the cabinets and it's even worse. Promise 5 years warranty on his product and have not seen any process of him replacing the damaged part. Been going back and forth for the last two-three years on getting my cabinet and shower replaced that is included in the warranty/contract.
MJ Remodel recently completed our ADU project in the Inland Empire. They built a 2-bed/2-bathroom almost 1000 sq. foot home for rent. We went with MJ Remodel because we felt that Ricardo was easy to work with and has good communication skills. During the build, Ricardo did not nickel and dime us on any extra cost for minor upgrades. Inspections have gone smooth, and he is honest and easy to work with. My only complaint honestly is that MJ Remodel had several projects going on at the same time- which is a good thing for a General Contractor who is reputable. You don't want to pick one who may only have only 1 project as this is not a good sign. However, despite managing many projects, Ricardo always made it a point to reach out and provide us status updates on the build and work with us through unexpected circumstances such as City delays, weather etc. He and his team worked evenings and weekends to ensure our project was delivered within budget, scope and timeline. When there were project delays, they were due to weather, Edison or the City. This is our first adu build and Ricardo was able to walk us through the whole process and be upfront with us about everything. We got quality materials and build for a reasonable price. Most importantly, we got great customer service from him and his administrative staff (Liz) and we are very happy with the result of the build. We plan to use MJ Remodel again on future projects.
After a few bids, we went with MJ REMODEL. Some contractors didn't even send the estimate. Ricardo asked all the right questions and gave a competitive bid. As you can see, our boring drywall wall was transformed into our dream entertainment wall. They did all electrical and tile stone. His workers are super friendly and clean. They pay attention to details- no rush job. This company also did a great remodel on our kitchen and master bath 3 years ago. Neither time did they try to add money during the job. Give them a call.
Do your homework before hiring this company. I hired MJ Remodel (aka Ricardo) based on a remodel his crew did for my neighbor. What started as a minor remodel and patio/balcony addition became a nightmare very quickly. The project was only to take a few weeks, and as it got started there were somethings changed or added based on my conversations with Ricardo. The project started January 29th, 2019, and with many issues wrapped up (for Ricardo) the second week of July 2019. The job lingered on for months due to them having to constantly come back t fix something they did incorrectly or poorly. Ricardo had an excuse everytime they didn't show up, or he didn't return calls. Needless to say, here we are in June 2020, and this is a list of current issues I've hired someone else to fix... 1. Roof leaks where they installed the support beams into the house. Not sealed when drywall slapped on. 2. Baseboard they have already been back to fix is bowing out.... again. 3. Wood used for the patio cover/balcony was fresh wood. Sap dripping out and down the boards, corners of the balcony have separated, floor of balcony has sap leaking through the board with paint now bubbling or chipping off... and some boards have split down the middle. This is a small list compared to the many times I had to have them come back to fix things... like the new window that wasn't sealed and the water from the rains poured into the house and soaked the carpet and furniture. Thousands of dollars wasted on poor craftsmenship! I will have to spend more making things right that they did. Another neighbor, also hired MJ Remodel to do work and had issues immediately. Their project needed to be corrected by someone else.
We have used MJ Remodel twice in the past two years and are happy with their service. First time it's a complete house remodel back in summer 2019 and second time early 2021 when our newly renovated house got a pipe burst and caused major water damage. First project complete house remodel. We moved to CA from Texas and we bought a 1990s home that was a total gut job but we had never done any renovation before. We did extensive research online to find the right contractor/company. We interviewed quite a few companies (through our own research and our realtor's recommendations) and decided to go with Ricardo & MJ Remodel. Their price is competitive and Ricardo's highly motivated, quick to respond, and just seemed to be a nice guy to work with which was very important to us as we did the remodel remotely from TX. We didn't move to CA until the house was almost 2/3 of the way to completion. Ricardo would send us pictures to report on the progress and we would fly in every couple week or so to check on the house and meet with him to make decision on designs and finishes. I LOVED going to the design center with Ricardo, I was like kid in the candies store! It's so much fun but also overwhelming at the same time. Ricardo was there to help guide us through the process and offered good suggestions. When we were in town, he would spend Saturday and Sunday working with us so we can be as productive as possible and made the most out of our trip. During the remodel, we did run into a few pumps along the way but we were able to work out with Ricardo and his team. A few times they went out of their way to help us with tasks that were not even in the scope of work. The crew were really nice guys. They're hard working, polite and always cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. As for timeline, we did go over the original target because we did expand the scope of work (upgrade in bathroom, add a pergola etc). Overall, we LOVE how our house turned out and have received quite a few compliments from our guests. And we learnt so much from this remodeling experience and working with Ricardo/MJ Remodel. The second project was rebuild after water damage caused by original fire sprinkler pipe burst. It sucks that one third of the newly remodeled house was under construction and we had to redo drywall, trim, paint, and flooring. But it's easy breezy process this time around as we knew what to expect. It did take 8 weeks but they stayed on schedule and once they're finished we couldn't tell what had happened. Recently we were interested in a property near our current home (upgrade for better location). It's built in 1980s and would require a full remodel. We brought Ricardo to view the property and to get his thoughts on it and remodel cost. He advised us to not putting in the bid as he didn't think it's a good fit for my family knowing what we like and how much work involved. We really appreciated his honesty and not trying to convince us otherwise to get the job. If we have a new remodel project in the future, Ricardo/MJ Remodel would be our guys to call and we would recommend their service to our friends and family. It took us almost 2 year to completely decorate our home and here are the photos. Thanks Ricardo and MJ Remodel team so much! You guys rock!!!
Pleased with my bathroom remodeling with MJ Remodel. Ricardo, Mario and crew were easy to work with. Showed a few bathroom pics to Gabriel, one of the workers who worked on the wall and floor tiling. He even gave me some input and the outcome was amazing. All workers assigned to my bathroom project were polite and respectful. Area was covered protecting my floor tile from entry to hallway bathroom. Project was delayed 4 days due to a sick worker, incorrect liner (catalog pic was different from actual liner that arrived), tile unavailability and sink issue. The last minute change on a round sink shape to rectangular shape turned out better with a modern look. All old bathroom items, etc. were removed from in and outside of my home and taken away after my project. I would hire them again to work on my master bathroom in the future. Price was reasonable compared to other quotes I got from other companies.
So my Husband gives me the green light to contact contractors to remodel our downstairs bathroom. We do the standard three bid process and I remember how my girlfriend went on an on about the contractor who did remodeling work in her home. So I add MJ Remodel into the process. I'm one to draw out my ideas with my Husband adding his vision to the mix. Mario comes out takes the measurements...and my drawing, then arranged for us to go to their location to look at materials. Mind you, between his visit and our appointment the other bids come in so I had numbers in my head. So we go for our appointment, pick out materials and Mario runs the numbers. With the quote he gave us and his commitment that they'd be done before our company arrives March 3, MJ Remodel won our job. Sooooo.... this is a FIRST! They finished the job on time, maybe a day before. Ricardo made a personal visit to review the job with us. He recommended a different color cabinet... he was right! It all came out beautifully! Of course we found a few things we wanted touched up. No problem Eleazar came and finished everything to my liking. Good pricing, great customer service and response time, sound quality, willingness to recommend design changes so their customers truly have the end results they desire, skilled craftsmen on their team, AND they meet your and their deadline! Hey we will probably do away with that 3 bid process and just call MJ Remodel for our next remodel job!
Ricardo and his team are amazing!! We had our kitchen remodeled and from the beginning to the end Ricardo and his crew were highly professional and responsive to our needs. They even completed the work earlier than originally scheduled. You can tell he has a lot of experience because he knows what he is doing and has great ideas to modify a space into something you and your family will love and enjoy. Any remodeling process is not easy, especially when you are living in the home, but Ricardo made sure everything went smoothly as planned and got things done. We are very impressed with the quality of work and materials that were used to renovate our kitchen. Without hesitation we would work with them again. Thank you for our brand new kitchen and all of your hard work.
My family couldn't be happier with results of our remodel, MJ Remodel did a fantastic job. The great thing about it is they have personal that do all the crafts, so there is no wasted time looking for sub contractors. Ricardo did a great job in the design layout of our kitchen. Although my wife and I had a design Ricardo politely explained to us the problems with our layout and we are sure glad we listened to him. Mario was also great working with us, he always answered our calls. Mario's reliability really lowered our stress levels during the remodel. All of MJ REMODEL workers are friendly and professional and they go out of there way to help you. Also I told Mario that I was having hip replacement surgery and he promised to have the job completed before the surgery and they did finsh before the surgery. For me this was great because that means I won't have to come back home to a construction site. All in all I would definitely recommend MJ Remodel.
We are very pleased with this Company! Ricardo and his crew really did an awesome job!! My house has been transformed into a Kardashian Modern Style layout. Im horrible with designs and colors...Ricardo became not only our Contractor but my Personal Interior Designer, he saw our vision and succeeded way more than 110%. His team worked with us on every detail with patience and Im really really OCD with things so they work well with people like me HA. We had a leak during the last few down pours and his team stopped what they were doing and fixed it all up before it did anymore damage. What I ve learned while working with his team is to trust the process, and be patient because you will see it all pay off at the end! We are definitely having him and his crew work on our second phase of our remodel also adding patio oasis. I ve already referred multiple families and friends to him...that is how much we trust and know my people will be in good hands!! You won't regret it!! His prices are hard to beat, can't go wrong with MJ Remodel! They are now family to us!
We had a bathroom remolded which included tile, shower, vanity, countertop, sink, faucets, recess lighting installation, baseboards and painting. We absolutely LOVE IT!!! Ricardo and his crew are not only professional, but extremely friendly, communicative and punctual. Ricardo along with his assistant Liz was very helpful and patient when it came to us picking out tiles which can be very stressful, they provided numerous options throughout the project and we love the fact they were always just one call away. If you're looking for honesty, loyalty, excellent work MJ Remodel is the company to hire. We most definitely will be using them for our next bathroom and other projects along the way.
Ricardo & his team are awesome professionals and good people. They remodeled our kitchen, flooring, added recess lights, put the old cabinets in the garage, took out an old doggy door, & installed our toilet. They are hard workers, always very friendly & offer great advice. If you are looking for honest & hard working professioalnals, this is the company that you should be hiring to make your home beautiful!

We got five estimates Ricardo came in second from the least expensive, three of the other companies were a couple of thousand dollars more than MJ Remodel. Ricardo and his team did an awesome job with our new kitchen and bathroom cabinets and Granite Counter tops. They were very professional, polite and completed the job earlier than expected. Thank you MJ Remodel. read more

We recently added on a room to our house & remodeled pretty much every room in our house during the process. This was a huge undertaking for us. We hired MJ Remodel to take on this project and they did not disappoint. I could not have been more happy with the results. Ricardo, the owner of MJ Remodel, is amazing. His crew is equally amazing. Their work is top notch. Ricardo was so accommodating to our wishes and needs and really listened. He not just improved our home, but with the much needed changes to our home he helped to improved the quality of our lives as well. I'm in a wheelchair and needed a bathroom I could function better in. So they installed a gorgeous roll in shower and Ricardo personally oversaw the design, and construction of a vanity in my bathroom that I could use while in my wheelchair that not just functioned but was beautiful too. Completely fits my needs and I could not have asked for anything better. MJ remodel also opened up a room for us to make it a more open concept, added a sliding glass door and a picture window, added a built-in bookshelf and storage area with seating, painted the entire inside and outside of the house, put on a new roof, added concrete to make going in to my home more wheelchair accessible. They also handled all of the city permits and handled all the frustration and delays that came with that, they completely remodeled both bathrooms and our home in addition to adding on a room addition with a complete new bathroom and roll in shower for my mother who uses a walker. Her new room is absolutely beautiful, with high and vanity and tile. They replaced the electrical panel on our home as well, and the electrician did a very professional job. Every one of Ricardo's guys are very professional, kind and courteous men. We have thoroughly enjoyed having them work on our home. If there was ever an issue or something that was done we had questions about, they addressed it quickly and took care of anything that we asked. I feel Ricardo and his guys went above and beyond to make our home beautiful and accessible and functional. If we ever need any kind of home-improvement/construction on our home in the future, I would not even hesitate to call Ricardo at MJ remodel and hire them. I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone. read more

Very pleased with Ricardo and his crew, they did an amazing remodel of my 1960 old kitchen that was brought up to date. Took down a wall to expand it and was completed on a timely matter. He and his crew work hard on a daily basis until job was complete. Ricardo has patience to deal with difficult people like my wife that was very picky and indecisive but with his great knowledge and ideas it turned out to be a great project. read more

When looking to remodel our small 1996-built kitchen, we received quotes from three contractors. We chose MJ Remodel not only because they were the best price, but also because Ricardo has an unparalleled talent for taking an existing space and maximizing its potential. In our case, we wanted to open our kitchen up but couldn't grasp the logistics of where we would move the fridge. In short: we lacked imagination. Ricardo came in and instantly said we could put our fridge in the space that our laundry room was and moving the washer and dryer into the garage. He said we could knock down a wall and put an island/bar. He even said he could build us a walk-in pantry! My wife and I lack the ability to visualize the way Ricardo naturally does, so we were both hesitant and skeptical that our tiny kitchen would look right with what Ricardo planned. We went to the warehouse to pick out the cabinets, counters, and backsplash: my wife and I felt unsure and lost. Ricardo quickly gathered some samples that he suggested we use based on the lighting and our space we were working with in the kitchen area. What was an anxious situation turned into confidently making the right choices thanks to Ricardo's expertise and advice. The initial time frame was to begin work on November 5th and it would end mid December, just before Christmas. During our time of construction, we had a handful of familiar technicians visiting our kitchen: all of whom were kind and busy! Ultimately--due to a number of extra add-ons and a few days where the techs didn't show up--our kitchen wrapped up construction on December 22nd, which was still before Christmas. Even after that date, we made a very small list of things that we found needed modification, altering, or adjusting as we started using our kitchen. Our kitchen has been completely transformed and our guests are left awestruck when they see our kitchen that--by the way--feels like it has received a makeover from one of those reality shows! We are beyond satisfied with our new kitchen. One of Ricardo's employees came mid-January and took care of all the items on our short fix-it list! A few blemishes on our experience were that, as aforementioned, there were a handful of days that we would wait for someone to show up and they didn't. A minor thing to note was that we had to spot paint after, but we were left with the necessary tools to do so at our own leisure. Overall, we will be using MJ Remodel for our upcoming home improvement/remodel jobs! read more

We now live in our "Dream Home!" MJ Remodel completed a kitchen remodel, two bathroom remodels, flooring, and removal of a wall to create an open concept in our kitchen. We are completely thrilled with how the job turned out. This is our second time hiring Ricardo and his men to work on our home. We literally had them redo our entire house. At the start of this large project Ricardo sat with us and helped us to put together our style ideas. We had so many questions and ideas as we started this endeavor. So, we went to his showroom and he helped give input into what would look good and what would not. We thoroughly appreciated the ideas that he set forth. In the end we are so happy that we worked with him and his company. He helped to create an open concept that flows perfectly. It was even his idea to add additional cabinets to the back of our Island which has given me extra storage space. Great idea! Ricardo and his employees are talented artisans. The level of expertise in tile work, cabinetry, drywall work is top notch. We will see you again in a couple of years when we redo the windows in our home! . THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR COMPANY! read more

Will they be willing to do a simple job like to convert one of my kitchen cabinet to a trash bins drawer?
Unfortunately not at the moment..
They claim to have done houses for Desert Flippers in Palm Springs CA. Does anyone know if this is true? Has anyone had problems with their quality of work? Need answer ASAP. Thanks
Yes it is true. They just remodeled my whole house & added on a room & one afternoon during their lunch break I had the tv on hgtv & desert flippers was on & we were watching them on the tv together. It was pretty funny.…
