My boyfriend and I had our anniversary dinner here during our trip to Santa Barbara. I was craving pizza, so that's why I picked this spot. He ordered the Braised Short Rib and I ordered a pizza off the vegan menu (Spinach + Roasted Tomatoes) with added pepperoni because I'm lactose intolerant and can't eat dairy/cheese. I do really love that they have a whole separate vegan menu! Unfortunately, the food left much to be desired. My boyfriend's short rib was pretty salty. My pizza was alright, the crust/dough was the best part. I can't imagine how bland it must be on its own without pepperoni to be honest! (And I've had great vegan pizza in the past and often get my pizzas without cheese, so those factors are definitely not the issue.) I would definitely skip on the pizza next time and maybe try a pasta dish instead. read more

I have come to this restaurant multiple times , with my cousin when visiting from out of town , and i was super excited to eat here again! Upon arrival it was 8:39 and we waited for hostess for about 1 or 2 , when she had ultimately got to her post, looking uninterested and glazed over and did not acknowledge us , until we had said hi to her, furthermore; she told us that they close at 8:50 although online it states 9pm, at that time it had just turned 8:45 when she stated this, when we told her that we were still within that time she still said "well we close soon enough" , by that point we were kind of just dumbfounded and left, if they're going to be closing earlier than stated hours , the times need to be adjusted, then hearing when my cousin called the manager; to express his disappointment, the manager HUNG up on him, and told him that the hostess said, in-fact WE were being rude and combative, when that literally never happened , it was a very low decibel and composed aside from the thinly veiled annoyance by the hostess, so to say we were rude was absolutely delusional! Was honestly so excited to try the food here only to be disappointed by workers that didn't want to work and stopped taking ppl at 8:45pm. look I get it, I'm in the hospitality business myself. With that, I know that as a business, and as servers, you would think the workers would be eager to take an opportunity for some extra cash no? I could see if we came like 5 mins before closing but that wasn't the case. It was damn near 20 mins till closing. Needless to add, I'm visiting from out of town and have NEVER felt the need to leave a review on ANYTHING. But this I had to share. And I will keep sharing my experience with my peers.. read more

Everything was good we were a family of 5 Salmon farfalle braised short ribs chicken parmesan was great I had the pizza arugula proshitto it was ok Spicy shrimp sauce was great brushetta was good wish it was prepared before served Tiramisu and brulee was really good limoncello cake was a decent shortcake form Nice place but poor service read more

Located on State Street that's blocked off from cars, you'll need to find parking in one of the lots a block or two over. Indoor seating is very minimal, you'll likely have to sit outside if you come during busy hours. Food overall was okay. I'd characterize their pizza style more as a flatbread than a pizza. Best dish was the burrata and tomato with their bread. Worst dish was the chicken Marsala. Stringy chicken, overcooked vegetables...on par or worse than the chicken Marsala from cheesecake factory. Meatball and onion pizza was okay. Again, more like a flatbread but appropriate amount of meatball and cheese as toppings. read more

Delicious food but the service was poor and not attentive. We had a party of 6 dining outside for lunch. The food took awhile but was worth the wait. We ordered spicy shrimp pasta, Tuscan shrimp fettuccine, and pizza. It's an automated 20% gratuity and our server came to take our order, checked on us one time and we had to wave her down to get a refill on our coke. After waiting for 20-25 mins, she gave us Diet Coke instead?! She didn't mention a word about them running out of coke when she delivered it. I asked her if it was Diet Coke and she said, "oh I think so because we ran out of coke." She could've offered to refill with another option but left us wondering why our coke didn't taste the same when we first ordered. I'm very disappointed in the lack of service here. Honestly it felt like they didn't have to deliver customer service since it was already added to the bill. read more

Yum! My girls and I stayed on the mesa for my bachelorette party and ordered in some pizza. We loved the margherita and the truffle mushroom. The angular prosciutto was pretty good too, but the squash one was a little too much for us (maybe if the squash was a bit thinner?). It was not ready when we went to pick it up (they had not seen the online order, even though it said it would be ready in 20 min) so we had to walk around while we waited. But overall it was yummy and made my pizza-particular friend happy! read more

Great pizza! Nice outdoor seating along SB's main outdoor shopping strip. We had pasta dishes and they were all very good. Good portions too. This is my daughter's favorite Italian place to eat in the area as she goes to college nearby. Very friendly and prompt service. Didn't take pics of the food as we were too hungry. read more

Poor service. Absolutely the worst! Food was disappointing. One bathroom. Forgot to serve the bread. Never followed up, said they had no coffee. Had to ask for everything. No utensils. Dirty table...you get my drift. Will not be coming back to this nightmare of an establishment. Staff is a bunch of kids with no sense of professionalism. Subpar everything. read more

To be fair, we've mostly enjoyed their pizza. Mizza catered our Gallery 113 (G113) 50th Anniversary party by bringing a selection of 4 pizzas; and keeping them coming hot! Wonderful service by their team of servers who checked on us, frequently, as the gallery is 3 doors away in La Arcada. On a concert night, my daughter and I enjoyed the Prosciutto & Peaches appetizer, shared a side Caesar salad and the Lasagna Bolognese. Everything was delicious and a great light dinner for folks with a time crunch. After my April 3, '25- First Thursday Reception ("Outer Orbits and Portraits of Strong Women") at G113, we ordered Five Cheese, Butternut Squash & Gorgonzola, Wild Mushroom & Truffle, & Veggie pizzas. All excellent choices for my hungry guests. Next time I'll be sure to get salads. Try the Limoncello Spritz cocktail. Recently, we've enjoyed their Braised Short Ribs, Linguine and Clams. Both dishes had outstanding sauces that will bring us back in the future! We shared a salad which was delightful and plenty for two. Try the Violet 75 cocktail. Given the other excellent reviews I'm looking forward to trying the other entrees at Mizza! read more

I highly recommend Mizza. We plan to come back, it will probably become a staple in our rotation. Food: The two of us shared a side Caesar salad, spicy sausage pizza and the pesto pasta. We would absolutely get them again. There were so many delicious sounding items on the menu that we wanted to try, we will have to come back. The pizza was a tiny bit oily but not too much. Service: Very attentive, professional, and great pace. They brought our dogs a water bowl without us even asking. Awesome experience overall. read more

I don't know why but I haven't tried this Italian restaurant before, maybe because when I have an Italian food, I usually go to "Chase " and today I had a chance to try. The restaurant is located on State street so it's convenient to have lunch or dinner when you are shopping. We ordered Veggie pizza, vegetarian pasta, meatball spaghetti, tiramisu and decaf latte. Everything was good! About pasta, I like it harder ( Al-dente). Latte was a little bit weak but maybe it's because I ordered decaf. I'm giving this place 5 stars for the food and atmosphere, but the service definitely left a lot to be desired. Our waiter barely checked on us--maybe three times the entire meal--and seemed uninterested in helping, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. To top it off, they add a surprise service charge to the bill, which feels extra frustrating when the service doesn't deliver. That said, the food was genuinely fantastic. We tried a few of their pastas and the soup of the day--everything was delicious. The outdoor fireplace seating made for a cozy, romantic vibe, and the whole place has a really cute, charming feel. I'd love to see them either make their pasta in-house or use fresh pasta to take things up another notch read more

We held our holiday party of 18 friends here on December 6th. They didn't seem prepared to host us. Waited and waited for water, then we just jumped up leaving our guests so we could get water and wine flowing before ordering our dinners. They could have sold a bunch of wine at our table had they offered service however we just ordered enough to get our guests something and we had to hunt our server down to order that. It was our third year of hosting our friends here and we were disappointed in the service. We had our reservations in for months. Food was good. Service isn't something that is focused on. We likely will find a new restaurant for future parties. read more

We found this place while attending a wedding reception in La Acarda. We had the Mussels, the Lobster Risotto, the Filet, and the Short Ribs. All amazing. Shout out to the kitchen staff. Even more amazing was our server, Paige C. She was the most genuine, attentive, and efficient server while still being engaging with every table in her section. We were on the outdoor patio which added to our ambiance, but the inside was just as great. Ask for Paige, get the short ribs and one of their risottos. I hear the pizzas are great too, and it's not too often a place is good at both. Oh, and we live in Las Vegas so we know great food and service. read more

We dined here this evening. The food and wine were delish! We sat outside on the patio and it was delightful. Service was great as well. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and dine here again. The only thing I would change are those hard metal chairs. They hurt and I'm not a fan of them anywhere they are. Came here for a quick lunch after visiting the museum of art. It was only a three minute walk and the service was amazing. The food came out fast, and it was delicious. I loved the sauce in the linguine and clams and the bread was delicious. The crème brûlée was delicious . Would make the drive down again for Mizza and I would love to try the pizza out. read more

My wife and I came here due to the extensive vegan options that we found online. When we we arrived, the restaurant was fairly empty, but the hostess sat us at some tables near the entrance that were on a slope. It was weird that they sat us there because you would think that those tables were only used on very busy days. But really, due to the include, those tables could really be a fall hazard for people. Also, once the server gave us our menus, she told us that it was old and they no longer served all the vegan options found on it. So this limited our options. The food we did choose was good, but also a little too greasy for our liking. We had the mushroom, leek pasta and mushroom truffle pizza. read more

Absolutely scrumptious! I really enjoyed the pesto chicken pasta. It was so light and filled with flavor. The Tuscan dip is bomb diggity lol and i highly recommend ordering it. My friends also enjoyed the spicy shrimp and salmon piccata. I hate to leave such a horrible rating for such a beautiful business but it's only right when I was discriminated against the moment I arrived. The atmosphere + drinks were 10/10 but the host up front (Mia) was the BIG issue. Very rude and arrogant.. the second I approached her to check in, she had a stern look on her face and she didn't even bother greeting me. Aside from the unfriendly "welcome" + she never added my name or number to the wait list and it was obvious that she did it intentionally. Never received any call or text and I was waiting for an hour or so.. I was in a mesh two piece with a bathing suit underneath (which I understand isn't the best attire for dinner) but for that reason, she felt I didn't deserve to be serviced! Unbelievable.... Very nasty + insecure behavior.. I was on my way back to Los Angeles from a longggg beach day and simply wanted an appetizer as well as a drink but got ridiculed and judged harshly instead. I will say the manager David did his best when it comes to damage control. Sad this was my first experience but it will NOT be my last. read more

On this fine March evening, we opted to sit outdoors. I was concerned with how much lighting there would be once the sun set but they didn't really have any four tops available inside for us. (In the end, the interior lights from the neighboring business helped illuminate our table that was directly in front of the restaurant, and not necessarily under the outside covered area.) After we put in our order and received the complimentary bread (with the provided olive oil), we were questioning whether we had ordered too much food. We attempted to ask the waiter if it was too much and he didn't really answer our question. And since there was only one table next to us and he was dining solo, it was hard to gauge the portion sizes. We ordered: * Antipasto Sampler Platter $19.95 - A generous selection from their deli case, perfect for sharing. The butter bean with tuna salad was a first for me and has me thinking of how to incorporate more butter beans in my diet. Other items included grilled zucchini, grilled eggplant, mixed olives, farro salad, green beans, salami, tomato and mozzarella. * Bucatini all'Amatriciana $22.95 - We opted for this as it was a described as a traditional dish from he Lazio region. You can easily get your fill with a few items here without breaking the bank. I can definitely see why they have such great ratings. The restroom is located in the back, so you do need to walk outside to access the restroom. I guess this avoids having you walk through the kitchen to get there. Service was fine. We did have one primary waiter but the other staff stepped in when necessary. It was pretty busy for a weekday evening, at least for all the outside tables. Since it's a bit away from the touristy area, you do get a sense there are more locals enjoying this spot.

I also wish that the pizza was a little less charred. I think it was more burnt on top than charred but maybe that's what they're going for and I'm just not the audience.
