We came here while in town visiting some family. The wait staff were really nice and did a good job taking care of us. The food was good but it was not amazing, in my opinion. They plated it very beautifully so that it felt very fancy which was nice but it was still very expensive for what you get. It also took a long time for our our food to come out even though it wasn't super busy at the time.

Always have to start with the service, very good high quality service. Not too much but there when needed. We had a group of eight and there was a lot of "not ready yet" which the staff handled with ease. Food came out quickly but mostly all at the same time. We had a few items that came out later but it was reasonable and expected. Ambiance is very nice, simple but elegant. You would feel comfortable coming in dressed up or casual. Let's get to the nitty gritty, the food quality was very good, taste was a knock out. The pasta and sauce was good enough that I was looking for specific tastes so I could recreate it, that's what I hope for in a restaurant! And there was fresh bread, oh how I could wax poetic about fresh bread and so few restaurants are on this very simple add. Dessert - I'm always hypercritical of crème brûle because like bread it's pretty simple ingredients but takes some care, Muzuna's nailed it. All in all you should stop in for dinner and you won't be disappointed!

Second time here! We love this place. This is our night out place. This is a farm fresh bistro, amazing flavor combinations great service (Lisa is wonderful!) and kid friendly. We got the grilled cheese and apples for our kiddo, made with delicious flavorful cheeses for kids who like flavor! Our kid does. Crab cakes, chicken shiitake wraps and beet salad are incredible. Top it off with a root beer float amazing!

Came here for my wedding anniversary dinner. The clams appetizer was the star of my meal, highly recommend! I found out they were out of scallops when I ordered my entree, though, which was pretty disappointing; it would have been better to hear about that earlier. The waitress suggested a pasta special in place of it, but I ended up going with the steelhead trout entree instead. The trout was fully rare when I got it...I had to ask for it to be re-fired to medium (I can handle fish at medium rare but not rare, unless it's sashimi). They were quick and accommodating about that request and the trout was delicious. The mashed potatoes and asparagus on the side were great. Overall, the experience was really good but not quite excellent.

Parking was difficult to find. Street parking only. The table set up for our large party was done weirdly; we were put very close to other tables, and even though they knew I was going to be with a service dog, there was no safe place for him to sit. He was stepped on, tripped over, and accidentally kicked by a variety of staff. The service itself was good. Friendly and patient. The food was good too-- the creme brulee was huge and definitely shareable size. We all enjoyed our meals.

We loved the vibe at Mizuna - very cool ambience! Easy walk from the Davenport Grand made it even better. Our server was lovely but she was unfortunately playing role of server and bartender - this made for some very slow service! The food was good but not amazing given the prices. All in all nice experience and we would definitely go back for another!

New York steak with asparagus and Gorgonzola mashed potatoes

We came here for a winter birthday. It was dimly lit inside which gave it kind of a romantic feel. I feel like the tables were too close to each other since when I got up I couldn't push my chair all the way back to get out . I did like the exposed red brick walls and local art displayed. The bread paired with olive oil and balsamic vinegar is always delicious at any place that serves it. We were a larger group and hungry so I appreciated them filling the bread basket and oil dip. I showed up a little late so I can't remember what the group ordered for appetizers, but it was good. For my main course I stuck with what I know will be good which is the steak and potatoes. My steak was cooked perfectly and medium rare. I have never had a New York and it was quite tender. I was quite surprised that I received more than a few asparagus spears and a dollop of mashed potato's. Which is always a bonus. The Gorgonzola mashed potatoes were delicious. Very creamy with a hint of cheese. The mashed potatoes were the star of the dish. I did also really like the assortment of mushrooms on top as well. Everyone in the group ordered different items. A couple of people ordered the duck special, the scallops, and the salmon. One ordered the salad and returned it because there wasn't enough dressing, and wasn't satisfied with the quality of the salad for the price. They all said their food was just okay. I enjoyed my steak and potatoes. Overall my food was good. But if I were going to go out for steak I would go somewhere else like Wolf Lodge or Churchhills.

Most recently, on a Friday evening around 7 PM, my party was seated near the end of the bar by the restroom area. A server approached me in a confrontational manner and told me to move my chair because it was blocking the walkway. I immediately complied and moved it where he directed. Despite that, he repeatedly pushed and squeezed past the chair in an aggressive way several times afterward and then returned to confront me about it again. The interaction felt hostile, unnecessary, and unprofessional. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. On a previous visit, a female server was rude and controlling toward our table, and on another occasion when we were unhappy with a menu item, the response was essentially, "You ordered it, you pay for it," with no attempt to address the concern professionally. The atmosphere is great, which is why we've continued to come back. However, after several visits involving rude and confrontational interactions with staff, it feels more like an ongoing culture issue than a one-time bad experience. I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect basic courtesy and respect. Hopefully management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve the customer experience.

The kitchen is also an open kitchen - how cool! The service staff are enthusiastic about the food and very polite. Both the food and cocktails are SO GOOD. I had some sort of spritz and it was super sweet. We split the mussels ($29), Market Fresh Fish (cod, $32), and the steak tartare ($22). The steak tartare is SUPER garlicky be forewarned, but really good. The mussels are huge and tasty, and the fish of the day was fresh and beautifully plated/cooked.

They were made with pacific squid, and there was plenty of them in the dish. We love the fresh dill and parsley. There was just enough sauce to flavor the calamari. The Calabrian chilis were a nice little kick to the dish. We both ordered the burger along side with our beers, an amber ale, cream ale and the hazelnut . The beers were delicious. The burgers were spectacular. The homemade pickles added a nice crunch to the burger, the patties were tender and meaty. The cheese was very creamy. Exactly what I wanted in a cheeseburger. The server was kind and accommodating to all our sauce requests. I have tried Durkins during restaurant week and the food was delicious, and I'm glad we got to try them again.

It's time for our annual trip to Spokane for my wife's immersion and if you follow my reviews at…read moreall, you know that my job on vacation is to coordinate the food. This evening we decided we would go to Sorella. A gorgeous photo of their focaccia brought us in. Since finishing chemo and radiation for my breast cancer, food has been an interesting experience for me, so when I want something, I go for it immediately. I will note, if you're interested in trying Sorella, BOOK A TABLE! We were able to snag seats at the bar, but even on a Tuesday, this place is in demand, and after enjoying our meal, I can see why. When we walked in, we were stunned. Beyond the natural light flooding into the roo,m there were gorgeous deep teal walls with a gallery wall and gold accents. The bar was adorned with gorgeous counter tops that had low lights, and a mix of velvety chairs gave it a soft luxe feel. The aroma of the food was lightly sprinkled throughout, and the décor were simply stunning. It would be a great place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, date night or just a casual moment with friends. A full menu is available at the bar and the staff was incredibly attentive - more details on our experience are below, after the food review. Now let's talk about what we ordered. We got the Focaccia (of course), Arancini, Dante's meatballs, the Cesare, the Limone and a Pasta Speciale. Focaccia - 10/10 I love when food tastes as good as it looks. The focaccia melted in my mouth and carried so much flavor on its own. The whipped brown butter was such an excellent addition and truly a masterpiece to add to it. I could have easily ordered two more (and I should have). Arancini - My rating 7/10, My wife's rating 9/10 The presentation was beautiful on this dish. My rating centers around my taste buds not aligning with the flavor profile, and not really knowing what to expect. I find myself preferring a stronger, almost cheesy flavor now, and this was a bit more subtle. My wife, however, fully enjoyed them and loved the flavor they carried even without the sauce. Dante's Meatballs 10/10 Spectacular, give me 12! These were so delicious, the meat was so flavorful and the sauce, WHEW the sauce was delicious. Yes, we did dip the focaccia in the sauce. Cesare - 10/10 I love a good salad, and Caesar is my favorite. At other restaurants, I find myself wanting more dressing or more flavor ,and I often feel like pieces of the salad are missed when preparing. This salad was dressed from end to end. We squeezed the lemon on top, and it sealed the deal. Every bite was fresh and had a slight crunch and crisp that was exactly what we were looking for. Limone - 10/10 When we looked at the menu, my wife glanced over and immediately knew what I was ordering, and after my first bite, I was so glad that I did. The execution of this dish was perfect. The noodles were thick and almost creamy alongside the butter, and there was the perfect balance with the parmigiana reggiano. When I order it again (because we will be back), I will definitely add prawns. Pasta Speciale - 8/10 I meant to snap a photo of the menu, but this was on the special menu. There were prawns, mornay, garlic, arugula and a few other things that I am forgetting. The prawns were incredibly fresh, as were the noodles, and the flavors blended very nicely in this dish. Lemonade - 10/10 The lemonade was delicious! I don't know that I've mentioned this on any of my reviews before, but I love lemonade and order it with every meal outside of breakfast. This lemonade was the perfect balance of tart and sweet. Limoncello - 10/10 We shared two of the housemade limoncello shots to go as we were checking out, and I wish I had recorded our reaction. The execution of the flavor was perfect, and it definitely packed a punch! Our server/bartender was Mary Katherine, and beyond being the sweetest, she was also incredibly knowledgable of the menu. As luck would have it, we ended up sitting next to the owner's family and got to chat with her amazing Mother throughout the night (who was kind enough to let her try some of her delicious lasagna) and ended up meeting the owner. Lauren, the owner, took a pause to talk to us, and it was so evident that she is truly such a brilliant and sweet soul. She radiates, and who she is as a person aligns exactly with how Sorella feels: ethereal. Overall, we had an amazing experience, from the ambiance to the service, the conversation at the bar, and the delicious food. We cannot wait to try Fratello's, the sandwich shop also owned by Lauren, this week.

The arancini was delicious, and my fiancé absolutely loved his steak. He said it was incredibly tender and cooked really well. It didn't come with any sides besides roasted tomatoes and a few ribbons of zucchini. Unfortunately, my meal was more of a mixed experience. I ordered the alla vodka, but the sauce had a strong goat cheese flavor to me, which I really don't enjoy. I didn't notice goat cheese listed in the description, so that was an unexpected flavor for me. I also added chicken breast to the pasta for an additional $14, and unfortunately it was very bland, dry, and stringy. For that price, I expected the chicken to be much better. The Caesar salad was beautifully presented, but it lacked the punchy, savory flavor I usually love in a Caesar. Overall, we enjoyed the atmosphere, service, drinks, and some of the food, but for us, Sorella feels more like a place we'd return to for drinks and appetizers rather than a full dinner experience. I'd definitely come back for the ambiance and to try some of the other small plates, though!
