Reservations are strongly recommended because the service, food and atmosphere are so good!

They do not have sushi even though there's a large sign out front that says "sushi bar". Do not be fooled. Waited 30 minutes before sitting down and finding that out. read more

I've been going to Miyabis for quite sometime now and I've actually seen quite a few changes. Unfortunately they no longer have a sushi bar which saddened me. Because my wife and I would love to go there to relax and enjoy it a little on date nights. Now the main attraction is of course the Hibachi, which to me has always been good, the food always taste great and for the money (it's a little pricey) you always get generous portions. You'll be taking home a lot of rice unless your that hungry. They still serve sushi but only during your main course which to me is a bit of a let down because I used to like eating some sushi while I waited to be seated (depending on how busy they are it can take up to 45 minutes to be seated). The reason for the 3 stars is because of the lack of sushi bar but the quality of the food is still top notch. I would recommend this especially for a date night read more

Amazingly I have tons of family working here ! I love it . We got the best server , and chef ! It was a friendly environment with familiar faces ! The food portion was HUGE ! I had the steak and shrimp and it was what I expected ! Can't wait to go back . My first experience and trust me I'm coming back !!! The best !!! read more

I stopped going to Miyabi's because the food became lackluster but this week a friend picked this as their restaurant of choice. It seemed every time we went the food was not consistent and the cooks were just doing the bare minimum to get the food on the plate. I was less than thrilled to be going but for once the food was not disappointing. The cook had a one letter name which I can't remember but he was friendly and his cooking skills were great. Our food turned out delicious and I actually ate majority of my food. As soon as he got done cooking the server came over and asked if we wanted boxes which made it feel rushed but since we waited a while to be seated and it was closing time I was ready to get out of there. Hands down was the best the food has there for me in years and I even brought a 3 month old baby to dinner which could've been a major self sabotage. read more

The food is always amazing and the chef/entertainer is always great! We always go there for Mother's Day, but we always plan and go the day before because it is always packed with others who love it there, too! We'll probably be there for Father's Day, too! Yummy! I'm get to eat leftovers today! Lucky me! Chris Wis read more

Decent hibachi food but there are Hester places I've reviewed in Savannah at half the cost. Rating 6.4/10

Stopped in for dinner with my family . Food was on point, service was friendly, restaurant was cute. Great spot to enjoy. Ribeye chicken and shrimp was yummy read more

Food and service were amazing! They do not offer the early bird special anymore, so keep that in mind when planning to go. However, overall it was a great experience! read more

This is always the top choice for my family whenever we are in the Savannah area. SO much food! My adult children make several meals out of their leftovers. This is one of my favorite places to get a filet. They always serve sherbet at the end of the meal. The kids love it but I am always so full that I can't eat it. read more

The food is amazing and the chef's are very personable. The atmosphere is great and wonderfully decorated. I will highly recommend to others. read more

First off - let me clear up some confusion. Right now Miyabi is the ONLY restaurant that still offers Teppanyaki cooking at guest table. Apparently the word teppanyaki is derived from teppan, which means iron plate, and yaki, which means grilled, broiled, or pan-fried - even though I'd previously been told teppan means table. And therefore I called 3 different restaurants that we THOUGHT provided this tableside 'show.' Lol. Unfortunately - we were very late because the navigation took us north of Savannah and then back. We arrived to 5 Savannah police department cars in the lot at the entrance - one officer was outside his car taking victim and witness statements so we missed all the excitement - but it did make us a little nervous (ie what happened - a shooting, a car theft, a fight?) We were seated promptly - especially considering our tardiness - but our chef didn't have the energy we'd anticipated and he didn't do any tricks. He tried to crack a few jokes - but the energy at our table was blah - and he just gave up. The food was just 'okay.' My zucchini was cooked to mush - which I hate. I opted for steamed white rice (instead of fried) and it was cold. My ribeye was tasty - but there wasn't a lot of it and I was THOROUGHLY disappointed to be served dark and white meat chicken. I hate dark meat (thighs! blech!) and since he chopped all of it and mixed it together - I had to pick around looking for the breast meat chicken chunks. Honestly - I understand that in these types of restaurants - you're paying for the entertainment and ambience - not necessarily the food. But for $25 - I'm expecting white meat, I'm sorry. Add that to the less than stellar performance of the chef - and you get a 2 star rating. With tax and tip - I spent $150 on the four of us (nephew and gf had entrees with shrimp so they were pricier) - and most of the food was left behind (me) or trashed later by them (nephew). read more

Literally the worst service I have ever had, from start to finish. The hostess was rude and scowling. The server told my fiance (the birthday boy) that he need to stop drinking so much. On his SECOND beer. And repeatedly bothered him with comments like: "You should drink some water." "I hope you're not driving." and "I've never seen anyone drink this much in my life." He had three beers and did not drive. It was a Tuesday night and we were out with our friends and their children. It was embarrassing, rude, out of line, and extremely uncalled for! Not to mention that we requested and paid for a birthday song that I reminded the server three times to not forget. It never happened. The only thing redeeming was Biggie, the grill cook. He was great. When we complained after the meal, the manager simply did not care. I know everyone loves hibachi but I'd be surprised if this place survives that poor a customer service ethic. read more

Nice experience, however there was was too much rice and not enough seafood, chicken and steak. It left me with the impression that the rice was meant to be a filler for not enough of everything else. The customer service was very nice, our server was very attentive. We will come again, but would love to see the things I've pointed out improved. read more

Visiting Savannah from California - Chef was bland - humorous commentary was missing - Large portions of Fried Rice but no egg no peas nor carrots - maybe a California thing? My protein was cooked and served to another guest by mistake- Didn't get to enjoy eating at the same time with my party. read more

The food hasn't changed, and the atmosphere is still fun and theatrical, but now there is a two hour (literally!) wait on the weekends. Miyabi Kyoto has apparently become a smashing success amongst a crowd that likes their chicken wings with a large helping of shrimp fried rice and lots of "Japanese" mayonnaise sauce -all while shouting on their cell phones at the table. Nothing here is worth the wait, and I see no point in suffering the simplicity of their new-found client base. read more

This place was awesome. The amount of food they give you is well worth the cost. A great family atmosphere and the workers are so amazing.

Lia was our server. She was very attentive. My family and I enjoyed this restaurant. I arrived for early bird seating and ordered chicken & shrimp teriyaki. It was deliciously prepared by our chef. The food was abundant and flavorful. Get the ginger dressing on your salad. The sherbet was very good and enjoyable. I recommend this place for anyone who enjoys hibachi. Arrive early on Saturday because I noticed how quickly busy the restaurant became. All the tables in the dining room appear to be filled. Its obviously very popular. I will be back. read more

The only reason why we keep coming to this restaurant is bc of my kids. They love the whole show and " white sauce". Of course everything tastes better with mayo! First of all if you don't have reservations don't ever just try to walk in or you will wait forever. Next they give u way too much rice. Most of it is getting wasted which is such a shame. Who would eat all this rice??? It is so not healthy! Meat is pretty good hot off the stove. read more

Would've been nice if we knew a reservation was needed (which normally it's not) before we drove an hour to get there.

Whoa! What a load of food. Slow to seat even with reservations. However, everything else was a great experience! The chief was funny and made great food. Plate size was abundant to say the least. A great place to take the family! read more

Miyabi - Japanese Near Me - Savannah, Georgia

Lots of food. Enough rice to fill a to-go container by itself. However, the rice is underwhelming. Just rice and sauce. Don't expect egg or vegetables to be added. Otherwise, food is very good. Service was very good. read more

Love this restaurant! Can't say enough. The dining area is always super clean unlike many hibachi grills. It is well lit and the servers are attentive. "Smo" is the best chef with "Hooptie" as a close second. Enjoy your meal and bring a huge appetite. Plenty left over for breakfast and lunch the next day. read more

Good to go once or twice. Entertainment was what you would expect from a hibachi grill. Food was pretty good, I had no complaints but it also wasn't the best meal I've ever had. Portions were ok, but they overload you on take home rice. read more

Pretty upset with Myabi's on Eisenhower. My daughter and 7 of her friends had 6:30 reservations tonight to celebrate her 14th birthday. At 7:15 I went up to the hostess stand where a manager and two hostesses were standing and stated point blank..."It's bad enough you won't serve my wife and I sushi at the bar, which by the way has zero people sitting at it, but my daughter and her friends had a reservation for 6:30 and here it is 7:15 and they are still waiting to be seated." Hostess responds that the entire party was not here at 6:30. I replied that they were missing ONE person and that person walked in at 6:35. But yet walk ins were seated before them. I guess it takes an adult to complain for them to treat a group of well behaved, dressed up teens with respect. I for one will not be returning to Myabi's. read more

Great for a quick little sushi dinner date! As "sushi snobs" my boyfriend have been going to sushi EVERY saturday for one year. We're from Chicago so we have no problem finding great sushi. Savannah is a different story. Everything downtown is pretty below average. Miyabi is a little treasure I now enjoy often. The rolls are very cheap (Average roll normally- $10-15 but @ Miyabi they are $4-9) They do not cut corners. Some of the sushi combonations are a little odd to us, but we'll continue to try new rolls. If you like sushi- they have some pretty great stuff! read more

If you have over 8 you will not be able to sit together. Four times over two years in a row, we have asked to have our family of 16 sat across or beside each other. They not only didn't care, but they also sat us at different parts across the restaurant with a wall separating us. It just became an obvious slight this last trip. We couldn't even see them! And I was very kind about it when asking, even willing to wait longer, and we all would have happily given out some great extra tips to anybody that cared to help that happen. What's worse is that our other family members were sat at a section with an empty side facing them. Maybe they can't find a hostess that is skilled enough to manage tables with flexible seating. Or, it may be that they don't care to accommodate their customers. We drop $300-$400 bucks a table, and that's the treatment we get? I am honestly just disappointed in a place that my in-laws have been dedicated to and thoroughly enjoy. The food is supreme, chefs are talented, and all others are kind, but that lack of flexibility to make the customers feel important and respected makes it a soured experience for me. read more

Best place Me and my girlfriend Sapada have eaten in Savannah so far. Skylar was a great server, she kept my drinks coming. An Me an sapada didn't have to question where she was or what she was doing. Our drinks came out promptly, and on time. The food was amazing We are soooo full. We are currently at the bar with Q and he's doing his thing making the best drinks in Savannah. We definitely recommend this place. We will be back for sapadas B day May 10th!!!! read more

I've been a customer since they open in Savannah and always had great results with the food

It is so good! They give you so much yummy food. We went for the early bird! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that usually they start to cook while you eat soup and Salad but today it was almost an hr from the time we sat till the cooking. So yummy it made up for it though. read more

Ordered to go. Rice was bland and over cooked, soup was just beef broth. Shrimp were good. Chicken was dry and the steak was tough. It was a lot of food but the quality was very lacking! Not worth the price! read more

Started off with the soup it was fine, next the salad had so much dressing it should have been called soup too. Next they put white rice on the grill with soy sauce and called it fried rice ‍ no meat, no egg, no veggies, nothing. Shrimp were way over cooked and filet was fatty but the scallops turned out good. Also there was no extra entertaining factors that I'm use to seeing in other steakhouses such as the onion volcano, flipping spatulas, food tossing, etc. will not be back and I'm sad as I love a good Japanese steakhouse. read more

Reservations are hard to come by and the hours of open times are questionable. I was told 4 pm is walk ins but the doors are closed at 4 pm. Do they not want the business? read more

The food is good especially if you like rice because you get a ton. The steak seems to be thin slices with a lot of fat. The last few times we went the chef did not put on a show with the typical fire onion. Sans show, the price per plate is too much for what you get. read more

I've always loved this place. Could eat their food all the time! The amount of food they give you is absolutely crazy, plenty for leftovers. The only thing I have had a reoccurring problem with is the wait staff rarely refilling drinks or clearing the dirty dishes off the table, but I understand they're busy as well.. But the seating arrangements.. I feel like they should work on their system of how they seat people. Ex: My fiancé and I were dressed nice for a night out on the town and a nice meal.. We told them we didn't mind waiting but they pulled up an extra chair to an already full table and we had to sit in the middle. The two other parties were extremely loud and it was way too cramped that we had to leave the table and go back to the waiting room. The staff is so nice though! And did end up helping us out. read more

We ate here last Friday night. The place was packed and we had to wait 45 mins. We sat at the bar and had a drink until we were called to a table. We sat with a nice family of five and another couple. Service was excellent and the food was amazing. We enjoyed the showmanship of the cook and he was very funny. Would dine here again. read more

I decided last minute to try this place. I was asked to sit in the sushi bar area and enjoy a free appetizer. I had a choice of three to choose from. I chose the fried in tempura combination onion, mushroom and shrimp. I was seated at a table before it was delivered. In fact it did not arrive until well into the meal. At first you may think its too expensive. The food quantity is enough to split with a friend. They charge $7.50 for the second person to split. You both will have enough for a doggy bag. Each table seats 8 people. The waitress gets you settled and serves the drinks, the included onion soup, which is delicious. She also serves the salad. The salad is really just torn iceberg lettuce. at this time my free promised appetizer finally arrived. The chef starts out by cooking some shrimp and serving you a hot appetizer. He then cooks the zucchini and onion in teriyaki sauce. That is served to you. Next,he puts about 2 quarts of rice on the grill and seasons and cooks it and divides that between the 8 people. Again if nothing else you will have rice leftovers. I ordered the rib-eye steak and shrimp. the steak was delicious and tender. the steak is about 6 inches long and about 1/2 inch thick. it is cooked then cut up and served to you. to finish the meal a bowl of sherbet is served. There were other tables with celebrations going on and it looked like a lot of fun. The service was good. I understand I got lucky that there wasn't a long wait this time. They do have some meals priced for Happy hour before 6pm. read more
