Are you looking for some full flavored food with a fun vibe. This is your place. We had a late lunch here on a Sat in June. It was 92 but 85 in the shade sitting outside. Our server was nice, good but not great. The Sangria was very tasty and my Brisket sandwich was very good if very very rich. My daughter had the kids spaghetti and meatballs it was so good my wife and I finished what she did not eat. I would come back just for there spaghetti. Nice place that I would come back to. read more

Thanks to Yelp (and a local we asked) for recommending this place. Everything on the menu sounded great, and the dishes we got were delicious. Service was friendly and thoughtful. The tables in front are really pleasant. Damn, that strawberry lemonade thing, gimme another one of those. read more

2nd time, 1st for lunch. Decent Menu. Food is great. Portions small. Great service

Dropped in for a coffee (good and strong, delicious dark roast) and was welcomed warmly. I received speedy service and had a pleasant experience on the front patio. I only had a coffee but will return for a cocktail and glass of wine as the menu is quite luring. On my way out I was pleasantly surprised to find that my coffee had been paid for by a gentleman at the bar (whether it was a regular patron or the owner I am not sure). Nonetheless, I highly recommend this place for its atmosphere, delicious coffee, and promising menu. (4=4 stars given since I only had a coffee, would otherwise likely be a 5!) read more

Menu sounds amazing, but we've been there 3 times now and have NOT been blown away. Food was good, but for the price, I think we will try elsewhere. On a positive note, they do serve Red Collar beer, which I love :) My son got breakfast here once and the biscuits it came with were VERY good!! read more

Mittz Kitchen is a great addition to the limited number of decent places to eat in Kamloops. The menu is almost overwhelming in the amount of dishes that look delicious, and the ones I've tried have all exceeded expectations. The beef brisket sandwich is a must-try for lunch. Service was a little slow but very friendly. read more

Great little cafe in downtown Kamloops. Attentive service, interesting decor, and lively atmosphere. I've been here a few times for lunch and not been disappointed. The menu has a lot of variety, which makes this a great place to eat at with coworkers or clients. The salads and sandwiches are fantastic. read more

This is a very creative place. Food was excellent and the service superb our first time here and we shared a salad several grazing items . All were well seasoned creatively prepared. If items were a bit warmer it would be 5 stars read more

Tried this place out with some work colleagues yesterday. Hugely busy, but got seated out front. Very pleasant seating, service was good regardless of large volume of people seated. Food was all well presented and above expectation. Really enjoyed the Brunch menu, Brisket Benny was very good. Nice family run business. Worth a visit. read more

Can't believe I have not done a review yet ! ( slipping ) . Lunch today was great. I had the large Ceaser Salad, my partner had the Cobb Salad. Both very very good. Our friends had Beef Dip and Seafood Salad, and they really enjoyed it. Service was very prompt. Very friendly. Sweet lady. I like this place. Really good food. Nice, relaxing atmoshere. its not a big place, so it can get pretty packed up pretty quickly. read more

Not a fan. Dined here solo tonight and ordered the Bang-Bang Fried Chicken & Maple Sriracha Pork Belly Ribs for $29. With a name like that I was expecting greatness but what I got was very underwhelming. First off, portion size was small for a dish that was listed under "big plates". The single piece of fried chicken that I got was of the 'shake and bake' variety as opposed to the KFC fried chicken that I was expecting. Bang bang sauce apparently translates to Frank's red hot mixed into the batter with some sort of mayo drizzle on top. Wasn't a fan. Secondly, the ribs were small but with fortunately very well marinaded. The scalloped potatoes were delicious and probably the best part which in the words of Donald Trump are SAD in a dish that features BOTH fried chicken and ribs. Thirdly, the coleslaw was a laughable clump which shared the common theme of being small. This was a shame because it was quite good. Think Asian inspired sesame oil tasting salad. Overall, I'm bummed that I paid such a high price for so little. Maybe, I picked the wrong dish but I don't think I'm coming back here for a second go. Service was okay. Had to ask for my water to be refilled and my bill came without being asked. read more

Mittz Kitchen - Bang-Bang Fried Chicken & Maple Sriracha Pork Belly Ribs - Gastropubs Near Me - Kamloops, British Columbia

In the Shuswap area for the summer, Mittz Kitchen has become our go-to place. The excellent and creative menu items are exceeded only by the great hospitality. More than just a place to have lunch on our day-trips into town; Mittz became the highlight of each visit. Thank you all......and particularly Tina.....for introducing another bad habit and thoughts about music! read more

The sablefish was hands down the best I've ever had. Paired with gnocchi and the sauce.. damn!! Plus the panna cotta was AMAZING. I would eat it every day. Servers seemed a bit stressed. I think they were understaffed, and the restaurant was freezing. We moved to the patio and it was great. But still giving it 5/5 because the food was killer. Would definitely go back. read more

Value proposition is off; small portions for the price and unfortunately the taste wasn't making up for the disparity. Service was alright.

The customer service from the staff here is incredible. They go above and beyond to make sure their customers have the best dining experience possible, came in today with my grandma who is elderly and they did everything in their power to make sure she had a comfortable and welcoming meal. We will remember their actions in future dining experiences. The service you get at a restaurant can really make or break your experience, we truly appreciated their efforts and will definitely be back! Thank you guys so much! read more

I had a decent experience, but the food was only ok. I had a ginger beer margarita which was the best thing I ordered. I also had the polenta fries which were alright but under seasoned and a small kitchen salad which was also ok with a tasty dressing, but overpriced. Overall it's alright, but I probably won't go back. On a positive note, the service was good and the food came quickly. read more

may be It was a bad day! It tooks us 35 mins to get our salad ,the Mussels were cold ! So noisy! Very frustrated experience!

Visited for our wedding anniversary, made reservations were seated at the table right beside the kitchen- why bother with reservation if you get worst table in the place? Lots of noise. Kitchen was backed up so took 2 hours to get our appy. Calamari and prawns were heavily over salted and over cooked. Not good. Meals came a half hour later, and was average at best - I had pickerel ...meh... Husband ordered Tuna, they were sold out, so he subbed to steak- it was ok. Sides for both were bland and boring asparagus cooked in oil. Tastiest thing to eat was the blue cheese potatoes ordered a la cart. only high point was our server, she was aces! Upbeat and fairly attentive even with the long wait( Ashley was her name I believe? nursing student) She did take the appy off the bill as well. The meal was Extremely disappointing as we go out for a nice meal maybe two or three times a year and we wasted it on this. Do not plan to go back. read more

Awesome prawns and calamari! Amazing restaurant and amazing staff A+++++ by far! I would definitely order again!

We decided to try this restaurant based on Yelp reviews and we were glad we did because we loved it. My husband and I had the burger and my kids had the pasta. The best part of the meal was dessert though. The overall experience was excellent! read more

Stopped in Kamloops on our way to Kelowna, decided to try Mittz Kitchen, both my wife and I were very pleasantly surprised. Food was fresh, tasty and service excellent. Worth the stop! read more

This place has great appies and drinks. I had the duck two ways a while back and it was delicious.

I luv this restaurant...and staff very friendly and professional ...but watch your footing when walking to bathroom...''it's like ice''' as the grease from kitchen gets tracked onto flooring and shoes soles as walk to washroom...making walking treacherous. I've almost slipped several times ...a lawsuits waiting to happen guys... Not sure why they can't use degreaser on floor at end of day cleanup? But again...food good quality for Kamloops...and staffs very nice..not their fault floors a death trap! Please, please get this resolved...it's your only drawback! read more

Dinner at Twisted Olive was great, we had however a couple of missing ingredients our Cesar Salad-was missing the bacon, the cream brûlée was missing the fresh berries. We mentioned these items to our waitress who was fairly new, but lovely. Main items where excellent. read more

We have always come for happy hour which is excellent. Came for dinner for our anniversary and was awesome! Great service and great food!

I have had nothing but amazing food and service here! Unique menu and right in the heart of downtown. Check it out!!

If I could rate this place less than 1 star I would. My grandparents, my sister and I came here to celebrate my sisters graduation and got absolutely terrible service. We had to ask 3 times for water before the server would actually brought us some. We had to flag her down to order our food which is awkward no one wants to have to do that but we were getting really hungry. And then when she comes over she says "I see you guys are ready to order" in a snarky voice instead of apologizing. It took us an hour to finally get our food and when it did come they missed our appetizer and I had to send back my southwest chicken bowl as there was no flavor at all. Not even worth eating. No quality check or anything. Other tables weren't receiving their meals on time either. I don't know what was going on in this kitchen or the staff but this place is really not managed well. There should have been a manager come and apologize to our table. Don't come here unless you want to pay too much for food and have it not even taste good. Peace. read more

I've been here twice and had pretty differing experiences. First time was for dinner and I got the Mittz burger, and I would have given 5 stars for that experience. Second time was for lunch and I got a chicken dish and it was cold (meant to be hot) and very small considering the price. I definitely recommend it for dinner though. read more

My friend and I arrived at Mittz Kitchen to celebrate her birthday. Mary Claire (our lovely server) brought us calamary on prawns and a glass of Marcus James wine for a starter. My friend ordered the south west bowl and I tuna poke bowl. We managed to split a chocolate mousse for dessert and left extremely happy and satisfied. I highly recommend the food the atmosphere and the service. Mary Claire also gave my friend a $20 gift certificate for her return visit as a Birthday gift. We will be back. Thanks for making my friends birthday so wonderful! read more

Food (although pricey) tasted good. Service, however, was actually very poor. After we were told by our server "to not" order a particular wine from a local winery because "it shouldn't even be on the menu," we then waited approx. 15-20 minutes to have our food order taken, despite the fact she passed our table several times. Once our food was delivered (by other staff), our server did not check in with us once whilst we ate.... then came the process of getting the bill--at one point one of our party suggested that if we started to "get up to leave" that would prompt attention....It was a special celebration for our party, and we really hoped that the experience would improve following initial unprofessional comments regarding our local wine selection--but sadly it did not... won't be returning anytime read more

The food at Mittz is delicious. We both ordered the Cajun sirloin, it was perfectly cooked and the vegetables on the side were crisp. We had a chocolate cheesecake for dessert and it was sooo good. The service was a bit slow and at a couple points we could see the servers all just standing around the bar while we had been waiting to order for a bit. Other than that the staff was very friendly and the food was cooked to perfection. You can't ask for much more than that! read more

Very disappointed !! This used to be a favourite! We ordered and received our drinks and then never seen our waitress again . Someone else brought our meal which was sadly over done and I would have told our waitress or anyone working there but no one came to check on us until it was time for the bill at least 40 min later .It was a big disappointment both the service and the food was bad we were celebrating an anniversary and we told the server that . I'm not sure if there are new owners or if it was an off night but I won't go back . read more

Stunning food! I would highly recommend the risotto, it bursts with flavour! Good atmosphere and service.

Service was very good, however the quality of the meat (steak and burger) was very poor. I just had one bite of the Mitz burger and lost my appetite on meat. The ketchup and fries were ok, though. All in all I would not go there a second time. read more

Excellent drinks, a great menu with lots of options at very reasonable prices. Good ambiance and perfect seating. Attentive staff who always seem to show up at just the right time. I'm surprised this restaurant isn't busier for a May long weekend Sunday morning! read more

The mittz burger had many cool flavours and the Caesar salad was so fresh. The short rib flatbread was amazing - cheesy and flavourful. Great service too! read more

I came into this place, maybe foolishly, with high expectations. The service was great, our waitress, I believe her name was Claire, was lovely and tended to my friend and I exceptionally well. The place itself? Nice. I liked the decor, the acoustic play list did its job, and I was particularly drawn to the display of spoons on the wall. It was the food that let me down. I'll admit it very well may have been my choices that were poor, and for that reason I'll likely come back again and give it another go. I got the brisket sandwich, which I found rather dry. With the sandwich I chose the house salad, which was superb. In fact, while diving into it I couldn't stop telling my friend how great it was. I love risotto. It's great for any occasion. So when our waitress placed that little side dish in front of me I nearly had to cover my mouth to stop the drool from hitting the table. But, boy oh boy, was it ever bland. It completely lacked seasoning, and even the mushrooms seemed to disappear completely in the dish. Like Marco Pierre White said: "Taste, taste, taste!" In a restaurant like Mittz, i'm surprised a risotto so bland was let through the pass. C'mon now. read more
