I came into the cafe with my baby at 2:30pm and was told that I couldn't stay in to eat my wrap because they get too busy and needed lots of time for closing tasks.. I spent 40$ to be told that I pretty much had to go eat outside with my son in the cold. I used to love this cafe, now not so much. The barista failed to make my coffee right either. So disappointed to see this cafes customer service go right down hill. There were ample places free we could have sat down and ate. Being pushed out the door way before closing is not okay. read more

The espresso here is on a level with the best coffee shops in Canada. The ONLY place between Calgary and Vancouver where you can get a 'real' espresso for a world class barista. Nice urban coffee shop feel in down town Kamloops. Glad I found this place. I can't wait to get back and try more of their items. The food looks amazing as well. read more

This isn't just the best coffee place in Kamloops... I'm from Vancouver where there is "fancy" coffee on literally every block and this place beats anywhere I've been hands down. Iw was there for breakfast and the southwest breakfast wrap blew my mind. If you're on kamloops and you like coffee or food, go here. Seriously, do it. read more

Let's see where should I start.....stood in line and looked at the sandwiches which I was going to order until the cashier opened her big mouth. She was rushing everyone arguing with a barista as I ordered a medium Americano filled only half. Paid and then saw a cookie for $2.50 ordered it she said it was $2.75 I said no the sign says $2.50 as she proceeded to give me my change and put a quarter in the tip jar. Then got to my Americano which was filled to the brim with water. They were both rude. As I walked away they explain to another customer to enter a draw - never told me. I guess just selective customers. All the while this loud mouth cashier was horrible calling customers who haven't picked up their coffees "Ding ding dummies" Horrible !!! Other people working there were calling her rude and she was just a loud mouth annoying employee taking gibberish ! Motivo consistently makes the best espresso beverages in Kamloops. I am always very satisfied with the quality of the drinks, food, and service I get there. I usually order ua sugar free caramel latte (Motivo is one of the only places that uses sugar free syrups that are pleasant to taste), an americano, or a seasonal selection. The foam on the lattes is always perfect. The wonderful people who work at Motivo are genuinely friendly. The service is prompt. I appreciate the gluten free selections that they offer, including muffins, soups, sandwiches, salads, cookies, and more. They make lovely Sunday brunches as well. I highly recommend trying Motivo if you haven't already. You won't regret it. read more

The line up AFTER I arrived indicates that is NOT a HIDDEN gem. They use JJ Beans and vary the blend used based on the drink made. They used Eastside in mine. I prefer the Espresso JJ but won't hold that against them. read more

The staff was very kinda and attentive. I was looking at their desserts and one gentleman quickly asked if I wanted something. I told him I was trying to figure out what I was going to order. Place is good... For Kamloops, it's one of the better options. The desserts are incredible and they have the right beans, but I can't put them on the same level as some of the highly regarded spots like Revolver and 49th Parallel. Nonetheless, they're still a top local option if you're trying to get away from regular run of the mill coffee you'd find everywhere else. read more

Have I said how much I love Caffe Motivo? I've been coming here for eight years or so and it's gone from strength to strength. Fortunately the coffee hasn't as it's very good the way it is! It's how a coffee shop should be: predominantly locals, no tv, good sandwiches, wraps and pastries. The little desserts look amazing - I suspect my husband has tried a few of them in his coffee break from work! I believe they make and bake everything here. He informs me the sandwiches are fab, and his favourite cookie is the Special Oatmeal. I have lots of food allergies and I love how the staff say "I'll use the special jug for you" to keep it dairy and nuts free. It's the one place I don't have to watch how my coffee is made to ensure I am safe. Lastly, the bathroom is always clean and tidy, as are the whole premises. They also have Sacred Grounds Cafe at our local hospital, which is also a good sipping spot. read more

Motivo is a usual stop for me when back in Kamloops and this time was no exception. The JJ Bean is always dependable and the coffee-based drinks well made. The baked goods are unrivaled and as fresh as could be, with the bakery staff working hard just behind the baristas. Sandwiches, either breakfast or anytime have never not been delicious and the prices are quite reasonable. However, that said, Motivo could really benefit from a facelift, it's starting to look like a 90's dental office in there and boy, does that bum people out. Very good coffee beans, strong flavor and aroma, and the foam of the cappuccino was to my liking, nice and thick not to airy. Would stop here again. Haven't been here in a year or so and my experience was great as usual! The only place in Kamloops I've been where the baristas have consistently made a perfect cappuccino. I cannot recommend this place enough! Food is great, pastries are delightful, service is spot on and coffee is the best. Motivo is my favourite Kamloops coffee shop, I'm there at least once a week and I think the staff know me. They're so kind and accommodating, especially with all my questions about ingredients. I like that they sell bags of BC coffee, I like to buy Matchstick coffee beans here. And their espresso drinks are perfect, strong and smooth. The chai latte, London fog and frappe drinks are great too. I always like to get a muffin, as their baked goods are always fresh and very well made; I like that they're discounted in the afternoon. I recently tried one of their grilled pressed sandwiches that I really enjoyed too! read more

I ordered a latte and it was everything I expected for the price. They use good coffee beans for sure but it was still overpriced. I had a slice of banana bread as well and it was pretty good - a tad too moist but I would order it again. My friend had their bacon breakfast sandwich and we were both less than impressed. The sandwich was wrapped in plastic wrap and honestly looked like something you'd get at a college cafeteria. My friend said it was greasy and tasted worse than Tim Horton's. read more

Nice atmosphere and decor. Friendly staff. We stopped in for a coffee and sandwhich. I had the macaroni and cheese one, innovative, but it was still cold on the inside. Hard to warm it up on a panni grill I guess. We also had the breakfast burrito, that was tasty and hearty. The coffee is good, JJ roasts good stuff. Wish we had time to try dessert, they looked good.
