Best meal of the trip so far! This place is cozy and friendly and worth the wait! The service was incredibly friendly, the kind of people that take the time to get to know you, while also working happily and efficiently. My kind of people! We started with the carrot cake (best decision of my day) and I'm not a dessert person. We ate it while waiting for our lunch, which was pretty timely, especially considering how busy they were. We enjoyed the vertical garden salad and the funghi sandwich. Both were equally delicious! Our experience was so good we are coming back tomorrow for lunch! read more

Lovely people and vibe inside, service was commendable and very fast. There was not much indoor seating- however they did have lots of outdoor covered seating with heaters. Great coffee for a reasonable price. I loved the cappuccino's espresso to milk ratio and the foam art was just adorable. We tried the "Messy Jessie",which was good, nothing to write home about. Wish it had more avocado and sauce- also the egg was cooked over hard. We also tried the "original" breakfast sandwich which was pretty dry and lackluster. They also came with 3 semi-cooked, little potatoes, which were a random side, but seasoned well. I would definitely return for the coffee, but would maybe skip out on the breakfast sandwiches. read more

Super delicious and fresh cafe! We enjoyed the BEST smoothie EVER and all the meats and eggs are local. The breakfast sandwich was amazing and the bread was so fresh and fluffy. The restaurant owner was super friendly and shared all about the restaurant and gave awesome travel tips. There is indoor seating and shaded outdoor seating amongst gorgeous fresh flowers. I really liked the folks here, they were friendly. So I don't want to be too harsh, but these 2 stars are for them. Because the gluten free wrap I got here was the smallest, least filled wrap I have EVER gotten in my life. If there was 1/4 of an egg in it even...there wasn't a full strip of bacon...this thing was so deficient. Really, unbelievably small. Wtf?!? We visited for breakfast in early July. They weren't very busy and we put in a big order. They were very friendly and accommodating. They were able to veganize the burrito for me by taking out the cheese and chipotle mayo and replacing them with guacamole. It was delicious! I also tried the raw vegan brownie because I rarely see vegan desserts; it did not disappoint! My husband had the breakfast wrap which he said was good. My almond milk latte was great and my husband enjoyed his Americano. We were low on coffee at our rental and I asked if they could sell us whole bean coffee. They did, a huge bag for wholesale prices! It's great coffee too! It took a little while for the two women working there to prep our food, but everything was made to order. I can see how it would get slow when it's busy. However we were in no rush, and we were very happy with our meals. Note that there is limited seating both in and outside! read more

In a ski resort town you either get caféteria-style places, pizza-by-the-slice, or expensive dining. Rarely do you find a place that serves good food and coffee at great prices. Vertical is one of those places. Made to order sandwich and a coffee for about $10. But what made it really jump out is the sandwich was filled with fresh ingredients. And I mean FRESH! I went there for lunch and ordered a Mega (possibly Vega) bowl containing quinoa, spinach, beets, chicken and a host of other add ons like seeds with a peanut thai sauce. It was rather tasty but since it was served in a large coffee mug, it was hard to evenly mix all the toppings and ingredients. Because of that, I ended up with all spinach on top with most of the dressing and while all the ingredients were good, it would have worked far better in a bowl and if it was better mixed. It took quite a while for the food to come out as well, though there were 4 of us in the group. I would certainly go to Bolacco instead of lunch in the future, though I do understand that this would be a better place to go to for smoothies and healthy eating options. I'd lean closer to 3.5 stars though if possible. The bowl at around $8 was reasonable good value but not very satisfying if you have a large appetite. I could have easily eaten two of them. read more

The breakfast sandwiches were quite tasty, definitely a good start to the ski day IF you have plenty of time to wait. I'm not sure if they were just understaffed but it took us literally 30 minutes to get two drinks & two sandwiches. Their credit card machine was broken & they were more focused on fixing that than serving customers, which is fine, but once it was fixed it still took another 10+ minutes to get our food. There are a couple of spots for espresso at Sun Peaks, but this joint is the best. Not a big space, but room enough and convenient located for takeaway. Organic coffees, teas, rooibos, smoothies. Great taste, fair prices (especially for a resort), and super friendly staff. A must when am espresso fix. read more
