Looking for a Post skiing place to eat. We walked over to Cahilty Creek for a bite. They have daily drinks specials. Beautiful bar right on the slopes and a separate dining area upstairs. Perfect for Apres ski. Enjoyed the burger with Cajun fries and the chicken and bacon flatbread. Excellent food and great service. Definitely worth going back. read more

I'm not sure what's going on in Sun Peaks but all the restaurants seem to get poor reviews. You have a captive audience I suppose. We weren't too hungry so ordered the "nachos" but the waitress convinced us it would not be enough. Her description of the dish kind of threw us. But, this dish isn't nachos. It is really a plate of tostadas. It was fine. Classic bar snack kind of fare. We also got the falafel wrap, which was likewise your typical pub grub. I don't think this place quite deserves the low rating. I'd eat here again. But come with limited expectations. read more

Happy hour was terrific! Right at the bottom of the slopes so you can ski in. Great beer selection and delicious appetizers. Shrimp was spicy and delicious. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. They even had Xmas carolers come by that passed out candy canes. Typical bar vibe. read more

Stopped in after an afternoon hike. I read mixed reviews, mostly bad. We thought we'd give it a try. We got there in time for happy hour. Ordered a burger, chicken wings and lettuce wraps. The burger was mediocre, nothing exciting, enough to make a teenager happy. The chicken wings were okay, very skimpy and the lettuce wraps...ughhhhh! Should be called Jalapeño wraps. Super spicy mango salsa, figured it was to cover up for lack of flavor. My husband loves super spicy but this was on another level. Low end flavors. Very unfortunate since it's in a great location. Has awesome outdoor seating, views and indoor was nice, updated and clean. The staff was awesome, friendly and extremely attentive. read more

Fast friendly service, I ordered the Cahilty burger with fries which arrived hot. The place looks like it could use a good cleaning. The traditional Absinthe is made with an excellent Absinthe which is being destroyed by a complete abomination of presentation. Absinthe was never presented this way it was a ritual created by Czech absinthe producers to cover the taste of their horrible absinthe. This place is a model for how to drive business away from your restaurant. We first sat outside after checking in with the hostess/waitress. Sat for a while, she's nowhere to be found. Ok, we go inside, are told: sit anywhere you like. We do, we'll now we have to move because even though the restaurant is completely deserted the table we sat at is for a bigger party. Fine. Can I substitute the toast for potatoes? No, extra charge, finally obliges to do it after we point out that both toast and potatoes are extra $4 on the menu. Can we see the lunch menu? Sure, can I order breakfast and something from a lunch menu ... no but breakfast ends in 10 minutes. We sat there arguing with these fools and finally left. We don't put up with bullshit, neither should you. Pass on this lousy place. We went across the street to a place with way better attitude and service. read more

First off we are are staying at the Cahilty Lodge so this slope side pub is a perfect stop off for apres ski. Second we only had snacks so I am judging based in that. Lock the skis up slope side and step right in. 15:00-17:00 happy hour has $5 appetizers and pitchers of beer. We had: 2 pitchers of Cantebury Mimd Dark Ale 5* 2 pounds of maple bacon dry rub wings 5* 1 pound of Cajun dry rub wings 4* (bit salty) 2 Beef brisket tacos 3* (unmexican tacos?) It is fun to sit at the window and watch beginner lessons go by or watch the end of day skiers come off the hill. Ok downgrade to 4 stars because the breakfast buffet was no better than what you could cook I your suite at a fraction of the price. read more

This place used to be amazing when it was Mackers! We have been coming here since 2002. This place has gone downhill big time with their customer service!! The food is good; but the staff is beyond rude. Not at all what it used to be. Particularity the lady with glasses behind the bar who also serves tables, assuming she is the manager; most definitely not someone who should ever be in the customer service industry. We were there for my birthday. The service was fast but the food quality wasn't great. My order of ribs was cold, but they did give me another order that was better. Still the beef ribs was very tough. My husband had the burger and for $22 he was expecting better then what he got. My daughter is vegan and had the vegetarian burger. The server didn't seem to know much about it. As it turn out that burger was less then excellent not to mention the fries were not that good either. Bottom line considering how many restaurant there are at Sun Peak, I think they need to up there game to get better review. On the bright side, they did give me a free desert to make up for the cold meal. read more

Good place for happy hour in the sun with a view. Good beer and cider, the food was ok but would not get the fries or pulled pork tostadas again. Our server seemed to run the place and was fantastic, great smile, quick service and happy. He talked to our 4 year old like a dad and looked like he loved his job. Our #1 lunch on the mountain was the Cahilty lodge. The burgers were killer!!! The wings were awesome. Service with a smile. And a simple far-left ride down the mountain...no hiking required. Happy hour is 3-5...should go for $5/pound!! Red nose bandit stout was really deluxe. 8%...made tightening those boots up after lunch much less painful. Truth is,I think this 2012 review needs to go away. Sad that my review made this a 3 star only...it's a great spot, and oh, by the way, the music is super fun, even if you didn't go to high school in the 80's! Haha read more

They have great mesures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. And out of all, not a bad restaurant. But if/when you order, go with a simpler option, cause it isn't they best restaurant for something like a steak or the chicken waffle sandwich. read more

My experience at the Cahilty Creek Bar and Grill was only fair. Though our server was very nice, we had a very long wait for food, and all of our pizzas, though ample, were lackluster. Toppings were ok, but the pizzas were dry, overly browned, and with almost no discernible sauce. The crust was semi-thick, but didn't have the chew of an artisanal pizza dough. A home-warmed, frozen pizza, left in the oven three minutes too long would be the equal. If you crave pizza, though--which I can totally understand--as one of the locals said, "It gets the job done." read more

I wish I could say expectations were high but they weren't based on either lack of or quality of reviews on Yelp. Made a reservation and arrived to a half empty restaurant, now I know why. Unfortunately the fairly attentive waiter staff couldn't do much to undo whatever was going on in the kitchen, based on our wait it wasn't cooking. My 'Steak En Frite' arrived with a steak smaller than my palm, fries were fatty and salad I ignored. My wife's steak was not cooked to her liking, neither of us were really surprised, it is what it is. I appreciate how needy and unappreciative these type of reviews come off but the truth is in a town so small attached to a name like Nancy Greene, a restaurant like this can do so much better, c'mon guys! read more

Kids liked their food and the complimentary mini sundae. I had the seared ahi and my wife had the rolled chicken which we both enjoyed. Location is inside the Cahilty Lodge on the home run to the hotels off the mountain (note that a lot of skiers skip this - hard to get to - run and simply walk a hundred yards from the lifts). The interior and menu has nothing special - a run-of-the mill mountain burger joint. Visited for a dinner and was somewhat disappointed: the food came very late and was tasteless: the quality and quantity of meat was good, grilled to proper level, yet not tasty at all. This might be a good place for an inexpensive burger for lunch or even dinner; if you are looking for better food, it does not come cheap here, so find an extra $5-10 per person and head to the Steakhouse at Sun Peaks Lodge. read more

One, a chicken Cesar salad, had to be returned-it was doused in hot pepper powder making it inedible. Had the chicken wings, super-oily but generally okay. Then the giant beef rib with mash, if you are going to serve beef ribs try leaving some meat on them after you have taken the other cuts off. Don't just cremate them to hell and hope they pass as roasted! As for the jus with it, if it looks see through and tastes watery, then help it out a bit till it fits the part, don't just serve it anyway. Service is good but can't make up for seriously underwhelming food. Also, if you do use a pump for soft drinks clean out the pipes before service so they don't make the drinks taste of chlorine. read more

I should have known when the place was empty that the food would be disappointing. I had the chicken pot pie and I'm quite sure it was a can of Campbell's chunky soup with some lame pastry on top. The kids menu listed "Mac and cheese" and it actually says they use Kraft Dinner on the menu. This will be the only time I spend my money there. Oh me and my wife went here the last night of our honeymoon and it was amazing glad it was the last night because other wise we wouldn't know anywhere else to go. She had the steak and I tried it and it was perfect and amazing. I had the ribs they were falling off the bone good. We also had the artichoke dip and it was good the home made chips made it great. Also the service was great. Doesn't look like much from the out side but the food was well worth the visit. Definitely going back next time we are in town. read more

Our family and a friend's family were skiing and staying in the village at Sun Peaks, BC. We made a reservation at one of the few restaurants that looked kid friendly (our kids are 7 and 11) When we arrived at the restaurant our table was ready and the atmosphere was nice. Things went downhill from there. Our order was taken and it took probably 15 minutes to even get water. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks and the place was nowhere near full. It was quite a challenge to keep four kids entertained for an hour....luckily they did have some crayons. The waitress at one point came to our table and said she was going to try to get the kids meals our quicker. All the food came at once and the quality was not that good. I ordered a burger and it was dry and tasteless. Our kids mac n cheese was basically the same a Kraft, very small portions. The one thing that was actually good was the side of zesty mashed potatoes 9I think this is one of their signature items) that came with the ribs. I would not go back here again. Sun Peaks listen up.....you need more restaurants that are good for kids and don't take an hour to get your food. read more
