Not sure how they get off charging what they do and calling themselves high end. Customer service after you buy is terrible. Bought $2100 chair and they screwed up button placement- how did this leave the warehouse without anyone noticing? To make it much worse, rather than simply replacing the chair because it's the right thing to do, they are putting us through the ringer sending "technicians" out to the house to move the buttons because it's cheaper for them. So many phone calls and much time wasted. The "customer experience associate" was actually hostile- never been treated so badly as a customer- and they are 100% in the wrong here. Never again, they do not care about their customers just the initial sale. In addition to this issue with the buttons, we also had issue with the couch we bought-they delivered without the brackets that held it together and had to come back. read more

We ordered a pair of "quick ship", "ships in 5 days" chairs in October. We've now been waiting two months. Three different delivery timelines have come and gone. MG+BW do not communicate in any way. Every time they miss a date, we have to contact them for an update. At this point they won't even give us a new estimate. Meanwhile, these very same chairs are still advertised on the website as "ships in 8-10 days". That is a straight up lie! We called to cancel our order, they promised a call back within "3 to 5 business days" to confirm. It didn't happen. We were not surprised. We have, of course, not received a refund. We've now filed a dispute with our credit card company and a complaint with the BBB. Total nightmare. We just hope we get our money back some day. read more

Occasional pieces/case goods are really quite bad. They are made overseas and it shows. The upholstery is made in USA and fine. We moved from MA to LA, and the dining chairs from MGBW were totally fine, but the side tables and case goods were chipped and looked beat. As an aside I have furniture from other brands (Stickley, Century, Baker, Hickory Chair, Herman Miller, etc.) and they held up perfectly, so it wasn't the movers fault. That said if you are just buying it to fill out a space and don't intend on it lasting a move, then it looks pretty good. I really think its overpriced for the longevity though. read more

I ordered a coffee table just to see how it would look, after waiting for the delivery way later than they said, I decided that it didn't go with the room. When I went to the store to return the table, they wouldn't accept it and said I have to repackage it and ship it back instead of just taken it back. read more

I am embarrassed to say that I read the deplorable customer service reviews and yet boldly proceeded with my order. I am shocked that a business completely disregards their customers and commitments. I ordered a clearance pendant light that had a commitment of 2-3 week ship times. This shipment schedule was confirmed when I spoke with a design representative. I have made numerous calls to the customer service number and asked for a return call (none received), a delivery date (non-provided) or a refund (no response). Mitchell Gold failed to provide me a receipt, but did manage to charge my credit card they day I placed the order. I went to the Better Business Bureau and was horrified to see the number of complaints filed against this organization. I am frustrated that there seems to be no recourse other than to ensure no one else makes the same mistake. There are plenty of reputable, high-end furniture stores; do not make the mistake of supporting this disreputable and disrespectful organization. read more

The staff is very nice, the furniture is amazing (they have a very deep selection of MG+BW furniture), and there are frequent sales. The 2-star review is for the horrific delivery service used by this store, and potentially all MG+MW locations. The service is called Sun Delivery Systems. I ordered 5 pieces of furniture, including a sectional. The delivery service called me multiple times per week over a 2-month period as pieces were finished asking if they could deliver what they had. Wanting to avoid a delivery surcharge for multiple trips, my answer was always "no - call me when you have all of it" I am finally having everything delivered this weekend. They deliver from 7am-9pm, and give you a TWO DAY window when they will come. You are purportedly supposed to be available for all of this time (which by the way, is during the work week, and has NO flexibility). This window narrows to four hours the day before they are coming. This is worse than comcast. The furniture looks amazing and is high-quality, but I am so annoyed by the delivery process I am not even excited to get it anymore. read more

Donna, the manager at Mitchell Gold in Natick, has been a pleasure to work with. I was planning on giving them a 5 star review until delivery day. They gave me a window of three hours and I'm still waiting for my furniture- going on 8 hours. I realize that issues arise and deliveries can't always be on time, but I planned my entire day waiting for the delivery. My husbands company holiday party is this evening and we now have to miss it. I'd say that plus or minus 90 minutes is acceptable outside a given delivery time frame This is just inexcusable. read more

Before the holiday I purchased a bedroom set at the Natick store. I usually shop at the Boston store and have had a good experience. What occurred after the sale is almost unbelievable! Furniture was in stock except for bed which was custom made. When it came time to deliver the nightstands and dresser, the dresser went from in transit to backordered till July. It took 3 weeks to find this out. The salesman would not return emails, regional manager did not either. Called corporate - total waste of time. Canceled dresser and bought one at Room and Board, delivered in 3 weeks, great experience! Now for the bed, scheduled delivery, they canceled 2 hours before. I had to reassemble my bed. Following sat, never showed up, no one picks up the phone! Get a text with the useless "I'm sorry" had to put my bed back together - 2x. Then came next day on Sunday at 7:30am with only the driver for a queen bed that weighs 400 pounds. Movers said it would not fit up my stairs and that the store was to come out an measure. NOPE! For me to take delivery The bed would have to be professionally taken apart by a furniture upholsterer and re-assembled. I had to assemble my old bed for the 3rd time! I canceled the order after 30 plus emails, hours on the phone. This is not a luxury brand anymore. I would have gotten better service at Bobs Furniture! read more

Had a great experience shopping at MG+BW. The staff is SO nice and really good at what they do. My mom and I had spent at least 5 months looking for couches.. and we were finally referred to MG+BW. Within 2 days, we ordered our entire living room. Prices are very reasonable, especially when they have a sale! (Beware, the showroom gets really messy). They also match any price that Bloomingdale's gives you. Can't wait to see the results and I will report back on my delivery experience. read more

Let me say right off the bat that I love MG+BW furniture. Love the design, love the quality and love the price. It's scandalously hard to find affordable, well-made modern furniture here in the Boston area. That's why I was so thrilled to find everything I needed for my new living room at Mitchell Gold. All for under $10K. The sales people are talented design-wise and helpful; the selection of fabrics and furniture styles are great. Now for the bad news. Customer service, inventory management and order delivery is a nightmare. Last week, one of my sales people told me that I could expect delivery this week (only a week after what I was originally promised). This week, a different sales person emailed to tell me that the first 1/2 of my shipment was coming in 3 weeks and the remainder was delayed for 2 months. When I bought the units, they were listed as "in stock" but suddenly my pieces had vanished - clearly they were given to other customers or other stores like Bloomingdales. We bought a $3600 sectional from Mitchell Gold in Natick in 2008. This year the fabric started splitting for reasons we don't know, and the sectional had spent most of its life in our weekend home so it isn't like it got heavy use. After a little back and forth with the store, they agreed to dispatch their upholstery team - all the way from Beverly to Falmouth on the Cape. They arrived on time, spent 45 minutes doing a great repair and left. That's is pretty darned good customer service, I'd say! Five stars for Mitchell Gold (the repair was gratis, by the way). read more

Bad quality. My chairs were broken after I got them 2 months later. Very terrible customer service. Called the customer service 2 weeks ago and sent that agent the pics as her request. She said she needs to ask her manger who was not there. She told me she will call me back on Monday which was yesterday, and didn't respond. So I Called her today, and she said that she will ask her manager (which means she never talked with her manager about this). She said that she will call me back immediately. After an hour of waiting, I decided to stop waiting and call her. Then I was been told that she already left. I asked if I can speak to the manager, that lady said the manager is with a customer right now. Then she went to check, and came back told me that the manager also left. I won't buy anything from this store anymore. read more

She helps pull everything together and goes above and beyond (including carrying one of her chairs down the street to a nearby store to make sure it would match with a table we were considering!). I second the comments on Sun Delivery. They are incompetent. They require a two-day commitment and won't budge on it. If you can't commit to the two days they have open, then you go back to the bottom of the delivery list. They promised they would get the delivery to me on the date specified, then didn't make it, requiring me to pay for an overnight hotel stay just for them. When they arrived the next day, the merchandise was damaged so I refused delivery. It's now three weeks later, and they required me again to commit to a two-day window for the delivery of the repaired goods. I agreed to do that, postponing a business trip for two days just to wait for them. I'm now waiting on the delivery and called them twice today for some kind of update. They've just called back to say the delivery has been canceled and they'll put it on the calendar at some later date! I don't know why Mitchell Gold does business with Sun Delivery. read more
