Finally got to stop by this local ice cream shop. It was nice not having to track down the truck this time. The store itself is simple, with no seating inside. There's a small merchandise area where they sell hoodies, T-shirts, and even a toy ice cream truck. I noticed they had a large selection of ice cream and really appreciated the assortment of cones available. The prices were a little higher than I expected, but the customer service was good. They also offer a BOGO sundae special on Tuesdays, which I definitely plan to take advantage of in the future. For such a nostalgic company, though, I do wish they had some seating so people could sit, talk, and enjoy their ice cream with family and friends. Overall, it's a fun stop for a sweet treat, but adding a small seating area would really make the experience feel more complete. read more

Came for a late night sweet treat to celebrate my moms birthday! I was surprised how small the selection of ice cream is considering this is an ice cream shop. I went with the ice cream burger which comes with 4 kinds of ice cream so I did Cookie Monster, biscoff cheesecake, chunky monkey and I forget the last flavor but it's sandwiched between two waffle cone 'pattys' dipped in chocolate with sprinkles-it was huge and very tasty! My mom went with the ice cream nachos which was waffle cone 'chips' ice cream and she chose peanut butter sauce. This was just ok-the pb sauce tasted like skippy pb-it does not compare to Ralph's peanut butter sauce at all. Here's the Scoop! We all remember the Siftee ice cream truck coming down our block or at the park. Well now you can go to the store. It's located on Carlton Avenue in Islip. Oh boy the choices are delicious and so, so good. I ordered a waffle bowl with soft serve vanilla, nuts, black cherries and whipped cream topping. Yum, yum, yum!!! My husband and I couldn't believe our eyes when we stumbled upon this Mister Softee store in East Islip. We stopped in on an a weekday evening after dinner and they were busy. There were a good amount of staff and they were working quickly and efficiently to keep wait times low. They had different things to choose from including soft serve, ice cream, sundaes, and more. Their ice cream flavors were enticing to try since there was a nice variety, but my hubby and I went with a classic Mister Softee soft serve: a chocolate one for him and a vanilla dipped in cherry for me. We also couldn't resist and ended up getting a Mjster Softee truck coin bank! Of course our treats were delicious, service was friendly, and the vibe of being in an actual Mister Softee store could not be beat. A positive experience overall. We would definitely return in the future and can't wait to try some of their ice cream flavors next time. read more

I'll start with the good, then roll into the bad and ugly haha. Cause there's a fair share of all. The good - the place is new, bright, clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The selection is solid, and the ice cream is delicious and par for what you expect from a Mister Softee truck. We got 2 large soft serve cups and 2 waffle bowls - dips and sprinkles or crunchies. Now let's get to the bad. First, it's new and a hot spot to try so the place is always packed. Wait isn't that bad, their through put is decent. But expect a wait. Parking is also horrible. It was already bad in this strip mall, and is ten times worse now that Softee has moved in. A child has already been hit there by a truck backing out - so please be careful. But the real kicker for why I probably won't be back... the price is insane. Four bowls was $32, before a tip. They nickel and dime you for any toppings - none are included. And I didn't see those topping prices advertised in their signage. The language read more like "add any topping". There should've been a prominent display of the upcharge. And what's worse - the price they display on their signage doesn't match what they charge you, which makes me think they're displaying cash prices instead of the highest price - a no no that's illegal in NYS. So yeah, glad I tried it. But I won't be back anytime soon. read more

My wife convinced me to get it I knew was a bad idea. I ordered the ice cream sandwich. Six scoops of ice cream or four big scoops of ice cream in between two waffles. After you choose your ice cream, they dip it into one of three sauces a chocolate sauce, a cherry sauce or a blue raspberry sauce and then they dip it in sprinkles. It is definitely big enough to share between two or more people in my opinion and I wish I didn't eat all six scoops of ice cream and two waffles but I did because I paid $10 for an ice cream burger. I'll only get it again if I share, but I definitely did not regret my decision. It's super unique and really fun experience to have. The way I RAN to the new Mister Softee Store omg! It's the first store on Long Island if it's kind and an hour outside of NYC. They just opened on March 1. I was lucky the line wasn't super long today but I can only imagine what it will be like in the summer! Everything was clean and new. Workers were quick and friendly. Mister Softee is hands down my favorite ice cream truck, and I was SO excited to go to their physical store in Long Island, but the experience was not all it was made out to be. First of all, there was barely any parking or space to even eat the ice cream - so I saw everyone just eating their ice cream on top of their cars. Secondly, the store was so tiny and I felt so cramped inside the store. There were only two soft serve flavors and a bunch of other regular ice cream flavors. I got the chocolate with oreo and it was SOO expensive. On the screen it said it was $5ish, but the total came out to $6+!!! It was SOO much more expensive than normal Mister Softee ice cream trucks. Not to mention, the oreos came in GIANT chunks, so you have to finish the actual oreo pieces before you get to the ice cream. Which isn't intuitive at all because the ice cream melts fast... so it was an awful experience. I wish the oreos were dust powder instead of chunks, or at least put the oreos on the side ??? I wish the employees had the decency to tell me that the oreos came in giant chunks...so I would know how to plan ahead of time. I do not recommend that experience because the ice cream got all over my hands due to me not being able to actually eat the ice cream due to the giant oreo chunks. I live a couple of minutes away so figured I'd stop in with my husband. For starters: the line is long! It's always long, we drive by all the time and it's always out the door but we decided to bite the bullet and go in. Parking is atrocious so we just parked on the side street which is literally equivalent to parking at the far end of the lot but I've got to say, despite the long line, wait time was better than I expected. Pros: I mean... Mister Softee has a brick and mortar store how cool is that. Cons: garbage outside was full and people kept putting stuff in so it ends up just falling on the floor right in front of the store. One of the TV's isn't on? Wondering if there was menu related stuff on there. I kept seeing people walk out with such cool concoctions but from the three monitors that did work I just saw basic stuff (pricing of diff size cups, types of toppings, shakes, banana boats). There was a dry erase board that mentioned a Dubai chocolate sundae I got a hot fudge sundae. I could've went to carvel or friendly's 5 minutes away for the same thing to be honest. Ice cream selection inconsistent, they had 2 amazing flavors for soft serve, strawberry and the banana, and those in a milkshake were amazing. I don't understand why you remove two classic flavors that were awesome and now after 3 times being there the lack of consistency is obvious. Went there today and we were so excited and wanted to wait for a good time when it wasn't as crowded. Thankfully we were the only ones in there initially in the early afternoon. In my opinion only.... The quality and taste of the ice cream was good. Pricey but not horrible bcz it is Mister Softee, and we don't mind paying the price for it. However, so disappointing to see that the place was a complete mess when there were 4 teens behind the counter laughing and carrying on when they clearly should have been cleaning up when it was quiet. Melted Ice cream and toppings allllll over the floors, all over every counter, the register , etc. Don't know if the owner was on site but wanted to comment bcz it is a great addition to the neighborhood and want it to succeed. Went there tonight with my wife and son. Line was 45 minutes but we thought it would be worth it. We never found out because after placing our order for one bubble waffle twist ice cream and paid for it, we were asked to proceed to the front of the store. Told it would be 5 minutes. Well after 15 minutes and noticing customers who were behind us were getting there bubble waffle cones I reminded the worker who took my order. He said we were next up. Two more bubble waffle ice creams came out to more customers who were behind us in line. So then I told the owner about it, he basically nodded at me and walked towards the back of the store...he looked useless but happy his store is taking in $$$ for him. So after almost 65 minutes in total I asked for my money back and we left to Cold Stone Creamery. MUCH better service and establishment. I see this place doing well at first but the novelty will wear off and if customers keep getting treated like we did, sales will decline. Had been very much looking forward to going here and the hype is not worth it. Yes, it is clean and line moves quickly but this is a very small storefront. Went at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday and wanted four waffle bowls-was told they ran out from the young woman behind the counter. Overheard another patron actually told by his counter person if he wanted he would make him one--which was annoying as my server never offered the same. They also had no cookie dough topping left in stock (not the biggest deal breaker as this could happen in other places). The price however is outrageous! 3 medium soft serve cups (and the size of the medium is quite small) plus one hard scoop cup, each having one topping came to $27.43. Better off going to Carvel for soft serve or buying off your local Mister Softee truck. Will not be back due to customer service and pricing. Even more bizarre is the receipt states it is from Atlantic Avenue, Amagansett, NY when we were at the EAST ISLIP store. read more
