This is hands down thee BEST mission bbq, I've been to. I had baby back ribs, coleslaw and string beans. The ribs were so tender u didn't even need to cut them . The cole slaw and string beans were super good as well. I always enjoy looking at the many pictures of service men and women, along with those that were EMT's , Firemen and Paramedics. It feels amazing to know that your dollars on food spent is going towards a good cause . The decor is very much giving off "mission"... There was plenty of inside seating and there was outside seating as well. Definitely will be back to this location. The food is consistently delicious the brisket is tender, the pulled pork is flavorful, and the sides (especially the mac & cheese and coleslaw) never disappoint. Came here to visit after our lowes trip. We ate outside since it was a beautiful day out. Nice n breezy. This place sells Pepsi as their fountain soda. They also have bottles of other sodas on ice if you want other lower brands. They brought us all 6 bbq sauces and napkins after we ordered. I got the brisket (moist) platter with mac n cheese and peach cobbler. Kevin had the brisket (moist) sandwich with mac n cheese and potato salad. One standout thing for me is that this is the only BBQ place I know of that serves steak, which is a rare (no pun) option. I had Mission in the Mechanicsburg PA area before and liked it. This time it was just average. The lean brisket was pretty good, but I didn't like the bbq sauces. I tried smoky mountain and Memphis belle and they were both far below expectations. It was so unfulfilling that I opted to use my Giant brand sauce in the refrigerator. The fries were decent and the turkey was not great. Even the cornbread was just meh. Nothing was bad (except the sauce), but I expected better. Overall, I don't eat meat UNLESS I have a craving. So, I got the Meat Plate with XXL Combo, an additional $7, with Salmon for an additional $5.50. All together, my order came up to a little over $33. But I got salmon for me, brisket, and pulled pork for my BF, with Mac and Cheese and peach cobble (which I'm shocked is a side), and lemonade. I tasted a pinch of the brisket and pork to write this review, and I must say, they are as good as I was told. Though I thought it was a bit pricey, I do plan to return. Oh, and Denary, at the register is a delight. Very mannerable. My only complaint is that they don't offer a tip option on the receipt. Because I WOULD'VE LOVED TO HAVE TIPPED HIM . Sides- ** Greens ** Cornbread ** Baked beans (which I normally despise), but these had the right amount of sweetness and moisture. Hell, even their mac & cheese was nice....but the only thing slightly under seasoned and I would still give that an 8.5/10. Everything else gets a 10/10. First visit was to the Laurel store and this was the first time at this location and the food was just as good - better actually. They even give you an option of having brisket with or without fat. Seems kind of ridiculous to me cuz who wants "lean" brisket? Some good barbecue in DC? Yes please. Finally. I saw their black plate special was smoked prime rib and it looked pretty good so I decided to try it. When it first came out, at first sight I was turned all the way off. It was red and juicy. Don't get me wrong, I love a medium steak but this thing was high red. The manager told me it comes rare. I kind of wished the young lady that took my order told me that! Nevertheless, I asked that they put it back in the oven for me to soak up some of that blood. They did it and it came out looking like the attached picture. It was soo tender and delicious. Visted Annapolis Mission BBQ for lunch today with my elderly mother and husband. While waiting on my husband I had asked a gentleman if they had coffee and it was conveyed they did not but the gentleman I spoke with offered to run down to the donut shop to get coffee for my mom. Although I appreciated the offer I declined. He insisted and conveyed he needed to step outside anyway. He finally won me over and I agreed. Not only did he run and get my mother coffee he wouldn't take any money - I later found out his name was Justin and he was one of the managers. A big shout out also to Caitlyn who is the DR Hostess - she was very patient with my mother and kept talking with her. She later presented us each with a "free sandwich" card. Talking about going the beyond the call of duty. I cannot express my sincerest graditude to them both for making my mother's first visit there so special. I tried mission lastnight in my search for a good bbq spot close to DC. There is a drought in good bbq in the DMV. I always start with the three meat sampler. I got brisket, baby back ribs, and turkey... I opted for the more lean pieces, the cashier explained it would be a dryer option than the fatty portion which would be juicer. I wasn't disappointed. I got all 6 dipping sauces and all of them were good except one, to me, that tasted like a light mumbo sauce, a dc carryout sauce thing, but it didn't appeal to me. The sauces are a great mix for the most picky tastebuds. I recommend them for their meat, I didn't try the sides, I don't want to judge a bbq spot on sides when the meat is the star. On Sunday Oct 9, 2022 Mission BBQ Waldorf Md., my wife and I purchased a takeout order. It was one of those days we had a taste for some really good BBR Ribs and I was looking forward to eating the ribs all day. One item on the order was the St Louis Style Ribs-10 bone. When I got home and tasted the St Louis Ribs, I was very disappointed. The meat fell off the bone, but the meat was tasteless, the ribs were so salty it was unbelievable. Perhaps the rub had too much salt, and the ribs were over seasoned, and I had to pitch them. Thank God I had the Sausage (Jalapeno) to eat, that is some good stuff. But the story gets better ....... Having been a regular customer, we have always had great service and the food was the best, so I was very surprised. I live 15 miles away, it was late in the afternoon, and it just isn't worth making a return trip to salvage my order. I was not a happy "camper" ......I seldom make complaints or write reviews but this time I did, and I went to the Mission BBQ web site and made my complaint. Thinking nothing would come out of it, I was wrong. To my surprise I had got a quick response from the area director, a fellow named Douglas with an apology, and he said he would send some gifts cards to make it right. Mission BBQ always has great food and service, and sometimes mistakes happen, and I am overwhelmed with their response in making it up with me and sending me a gift card. Customer satisfaction must be a high priority with Mission BBQ, and that goes a long way for me. I will soon be back for some great BBQ. I went to go visit Mission BBQ the other day with my husband and the food blew my mind away. I ordered the Moist Brisket, with the Mac and Cheese and Green Beans. The atmosphere was just so positive everyone had a smile on their face and all of the people in that establishment were very friendly. When my food was showed to me there was this young man named Kyrie even with all his energy he made us very welcomed, asked us how our days were, and made sure we had everything we need.
