My wife had Chicken and Ribs with Yams and Collard Greens as sides. In my opinion as a cook, ribs should be edible without sauce. The sauce is a bonus and if the ribs are not seasoned right, the sause will maskl or enhance their flavor. These ribs were AMAZING!. Smoky, juicy, and tasty. I did not touch the sauce. The whiting was also great, well seasoned and not overcooked. I sampled some of chicken my wife ordered and it too was very good. The mac and cheese was ok and the green beans were ok. I also had the Collards and they were excellent. This is a Hidden gem and I might drive the 70 Miles to try the Brisket, if it was sold out early in the afternoon, then it must really be good. That level of attentiveness is rare and appreciated. We ordered quite a variety, including squid, shredded chicken, shredded beef, shrimp, rolled beef, top steak, and several sushi selections. Most of the food was good, and everything arrived promptly. The sushi was decent, though not quite as fresh as I expected. I was also surprised that the top steak came as small cubes rather than a steak portion. The biggest disappointment was the no take-home policy. As first-time visitors, we didn't realize how much food would come with some of our orders and ended up leaving a significant amount behind. It's frustrating to see good food go to waste after you've already paid for the meal. The restaurant itself could use some updating. Several booth seats were worn and cracked, with foam showing through the upholstery. At $32-$37 per person, the dining area should feel a little more refreshed.
