Glad we have a new spot in the area to liven up the restaurant choices. It's a prime location for people running errands down Stephanie to stop and grab some lunch. The service was enthusiastic and servers stopped by our table frequently to check on us. The restaurant was busy and fairly loud, but had plenty of seating even at a peak hour. I liked the baked beans and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was creamy and rich and the baked beans were sweet with pieces of brisket throughout. The pulled chicken sandwich and half bird were both just okay. The bread on the sandwich wasn't my favorite. The cornbread also was a little too condensed and tasted like it'd been frozen prior. The array of sauces to pick from is a nice touch because there's something for everyone. We also really liked their sweet tea a lot, so I'll probably come back here sometime in the future just for the tea. Some may find it a bit too sweet, but it's perfect for those of us from the south. Overall, the prices are a little steep for us to feel like it's an amazing value, especially because I'm used to BBQ that comes with two sides + cornbread for about $15. Pretty good food! Service was very attentive and they come check on you multiple times. I went for lunch on a Friday about 115 decent crowd. We ordered 2 meat combo, brisket and baby back ribs, 3 sides to try ( cheesy potatoes, Mac and cheese and baked beans) with a complimentary corn bread. They have a bunch of bbq sauces and a white "Alabama white " sauce that goes on pretty tasty. A good place for kids as I had my 18 month old and he loves it! Will be back. read more

We came here for the Veterans Day special and received a free sandwich!!! As soon as we entered the restaurant we were greeted by the staff who welcomed us in. Our cashier was Xavier who was super nice and a pleasure to speak with. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was piled high with delicious pork! I also ordered collard greens and a sweet tea. They have several sauces to choose from on the table. The restaurant is clean and filled with pictures of service members, patches, police, and firemen. They're on a Mission to be the best bbq in the LV area!! We've tried a LOT of bbq & have friends that do competition bbq and this one was our top favorites! We each got a 3 meat tray, brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken and smoked turkey. Sides were fries, baked beans and collard greens. They absolutely nailed it. All of it! Our favorite meat was the pulled chicken but all of it was delicious. So good that we demolished our meals! The service was impeccable. Chris was so polite and professional. A coworker was discussing places for lunch and recommend this spot especially the turkey sandwich. We had to try! When walking in there is a large menu board. We knew what we wanted and some things we saw that we would go back for. The smoked turkey was very good, however the bun they serve it on was ice cold and the French fries were cold. I had to go back and ask for a warm bun and hot fries and per the employee they don't toast the buns unless you ask. Went in Sunday afternoon 2:30 day after Valentines day, may play a part in quality of the pork. Have never tried this BBQ before. Had a scoop of the pork and the cheesy potatoes. Pork was DRY! I ate about 1/3rd cup of it and stopped. It was not a good bbq. But maybe as I mentioned the day has something to do with that. Potatoes were ok, corn bread needs the butter and honey. FOOD IS PHENOMENAL! Literally everything is good here. GET HERE BEFORE NOON! Everyday at noon they play the National Anthem and the restaurant stands and pays respect to our country! The ambience is very patriotic with both first responders and every branch of the military being represented. The staff is very friendly and conscientious, you feel at home here. Mission BBQ is a favorite from the east coast. I'm glad to see they made their way to the west coast, but I wish they had a location in Summerlin rather than Henderson. That being said, I will not make a special trip to come here, but if I'm in the area, then I don't mind stopping by for a meal. The good thing about Mission BBQ is their highlights of all military veterans and active duty personnel. When you sign up for their rewards program, you get a free sandwich. Additionally, celebrating Vietnam, World War II, etc. veterans so no veteran should ever feel left out here. If you've never been, I recommend you give them a try. I remember when this opened and this was my first time. And last. 4 baby back ribs for $15???? The only thingwith it it was a tiny piece of corn bread. The ribs were extremely dry with a terrible "sauce" that was also dry. Ribs were over cooked and extremely unappetizing. Too spicy as well. Lots of people love a certain bbq place that I don't like at all. This place is vet owned and the decor shows that. Super cool. I like that you order similar to I have in Texas for bbq. We went with the sampler. We choose brisket, jalapeño sausage and pork ribs to share. Along with Mac and Cheese and corn. It comes with corn bread which is nice touch. Lots of sauces to choose from. My colleagues and I came into town on business, and the first thing we wanted to do after settling into our hotel was find good food. Holy moly we found it at Mission BBQ!! As a veteran of the Navy, I wanted to thank them for having a place that honored those who served. Azaria at the front was thankful for my service and did an incredible job recommending (everything) based on our questions. Jen and Yaritza did an outstanding job checking in on us--and also recognizing me for my service. And the conversations with Jen on the sauces...this girl knows her stuff!! (She was right, that Alabama White Sauce is to die for!!) I had the baby back ribs, mac and cheese, fries, cherry cheesecake, and tea. My colleagues had the same, although one added the brisket. I tried this place for the first time, ordering take out . I went to their website to place a pick up order, but it wouldn't let me get to the checkout to complete my order. I had to call in to place my order. Staff was pleasant over the phone. They gave me an estimated time for the order. There is pick-up /to-go parking facing Warm Springs Road and the door to enter the restaurant is just a few steps away. As soon as you enter that door, there is a staff greeting you. My order wasn't quite ready but it was just a few minutes of waiting. I ordered 3 meat platter and it came with slice of cornbread. It's been a minute since I've had some descent BBQ. We decided to check out Mission BBQ in Henderson. After doing some research it's a chain that has a great respect for the military men and women as well as first responders. You order at the counter and then sit down. We tried the brisket and the ribs with fresh cut fries and potato salad as the sides. Honestly everything was delicious. The tables were laden with 6 different types of sauce from different regions of the country. The service was great and the dining room was comfortable. With all of this said we came the following day as well and tried the brisket sandwich and their pulled chicken sandwich. Very patriotic decor and friendly staff. This BBQ spot recently opened in Henderson and the parking lot is packed. I love the idea of a shredded chicken sandwich but regrettably it was extremely salty. I'm hopeful this is a one off situation and not the standard because I would like to come back and try this sandwich again since it wasn't edible. I was notified after ordering the Mac & cheese was a ten minute wait. I was in a hurry so I opted for fries which I instantly regretted not waiting. This place is so good! I used to work at BBQ restaurant for years, so I'm quite picky. Their brisket was awesome. The bark on it was so flavorful! I liked the jalapeño hot link, nothing super special. And the half chicken was soooo good too! The Mac and cheese was pretty good! And the beans were also good! A Hidden Gem That Deserves to Break the Curse I almost didn't stop here. Driving by, I told my husband, "How good could it be?" This corner of Stephanie and W. Warm Springs seems doomed for restaurants. I've watched at least three others open and close in the same spot. (Pssstt....I do miss Sweet Tomatoes) But luckily, curiosity (and hunger) won, and we gave it a shot. From the moment we walked in, the staff couldn't have been friendlier. One team member patiently walked us through the menu and made us feel genuinely welcome. We ordered the two-meat platter with smoked pulled chicken and baby back ribs...and wow... it was the best BBQ chicken breast I've ever had. Juicy (yes, the breast!), perfectly smoky, and seasoned just right. Fall-off-the-bone tender baby backs were seasoned with a dry rub and just the right amount of crispy, smoky char. I think Mission just broke the curse on this corner. We'll definitely be back. Adding: I paid cash and was looking for the tip jar. Couldn't find it so I had to ask for it. Will start with the meat, it was tender but lacked flavor for us. Also tried the Mac & cheese, very basic not much flavor. Now the worse part. My husband dispensed some bbq from the plastic container and a thick white stringy mucus stuff came out with the sauce. Almost vomit in my mouth seeing it . So disgusted that we just left. On top of that, the only combo they offer is a meat combo. Everything else is alacarte. Very pricey menu in my opinion. Definitely will not return nor recommend. read more

Babes ordered a three meat platter: turkey, chicken, and brisket. Considering other reviews mentions the chicken was dry, ours wasn't. The turkey was juicy, and the brisket.. smoked and flavorful! The Mac and cheese, coleslaw, and baked beans all were tasty. My favorite out of the three would be the baked beans. They also give corn bread & it was delishhhh. Good smells. Standard BBQ joint atmosphere. Friendly staff greeting everybody who walks through the door. And a cool concept that I support and stand behind. With the current tensions in this country I appreciate the patriotism they display. It is a good start. The menu here is not especially large but there are a good number of options. Single meats. Double. Triple even. Maybe a sandwich is more your speed. Plus a variety of sides. I toyed around with the idea of a 3 meat sample platter and two sides. That seemed a bit excessive though. I went with a pull pork sandwich - NC style - and two sides. Those being baked beans and collard greens. So after ordering, filling my drink and finding a seat, I waited just a couple of minutes until my name was called. I walked back up to the counter to collect my food. Luckily I was sitting close so I could hear my name called. It was kind of loud in there. I was impressed with the pile of pork on the sandwich. It was a generous portion. The sides were fairly generous too. Far more than just a few mere bites. I started with a bite of everything before saucing anything. I tried all of the sauces too. The beans and greens were both pretty good as is but benefitted from a little doctoring up from the various sauces on the table. More on that in a moment. The cole slaw atop the sandwich was good. Angel hair style shred on the cabbage. Creamy dressing. Not bad at all. The pork was incredibly moist and tender but it did lack a deep smoky flavor. It was there just not front and center. The sauces were definitely a bonus here too. I added a combination of two sauces. There are technically 7 sauce options to choose from - 6 BBQ sauces based on regions (i.e. Baja, KC, TN, TX) and a spiced vinegar. The vinegar was the closest to NC style that I saw so that was sauce #1 that I added to the sandwich. A good drenching too. I happen to really like vinegar and have been known to drink it straight. So on a sandwich - no problem. I also added a good bit to the collard greens. That woke up my taste buds. Sauce #2 that I added to my sandwich was the Memphis honey something or other. A little sweet. A little heat. More thin than some of the others. That in tandem with the vinegar was PERFECT. I also added the same sauce to the beans to spice them up a little. By the end of the meal I was really quite full. My sinuses were cleared out out pretty well from all the vinegar and bit of spice from the sauce. That was nice. And, to my surprise, I could taste much more of the smoke lingering on my tongue. It was there afterall. This was a generally good experience. 3.5 stars for the lack of deep rich smokiness of the meat but bumped up to 4 for the service and other highlights. read more

We've been watching and waiting for Mission to open and after a week or so we finally got in to give it a try. After reading the reviews of course we were apprehensive but unless there a 100 terrible reviews I always try for myself. As always I can't understand some of the reviews, when we arrived we were met by a staff member at the door and he helped get us to the counter. Once we were there the cashier came out and went over everything with us since we had never been there before. He was very helpful and got our order placed. We decided to get the 3 meat platter with a side of fries. We got the moist brisket, the classic sausage and the pulled pork. The sides were Mac and cheese and corn bread . All the meats definitely were smoked and you could taste it. As a matter of fact my shirt smelled like smoke when I got home. All the meats were cooked well and tasted good. The Mac and cheese was hot and cheesy and tasted real good. I'm not sure why people said the corn bread was dry because it was super moist and tasty. The fries were definitely fresh and cooked nicely. Overall we really enjoyed it and would go back. Be warned though it was freezing in there !!! read more

I went here to eat with my friend for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The server named Jen immediately recognized my Jacksonville Jaguars shirt and made our dining experience very welcoming. The baby back ribs were fantastic and delightfully tender. Also enjoyed the cherry cheesecake that my fellow Jacksonville Jaguars fan hooked us up with . Definitely coming back . My husband and I visited on opening week as we saw a news segment thay it had opened. From the moment you drive in, the smells of good ol' BBQ is in the air. We didnt wait long to order and once we did the wait for our food was short (less than 10 min). My husband had the brisket and turkey with beans followed by banana pudding. He said it was lip smacking. I had the sausage and pulled pork with mac and cheese ans was picking my lips at the end. Oh let's not forget, they had sweet tea. So maybe this place doesn't deserve 5 stars, but it definitely doesn't deserve 1. Have a feeling people are getting bent over the pro military, pro police, pro first responder vibe.
