Always a pleasure. Lady Matilda is the vet in our family, so we enjoy going here for a hearty meal. She is a Texan, so her taste in barbecue and brisket is, by her own admission, a little snobby. I'm fine so long as it isn't bland or dry. I appreciate the customer service and the respect behind the counter of the chow line. I appreciate the interaction between staff and customers that is very different than the "eyes-down, keep moving" feel at most restaurants. One of the complaints that I'll push back on is that the walls are covered in theme, like a 1990s theme restaurant that covers every square inch of wall space with distraction. The thing I see is that the company takes pride in local service, photos with stories and meaning, keeping their mission in line of sight at all times. I always push for more women on those walls, but at least this location has done a much better job adding women to its living gallery/museum of service. Of course, this gives me a sense of pride when Lady Matilda is recognized for her service and fed well for a reasonable price. I enjoy the food as much as the experience. read more

This was our first visit to Mission BBQ, and it definitely won't be our last. The food was great, but what really stood out was the customer service. Victor noticed it was our first time and actually came around the register to explain the menu, walk us through the different options, and make us feel welcome. That level of hospitality is rare these days and speaks volumes about the kind of people Mission BBQ hires. Thank you, Victor, for making our first experience such a great one! read more

Mission BBQ may be a chain, but the BBQ they are smoking is top quality!   This was the second year I visited Mission BBQ for Veterans' Day and I was once again impressed. The restaurant isn't just giving a discount to Vets to try to get more business, they are committed to celebrating Veterans and going all out. From the decorations, desserts, and overall interactions, Mission is the place to go for Veterans Day or any day.  Their brisket is delicious- juicy and smoked perfectly.  The chopped chicken sandwich was a hit with my wife. In addition to these two items, the sides are quality made- tasty fries, mac & cheese, and cheesy potatoes.  The service is always friendly and professional from the counter service to the managers who make sure you experience it top notch.  I highly recommend Mission BBQ and we are already planning our next visit. read more

The Mission BBQ in Berks and Lancaster County are good so I had high hopes for this location. I normally order brisket but they were sold out. Also the pulled pork was sold out too. That's fine, other meat options were available. I ordered the pulled chicken with mac n cheese and fries. I'm happy the fries were hot when my order was ready; however, everything else was plated before the fries were done. Needless to say, the chicken was cold. Even with it being cold, it was too tough...not the usual shredded chicken. Mac n cheese was good, but could have been better if it was served hot. My family got ribs, which they said came out good. The turkey had too much of a Smokey taste that couldn't be covered with the option of 6 sauces. I'm not in Harrisburg often enough but I'll stick to my local Mission BBQ. read more

WOW! I mean seriously this place is the legit. The barbecue was delicious, but the stand out of this place is the outstanding, helpful and friendly staff. We were first timers and Becky behind the counter took the time to give us the full run down with recommendations. The manager was so kind and came over to check on us and even hooked us up with some samples. Every interaction with staff was refreshing in a world where customer service has been lost. Gotta add the veteran focus decor and ambiance was so nice to see. Might've have been first timers, but we plan to be lifers! read more

Mission BBQ is the worst bbq I have ever eaten. It is also too expense. The service is okay, but the food is terrible.

the barbecue here is always reliably good. It is never the best bbq I've had, but always good. Very good even. I really like the brisket sandwich. It is never dry and always tasty with just the right amount of black edges. Decent selection of sides too and really good lemonade. And sometimes they will give a free desert for first responders. I am definitely a Mission BBQ fan. read more

There were two from Texas and one from Michigan. The food was excellent with very fair pricing. The service was over the top with helpful and friendly service. Thank you for the awesome brownies as first timers, and a big THANK YOU for the complimentary banana pudding! We will tell everyone about this place. We also love that you all are very special supporters of all military and first responders. We need more businesses like yours. read more

Food was great! The service was above and beyond. And the ambiance is standard esthetic. The peach cobbler is really good but it needs a pinch of salt to balance out the overwhelming sweetness. The burgerrrrrrr! Ugh. Best burger I've had in a while. Made medium well. The smokey flavor was incredible. read more

Delicious food. I ordered the moist sliced brisket and the classic sausage. The sliced brisket was very tender. Just melted in your mouth. On the tables are the six bbq sauces you can try. I tried l all of them. The service was excellent. The young lady behind the counter explained to me the differences in how they cooked the meats. Love the decor. It's dedicated to the armed forces. They have stories and pictures of service men and women. There are football helmets and jerseys of Army and Navy colleges. Just a nice tribute to our men and women who protect our country. read more

Bad show last night. Salty Brisket, dry pork the gentleman who patrols the lobby asked me how was dinner. I told him what was up and he said "I'm not surprised" and walked off. The sausage was good Update I sent an email the next day and they gave me a refund and an apology. read more

When I want fast, delicious succulent meat, I go to this Mission BBQ. The staff is always pleasant and welcoming and treat you like family. Even when it is busy, someone is always cleaning tables and ensuring the sitting area is clean and ready to be eaten in. I have never had a bad experience at this location, even when they cater our church on Christmas Eve. Always on point, always delicious. read more

I'm a big Mission BBQ fan normally. This trip was not great. I ordered a plate of brisket with a side of Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese and cornbread were good, but the brisket was horrible. It was super dry and tough, like the consistency of overcooked beef roast. I took it back up to ask for a new portion and the staff was happy to oblige. However, that new portion was not much better, they gave me the very end piece of a tiny cut of brisket which was half burnt ends. Didn't bother taking it back up to complain again and just left. Never had this kind of issue at Mission BBQ before, maybe just an inexperienced cook and team. read more

I visited your location, with my family, for the 2nd time for lunch. Of course we returned because we enjoyed the food, location is clean, staff is friendly... we would not return if all of those boxes were not checked. But I have to say the highlight was Cherise! She was working during both of our visits, was great with food suggestions for us, and so sweet to chat with. She definitely loves meeting new people in the restaurant, and is very knowledgeable about the chain as well as the Harrisburg area. It's not often that you meet someone who provides such great friendly service. And I know more people would take the time to complain about a negative experience than to shine a light on the exceptional. read more

Mission BBQ is located on Route 22 in the same complex as Giant and Value City Furniture. Went here on a Saturday and they were busy. The menu includes Brisket, Pulled Pork, Chicken, and other meat options. I went with the Brisket, and two seasonal sides, the Smashed Potatoes and Peach Cobbler. Meat Market options come with a piece of Cornbread. Beverages include Pepsi fountain drinks and various glass bottle beverages. Dining room interior design is heavy on wood grain and has a decent amount of seating. Considering the crowd, the staff were delivering orders fast. At the table they provide six different BBQ sauces as the meat is prepared in one style. I went with my usual Memphis Belle and Smokey Mountain flavors, as this is one of the few places that I enjoy the sauce offerings. The Brisket is tasty enough to eat without sauce. Both my sides were ok, the Smashed Potatoes have a decent flavor, but the Peach Cobbler could have used another Peach slice. I'd stick with the French Fries when eating here. Overall, prices are reasonable and the food is good, so I'll be watching for Mission BBQ's when traveling. read more

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! What an excellent chain restaurant! Best bbq I have tasted in PA. They have a great menu, it's affordable and large portions. Employees were so friendly. They seem to do a lot of business with catering and selling family bundles. Very clean and plenty of seating inside and out. Food was so delicious and is ready within 2 minutes of ordering. Visited here on a Saturday at noon. Place was busy, but not too busy and I didn't have a wait/no line. If I could give 10 stars for this visit, I would. Staff was amazing--helpful, patient and quick. Food was equally as delicious--best mac & cheese we've had from a restaurant. Nice selection of meats and sides. The baby back ribs were meaty, the pulled pork was moist and the jalapeno and cheese sausage was perfectly spicy and very tasty. We will definitely return! read more

My last night in Harrisburg, I was looking to hit up Mission BBQ for some comfort BBQ. Mission BBQ is an East Coast Chain restaurant, this particular location is large and in charge. Walking in, the menu board is posted up high. There are sandwich choices as well as standard BBQ meat choice: Brisket, pulled pork and roasted chicken. My dinner choice was a two meat combo with one side and a drink. Of course I chose a sweet tea, which they make very well. I see all of these military signs and I ask this nice counterperson what does a military person get? I show my credentials and she said, have a seat and I'll send something to you. That folks, is just great customer service. My Que? On point. The brisket was moist and the Jalapeño & cheese sausage links were really good. I had plans to eat a $17 bouge burger at another restaurant, I'm glad I made the choice to come to visit Mission BBQ. I'm almost finished and was greeted with a carrot cake with frosting. I was told dessert was to thank me for my service. They also gave me a free card to come back for a sandwich? Mission BBQ, thank you for the excellent meal and dessert! I loved my BBQ and can't wait to return. PS - Long Island would be perfect for the next Mission BBQ!! read more

I had no idea how delicious this bbq place was. Now that I discovered it I have become a frequent indulging customer. I love that they celebrate vets and play the anthem every day at 12 noon. The service is extremely quick for the quality of the food. I really love the brisket and the mac n cheese and sweet tea. Portions are generous enough for one to share. read more

As far as chain restaurants go this one is very good with quality offerings at reasonable cost - our family of 5 ate for less than $100 this includes a second order with drinks and tip! The pulled chicken and pork are top notch - 2 large orders of fries, Mac n cheese, Beans amongst the side dishes. Only 4 stars bc it's a chain restaurant read more

If Mission BBQ served breakfast, I'd probably be there then too. I love everything here - from the brisket to the turkey, even the cornbread is good. I almost always get the turkey and then different sides. They have standard bbq sides - fries, Mac and cheese, coleslaw, etc. if you like pulled pork and you like coleslaw, get the pulled pork Carolina style. Also, no matter what you get, ask for the Alabama sauce (it's refrigerated so you'll have to ask). They also support local first responders and the military, so buy a refillable cup, it goes to good use! read more

We used Mission BBQ three times this holiday season for catering. Each time it was excellent. Everything was ready and easy to set up. Everything we needed was included. I tried Misdion BBQ for the first time today. I was very disappointed in the quality and quantity of the food. I got a sliced brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese side. The brisket was very fatty and the Mac and cheese had no flavor and was extremely dry. The sweet sauce was not good either. I'm from Oklahoma and this was the first BBQ I've had here in Pennsylvania. I will say that the service was great and the staff was very friendly. I will not be ordering from the restaurant again. read more

If you want BBQ food this is a great place to grab and go. I came here to get dinner for take out and was in and out within 5 minutes. I ordered brisket with Mac and cheese and collard greens. They have sooo many sauces to choose from so I will definitely be back to try them all. read more

First off I support the military and this is a restaurant that supports our troops. It's a well put together spot in a nice location. Service has always been good, I've eaten there multiple times. OMG, if you need BBQ, do not pass up the chance to eat here. It may look like a chain option but it's tender and juicy, spicy and sweet, crisp and melt i your mouth just like you were day dreaming about! Get the brisket moist because diets don't work here, and the pulled pork is so tender there is no effort to chew! The baked beans have obviously been too close the sauce and some brisket fell in the pot, and the Mac n cheese is not for kids! Try a cane sweet soda so it's not too sweet to keep your sauce tasting perfect! read more
