The absolute best BBQ I've had in a while. Delicious, HUGE portions and friendly service. You will not leave hungry.

Smelled the BBQ and had to stop! We had the smoked meatloaf, ribs and brisket, all were wonderful! Well worth the stop, will come again!

It reminded me a lot of Gasoline Street Coffee Company in Pittsburgh. Service was good despite the light staffing. On our Friday evening visit, as far as I could see there was only one person handling the bar and tables, but she was friendly, attentive, and handled everything with a smile. Unfortunately, the two biggest reasons most people head to a bar/restaurant--food and drinks--fell a bit flat. The food was fine, but nothing stood out, and portions/prices felt a little high for the quality. The biggest downside was how quiet it was. A Friday night with only 2-3 other patrons made the place feel empty and a bit discouraging. No one wants slammed service from overworked staff, but the opposite isn't ideal either. If you're in the area and want a low-key spot with good vibes and don't mind basic food, it's worth a try. But if you're looking for a lively scene or standout eats, you might want to keep driving.

My friend rated his pulled pork sandwich a 4/10 without the bbq sauce. With the sauce, it went down to 3/10. The fries were terrible. The wings we ordered were all drums and definitely reheated and overcooked. When I picked up the bone, it was cold, but the meat was hot. My other friend said her salad was salty. I guess it should have been a hint that the food wasn't great when the place was empty on a Sunday evening at 7pm.

For the second time ever, I visited a brewery after already knowing about its beers. (The first…read morebeing Flying Fish, R.I.P.) But this place is much more than beer, and I can't recommend it enough. First, there is a bar completely separate from the eating area, so you can choose what experience you want. Second, I've known that all their beers are top notch, which is why I wanted to come here. I'm not an IPA guy, but the black IPA is some top notch stuff that anyone can appreciate. Not super hoppy, really well balanced. Blonde stout is another superb creation, Lancaster gets some depth into it that many other breweries can't manage. Third, if you want food, they learned from the Food Network and limited their menu to just a few choices, all excellently prepared. I ordered the Angry Mac with gator meat. It had excellent flavor, they made it spicier like I asked, and unlike most places they provided plenty of meat. Great quantity and great taste that I wasn't expecting. I tasted my friend's polenta and it was perfectly balanced with some cheese, not too salty. I could eat that for days. Finally, Eva, our waitress? Wonderful. My friend and I were weighing dessert, we wanted a brownie but not the whole hot fudge brownie sundae. Eva made it work and even split it between heated and cold. What a great server. Props to Eva! To get this quality of food, this quality of beer, this quality of service, and this quality of ambiance all in one? No wonder my friend was willing to go two days in a row. I need a Lancaster Brewing in my town.

I was at their original location many years ago and loved my experience there, so when I saw they have a second location in Harrisburg while on a weekend trip to Hershey/Harrisburg in November, I jumped at the chance to have dinner and a beer there. The Harrisburg location is not half as nice as the original location, as it's in a fairly nondescript building on the side of a major highway. But we nevertheless had a great time there. Our server was Arley who was superb. My girlfriend and I both got flights. Unlike most other breweries I've been to that serve 4 beers to a flight and might charge extra for high ABV beers, Lancaster Brewing Co. serves 6 to a flight and only charges $13. That's a great deal in my experience. My girlfriend ordered the pulled pork sandwich and I ordered the lamb burger. Both came out quickly and were top notch. We had a great time and would definitely come back if we're ever in the area again. In the meantime, I'll keep looking for their beers at the liquor store.

Its a little roadside stand outside dempsey factory exit, just sheet metal surrounding a wood fire…read moregrill. No seating, this stand is certainly a to-go sort of place. I had passed by this little roadside stand probably hundreds of times, and thought to myself... One of these nights I'll have to try that out. I was never sure when they were open until he recently posted a sign, saying thurs thru sun 5-11. He was there that night, and I decided what the heck. Why not. So I pulled over (there is no lot that I know of, but you can park on the street), and I walked up. I asked him how much his chicken was and he told me $7 for half a chicken (less for legs and thighs which I wasn't interested in anyhow) and for an extra buck and a half he'd throw in a potato and a roll (cash only to the best of my knowledge). I told him sure and after talkin to him awhile while he warmed up my chicken and reseasoned it he told me he had been at this over 30 years but business was so sparse lately he barely made enough to pay for the gas to get here. I asked him why he didn't advertise and not surprisingly, it was too expensive. I made a mental note that if it was good I should tell all of my friends about him. Upon returning home I looked at my purchase. The chicken wasn't much to look at it but it smelled incredible. It tasted great too, like barbecue but unique, which was great. Very light and not so overpowering, it really let the flavor of the chicken through. I put some butter and cheese on my potato, with a little sour cream and absolutely devoured it ( something about potatoes in foil on a grill is always delicious to me, but this was better than I'd hoped)! The roll was store bought, nothing to really make note of, but tasted fine. I called my neighbor over and told her she had to try some of this chicken. Like me she had passed by it hundreds of times but never stopped. She told me she thought it was delicious, and said she was going to go get some for herself soon. I thought to myself, how can I spread the word about this tiny little local gem? Then the answer came to me. Yelp! It's always where Ive turned to for advice on what to eat when I just can't decide and has pointed me in the direction of several places I never would have gone on my own, but I'm super happy I did! So I offer you this, fellow yelp patrons. Give this guy a shot if you're in the area. Bring some of his food home and share it with your family, and then tell your friends too!
