The cornbread tastes like somebody fashioned a loaf out of creamed corn, baked it, and shoveled it into each entree as a cruel prank. The sauces were unremarkable and over-sweetened (Keto-eaters beware!). My fromage-frenzied son refused the Mac n Cheese and canned green beans were not improved by the presence of bacon. The manager is a sweet young woman names Jessica, who kindly showed me the ropes. So, for my shy Boo's out there...I got cha. Get in line, people. It was served on a wonder bread hamburger bun. One bite before it ended up in the trash. The baked beans weren't the same. They were acidic and tasted like tomato sauce. I hope this was a fluke. Tried all 6 sauces & only after trying 2 bites of each with my brisket settled on the Tupelo Texas hands down. Sweet & it had a bit of heat but not spicy. I asked for a side of mac cheese which I tried to barter with kiddo for half her beans. She, in true Texas form & the American way, stole my shit and ate it all. She let me scoop a spoonful onto my tray before she called it hers for the taking. She, like the Mexican I raised her to be, felt bad & scooped one more spoon onto my tiny, insignificant portion. I loved the decor, there are patches & stickers nailed in here & there for service members that want to display & donate. The fact that it honors military is awesome. The fact that firemen & police are included is even better. Great place, fast turnaround time from when you order to when you are served. Reminded me a bit of Woody's BBQ in Fort Worth, TX. I got pork, jalapeño and cheese sausage and brisket sampler plate. All of them were great!!! I didnt like idea of having to buy sides though. I've been here twice and had a wonderful experience both times. The cashiers were friendly and patient and considering the high volume of this restaurant, it was surprisingly clean and well stocked. My eating in experience was just as great as my take out. Now for the food - the pulled pork is amazing! Especially with the heavenly heat sauce and NC Style sandwich. Their mac and cheese is rich and creamyyy. Their baked beans are equally tangy as they are sweet so a little different but still yummy. The jalepeno and cheddar sausage is soooo good, my man couldn't keep his eyes or hands of mine and is definitely going to get that next time. We loved our first time visit to Mission BBQ, but the woman who took our order seemed very uninterested in her job. We had never been to this restaurant before so we had no idea what came with what. When my husband asked what came with the three meats option she said and I quote "three meats". My husband then asked if any sides came with it and she said "no" before my husband could even finishing asking the question. She was very unfriendly however, the food made up for it. The menu was simple; but delicious fare. We had brisket Mac and cheese, green beans, brisket sandwich and turkey salad. All of the meats we're flavorful and tender. The sides were equally as tasty. The manager, Amanda, came to our table and greeted us. We asked how she got involved in working there. She told us a little bit about her family history, asked where we were from and brought the three of us complementary strawberry shortcake desserts. That was a pleasant surprise.
