Amazing food and staff! Family friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be going back! Food to dessert were perfect!

This is definitely commercial barbecue. There is smoked flavor in the meat, however, there is no additional flavor. The restaurant was well maintained. The servers were very friendly. The menu presented great options for sides. Each meal is served with a piece of sweet cornbread. read more

Mission BBQ - Barbeque Near Me - Bradenton, Florida

Had a very racist experience here, and I was considering NOT leaving this review however after my conversation with Adam, I think it's important to call out racism and white superiority especially in businesses. My husband and I visited this mission BBQ two Tuesdays ago and had a horrible customer service experience. After watching how the cashier had interacted with the elderly couple in front of us(very lively and friendly), we were disappointed when we were greeted with a low affect "how can I help you?" To be grateful, we let this go and continued to order. When it was time for us to receive our food, the woman at the counter showed us our food, placed it in the bag, and aggressively shoved the bag towards us. She also, was not friendly with us. And to be VERY apparent, we were the ONLY people of color in that restaurant. This was reported to the location manager who extended an apology on behalf of both employees. However, when it was reported to Adam at corporate I received an entirely different response. Adam completely denied that these instances could be racist in nature. Told me that it was impossible due to his personal relationship with the employees. Told me that it boiled down to a customer service issue and not a race issue. After an extensive back and fourth with Adam, I made it very clear that I was no longer supporting Mission BBQ. This company LACKS understanding of cultural responsiveness and racism AND does not want to understand. For someone to deny another person their experience for their own comfort is dismissive and disrespectful, and it's disappointing that those are the type of people that are representing Mission BBQ. Unless, that is the message that they want to send. read more

This is my favorite go to BBQ place. Staff is always friendly. Food is great. BBQ meat is so tender. You can chose from pork, brisket, chicken or turkey. You add your own BBQ sauce and can ever mix them. The Maggie Mac and cheese is awesome. So creamy. There deserts are different, not the same all the time. Banana pudding to cobbler. At noon, they salute veterans by playing the national anthem. Everyone stops eating for the national anthem by their choice. read more

Food was amazing when I came to try it with my school. Took my family here during the weekend and they loved it. The service here was so nice. They offered me and my family 1-2 of every side so we could try them for free. Music and and the whole feeling of this place is so nice and I highly recommend it to everyone. read more

Had the honour of visiting this outstanding BBQ place in Sarasota, and I must say I was very impressed with the enthusiasm and professionalism of the staff working there, as well as the awesome food. Had the beef brisket sandwich, and was not let down by flavourful meat and great seasoned fries accompanying it. The atmosphere is great, and I would happily stay and eat in on my next visit, just to gaze at the service patches from police, military and other first responder visitors to this location. This restaurant has hit on a winning formula: great food, great crew, and pride for those who served. The fact that they have Veteran parking spots designated, and give free sandwiches to Vietnam Vets says all you need to know about their core values and espirit des corps. Awesome! read more

MISSION BBQ IS VERY GOOD... HERE IS PROOF.......Every time I ate at Brick's / Sarasota , the pulled pork sandwich , the meat was the crust & dry... I asked when ordering , to please make sure the meat was moist... So , they minced the crust , dry meat & said the chef said this was the best way to do it.... Later , I asked the manager , Anthony , why did the mince the meat , he said , That is what the chef wanted to do.... I asked him if he ever ate at Mission BBQ ? He said , " YES " All the time ".... I said , that is moist meat.. & he understood that.... Interesting that he eats at Mission BBQ. all the time when he can eat for free at Brick's..... read more

We are locals and this is our Go To place for food and a nice night out. Clean, well staffed and really good lean pork barbecue sandwich. Thank you for your service Mission Barbecue! read more

Went last night. Great choice. The staff very polite and energetic. The food was way above average for a chain bbq joint. There was 4 of us so we tried the brisket pulled pork and pork ribeye. They were all above expectations. I have one more place to try in the area that is take out only but I would rank this place top dog for food and value. Non of us left hungry and we didn't break the bank. The four of us averaged about 10 bucks a person with drink. Oh and the fresh cut fries and the Mac and cheese are a must in my opinion. Also love the honoring of the military and first responders as a theme. read more

My daughter and I ate dinner here this past week. It had been several months since we had been here but the last food was out of this world. I was really excited to have great barbeque. However, my pulled chicken barbeque sandwich was not good. The meat looked and tasted like it had been stored in an open air container. It was hard and very dry. My daughter's fries had a hair in them. They replaced them but the damage was already done. Both our stomachs were turned over at this point. This restaurant fell way short of what it used to be. read more

If you love brisket this is definitely the place to go, never been disappointed! Also the fact they honor America by singing the national anthem, gives me goosebumps.Love this place! read more

I came here with friends & family the other night. My friend & I ordered the 3 meat platter with ribs, chicken & pulled pork. And then we did the XXL combo and added extra sides & another drink. The sides we ordered were the collard greens, mac n cheese, baked beans & French fries. It comes with corn bread & we ordered an extra roll. Everything tasted good but their mac n cheese was amazing! So glad we tried so many different items. Everyone that worked there was really friendly!!! read more

Hospitality is great! The lady named Q was working the dining room. She treated us like family and was amazing at her job. The bbq doesn't disappoint. I had the pulled pork and it was great. I have tried 4 different sides in the two trips I have taken there. The cream of corn and cheesy potatoes are great the Mac n cheese and cold slaw were ok. Just not my cup of tea. Overall great dining read more

All I can say is great BBQ and even more a great mission. We were here last year and the BBQ was great. Same this year, great food and a great mission. The St. Louis ribs are great, fall off the bone, sweet and juicy. brisket, get the moist it's great. The yard bird chicken is great, moist and falls off the bone with great taste. Now to the sides, the Mac&Cheese is the best I have had from a restaurant. No added starch or fillers, just Mac and cheese. If they have the Greens, just get them; best I have had. As a restaurant they are great alone, but their mission adds so much more. read more

Rocky Mountain barbecue sauce is my favorite from there. I love the ribs and pulled pork always perfect.

Love what mission BBQ stands for with the military. Very patriotic with the 12pm star spangled banner, the military swag on the walls. It's great and the pulled pork is amazing. Chose your sauce. So your not stuck with a generic flavored sandwich. read more

Went there based on a recommendation and was super impressed. From the minute I walked in the door I was greeted with a smile and a very friendly Person at the cash register. He told me about the different sauces they offer/ recommendations. The brisket was on point as was the Mac n cheese. Would love to have this again! read more

I like this place and the Mrs., she loves it too. She had the turkey, wow. I had the brisket, wow... then the manager asked me if I was a vet and I am. Next thing ya know he is bringing me a free sweet. Banana pie. OMG. Talk about hit the spot. We found a place we both like. HUA.... I gave them a couple patches from my Army days and they pinned them on the wall... Cool. Service was up and beyond and the food was awesome. Great place, great people and great food. Highly recommend. The friendly helpful people make Mission BBQ!

A casual restaurant with excellent food and inspiring decor. 1st thing we noticed was the amazing aroma. 2nd thing - the tributes to men & women whose lives are given in many forms of service to community & country. 3rd - the guy at the counter being overly friendly & trying to get us to order. We just needed a minute to take it all in! We ordered at the counter, took a seat, and our name was called to pickup the food ourselves. Food was delish!! Really liked the 6-pack of sauces at each table. A definitive return is in our future! read more

We eat here frequently but the last 2 times, the staff were not on their game. They messed up my order and thankfully, was able to catch that while in the restaurant. My order was to go and when I got home and started eating, the brisket was dry but I had ordered juicy brisket. I expect better service than this from you. Please pay attention to what is ordered and get it right so your customers are happy. read more

Picked up dinner for my wife and I. Ordering is right up front as is payment. Name is given and is called when order is ready. Very short wait time. Slaw was standard- not bad. Mac and cheese was outstanding. Brisket was a bit dry, but flavorful. Now, to the ribs. Way overcooked. Slicing between bones impossible as the meat slid off the bone. I like to bite into meat that is ON the bone. Again, good flavor. Assortment of sauces quite interesting. Something for everyone. Gator bite my favorite. Tupelo honey also great. Meal was overall a bit overpriced in my opinion. Will come back. read more

Liked the fact I could order rib(s) individually. So I requested 3 ribs. 2 were meaty and good # 3 was almost all fat. Fries were burnt. I did not care for any of the sauces. No just plain sweet barbecue. I will not go out of my way again to go there. read more
