Somehow the quality has gone down, while the prices have gone up (no free shipping for orders over…read more$100, for instance). Several months ago I ordered a large framed print of a high resolution digital image (65 MB) that I bought from/off of alamy.com. The saturation was inadequate, resulting in a print that did not match the intense coloration (sapphire blues and deep orange yellows) of Van Gogh's "Starry Night" (MOMA). Then a month ago I ordered a smaller canvas print. The colors diverged wildly from the original digital print, almost different hues for the sky. The image is blurred, as if some photo-mechanical problem had occurred in the production process. Furthermore, there is a conspicuous fold in the lower left where the frame bar had creased it (see photo). This was quite careless on the part of whoever either stretched the canvas to the wooden bars or packed it. For the price I paid for a single image, I could have bought a nice coffee table art book with plenty of high quality images. Very disappointed. I contacted the owner but never heard back from him. ***** Where to go? Northwest Fine Art Printing? Moonlight?

This is one of those unusual old-fashioned businesses where when you dial their phone number, they pick up the phone. No robots giving you options to press one or say "representative", I just dialed the phone number and Kevin picked up. He was wonderful to work with on our wedding invitations, advising us on what we needed to create them at home from the already-folded and torn seed paper and twine. They even made us custom paper that only grows blue and dark red flowers, because we're having our wedding guests plant them and then bring them to our wedding. :D As much as I love their old-fashioned phone etiquette, their website is also a bit old-school and could be improved. Of particular note is that Kevin sent me a link to an "estimate" page, where I went, looked at the estimate and then emailed Kevin back to say it looked good. Fortunately I sent him a follow-up email asking when & how to pay, and apparently on the same page there's another link to where you are supposed to pay...not obvious to me, so it could have been days before I checked in with him again to see how my order was going. So if you're in a rush, you should remember this and when you see the "estimate" page look for the payment link to make sure your order goes through. Thanks to Kevin and anyone else at Of The Earth for our gorgeous wedding invitations (my friends will be amazed because I really have no design sense!). And as a bonus, or maybe as a main reason to go here, everything Of The Earth sells is about as eco-friendly as you can possibly get. Bravo.

Horrific customer service. Deplorable…read more I found this company on Etsy, where they sell "flower seed paper." I was stunned to discover the exact same paper on Amazon, in larger quantities, at a cheaper price. I approached Kevin/Lori/"Fiona" about this concern, and they claimed to be the Amazon vendors also. However, I contacted the Amazon vendor, located in a completely different state, and confirmed that they have no affiliation with Of the Earth. Hmmm.... Please be aware that this company greatly overcharges for shipping. I needed two rolls of paper for Christmas wrap, and wanted to support small business. I made it very clear to Kevin/Lori/"Fiona" that I needed them by Christmas. He/she/she strongly encouraged me to pay a whopping $18.50 for expedited shipping for possible delivery before Christmas, making the grand total for two rolls of paper and expedited shipping $44.72, an exorbitant sum that I was willing to pay in a pinch for it to arrive on time. But you guessed it: the paper did not arrive on time. By Christmas (a week later), the tracking number indicated that the item was mysteriously still "on its way" to a USPS facility. We're talking Seattle to San Francisco, so not a great distance. The sellers were extremely apathetic, unapologetic and dispassionate; they claimed that they were unaware that I needed it by Christmas, refused to acknowledge that they had encouraged me to pay extra for expedited shipping, and had no interest in working together to arrive at a resolution. When the item finally arrived (after Christmas), I immediately sent it back, as I no longer needed it. I suggested that it would be fair for us to compromise on shipping costs since they encouraged me to pay the expedited shipping; I would never have purchased the item without their encouragement, yet it still failed to arrive in time. They refused any sort of compromise whatsoever, citing that it "was not [their] fault" that it did not arrive. That is questionable, as I have no proof that they actually shipped it when they said they would - only proof that a shipping label was created - but even more to the point is that it was most certainly not my fault either. It is the seller's responsibility to ensure that the item gets to the customer. Why should the customer be punished? But they did not care, and would not budge. I was far more upset by Kevin/Lori/"Fiona's" attitude than the fact that the products did not arrive on time. Is this company so strapped for cash that they could not spare even a couple of bucks towards shared shipping to keep a customer happy? Even on general principle? That's just the wrong attitude for a small business owner to have. Bad look. I did not resist, but simply requested to see proof that the shipping fees were actually $18.50. No reply. To my third request, they finally responded to say that "we have reached the end of the line - I can't do anything more to assist you." So... there is no proof of the actual shipping fees. Do they buy on Amazon to sell elsewhere for a profit? Are their shipping fees legitimate? Caveat emptor!

I originally met Adina based on a suggestion from my wedding planner…read more When we originally met I was very happy with Adina and she presented me with many different options. So many in fact that I was overwhelmed when I left. She followed up our meeting with an email explaining the different ideas we had discussed, but I could not remember all of the styles, so I asked for another meeting so that we could cut down on the selections and I could remember what it was that we had discussed and I could select a specific style. Adina was getting ready to go to New York to do a show and present some of her new line at the show. We met and I was able to get the selection down to two styles and she said that once the artwork (I was to provide based on our theme) she would present to inkjet versions for me to decide which would be the final one to print. Her contract states that she will only do a max of X revisions. I was hesitant to sign at that point, but Adina assured me that she never really followed that and she wanted to make sure that we were both happy with the final product. So, I signed the contract at which time she also stated that she would be sending me a questionnaire to complete to track our conversations and that there would be some overlap. All throughout this process she was aware that this was for a same sex couple. Her questionnaire arrived, but it was all addressed to the bride throughout the form. I started to fill it out, but as I went through it, all that was presented were questions for the bride to answer and then information regarding the groom. I finally refused to complete the form and sent an email back to Adina explaining how I felt regarding the form. To Adina's credit, she was very apologetic and said that we could meet and discuss it. I was not sure what we would discuss, but I accepted the apology and tired to move forward. When we did get the mockups of the invites, we selected the format and the style of font that we wanted to use. This took it from about 5 or so possible choices to one. It was then that we started to run into problems. We requested some word changes and some spacing changes. We were completing the fourth such change, basically clearing up some of the issues that I thought should have been fixed automatically when the word changes were made at which point she said any additional changes would be charged, which were in direct conflict of what she had said when I hesitated to sign the contract. I re-read the contract and reiterated our conversation at which point she said that she would still charge for additional changes. Luckily for us, this round cleared all of the issues with what she had done. We left without having her finish the job and found someone who was much better to work with and the final version was worth the extra money that we had to pay. We actually had to bring our wedding planner in to finish things off with Adina as well. Our wedding planner was not able to determine what the problem had been either.

I was chaotic and had no clear ideas, but I did have a few very hard requests: I wanted color, I wanted texture, and I wanted everything to be cohesive, all wrapped up in an intimate dinner party feel. Oh, and lots of string lights!! She was grounding throughout the entire planning process and made accommodations more times than I can count. Honestly, I've lost track of everything she pulled off. To give you a small taste: our guest list fluctuated so much that she spent hours reworking the schematics just to fit everyone in the reception space I had envisioned. Then we changed that layout again about a month ish before the wedding. I also completely changed the ceremony site on her two weeks before the big day. We were extremely late deciding on catering. And on top of all of this, I had a medical emergency that lasted two hours on the wedding day. It probably sounds like I was a bridezilla, but not once did she hesitate to be kind, gentle, and compassionate. She was so communicative and generous with her time, always answering messages promptly even when I would flood her phone with every intrusive thought or idea at the most ridiculous times of day. She didn't just take on the role of coordinator. She was my sounding board, my designer, my counselor when I needed to rant, my project manager, all the things, all at once. She even designed all of our stationery and day-of signage. Like, how? How can one person do it all?!?! We felt compelled to hire a coordinator that is local, and has experience with the venue we chose which is why Krisanna was our prime option. Planning: We officially started working with Krisanna about 3 months out of the wedding date if memory serves. She kept us organized and curated a list of all our vendors with contacts and created a wedding timeline with details for us. As we approached the wedding date we were able to slowly take our foot off the pedal and allow her to drive for us which was helpful. Overtime the she was almost 100% in charge of dealing with the vendors and only came to us with important decisions. She's well versed with our venues guidelines and layout, so she would intentionally call out pitfalls that we can easily avoid due to the institutional knowledge that she has which we really appreciated. She's responsive over text and emails when we has questions or thoughts we wanted to communicate to her. Execution: Fast forward to the day of the wedding, we literally didn't keep our phones on us at all since she's the main point of contact for the day. We were able to enjoy the day without having to bear any logistical burden knowing that she's around. Overall: 100% you need to hire Krisanna for your wedding. She'll alleviate so much burden the day of, so you can enjoy your special day without worrying about the logistics.
