It's ok. The appetizers were better than the sushi for me. Got the spring rolls and the gyoza. Miso soup was hot. The sushi was just ok for us. Nothing right nothing wrong. Sushi felt fresh and service was great but nothing else memorable. Just probably wouldn't be back with so many other options around read more

Located in Stanley Marketplace, this little sushi joint has all the delicious things!!! We stopped by on a Monday night for dinner and the staff here is so nice! We sat at one of the tables and ordered the shrimp and bay scallop appetizer, the karaage (Japanese fried chicken), Stanley roll and some assorted nigiri. The appetizers were soooo delicious. The shrimp and bay scallops are deep fried and covered in eel sauce and a Japanese mayo sauce. The karaage had a delightful batter that was light and crispy! I loved the spicy Japanese mayo that it was served with. The chicken was perfectly juicy on the inside. Highly recommend these dishes. The fish on the nigiri and roll was super fresh. I think they take a lot of care in preparing their fish which is so important for a sushi place. I will definitely come back and try more rolls!! read more

This was my first visit to Stanley Market - and I decided to check this place out for their sushi. I ordered sushi to go - service was super friendly, ordering very easy, and they let me know it would be about 20 minutes. They texted me when my food was ready -and it was very close to 20 minutes. I ordered edamame - plain version. It's a very generous portion and cooked perfectly. I also ordered the sashimi appetizer (2 pieces each salmon, tuna and yellowtail) the pieces of fish were generously portioned and delicious. For a roll - I ordered the dragon ball - shrimp tempura, crab mix, unagi, cucumber, avocados strawberries - this roll was super interesting and a great combination of sweet/savory umami. I'm not a big eel fan - but it tasted great when mixed with everything else. I think it's my first time eating sushi with strawberries on it - YUM! Will for sure come back again and try more of the menu!! read more

I absolutely love the atmosphere, the cool tables & the "street" vibe that makes it seem like an eclectic Japanese restaurant. They have tables made from motorcycles & scooters so it's a very photographable space. The sushi is average but I am a sushi connoisseur. I did like the Coconut roll & their house salads are large & delicious! Unfortunately I would only suggest going here if you have the time to wait around. I would 100% avoid this restaurant if you are on a time constraint or want to dine quickly. The waiting staff is all teenagers that seem like it is their first time ever waiting on tables. Which leads to mediocre service. We weren't checked on, no water refills & our 3 sushi rolls came out an hour after we sat down. Our sushi order had been skipped over & we were not told this by anyone. We overheard it at the sushi counter. The owner talked to us about it after I asked & kept saying their computer was broken as an excuse. We weren't comped but he did make up for it by gifting us a bottle of sake. So we came back a second time, hoping we had just hit it on a bad day. This time they seemed pretty busy so I asked the young waitress if it would take a long time, she said no, so we crossed our fingers and hoped for the best! We ordered appetizers & sushi. Our sushi came out at record speed but our appetizers were entirely skipped over. We told the staff multiple times that we didn't get our apps but by the time we were done eating it was too late for the appetizers. The owner talked to us again & gave us the same speech about the computer being broken. Then we had to tell our waitress twice to take the appetizers we never got off of our bill. We also never got checked on by the waitress or got water refills during our entire dining experience. It was a bummer that both times our dining experiences consisted of bad service & were a bit stressful. We felt lied to & that they were making excuses rather than telling us the truth & acknowledging their mistakes. We would've loved some clear communication & overall better customer service. I would suggest they hire some older servers & organize their computer system if it is messing up orders daily. Sadly we won't be coming here again. I wanted to like it so bad! read more

Bad Customer Service & Sub-par Food Unfortunately I have to give this place 2 stars because the customer service was bad and food was not very good. My boyfriend and I got takeout and upon arriving we were ignored by all of the staff. The owner was the closest to us and he was busy chatting with one of his employees and didn't bother asking us what we needed. We finally got the attention of an employee and they gave us our order without an apology. When we were leaving we didn't even get a "thank you for coming in" or "have a good night" from the numerous waitstaff that were hanging around doing nothing. Not a good look. The food also wasn't great. All of the nigiri had a strange taste and we're pretty sure one of the culprits was the nasty chemical-tasting ginger they put on the side. The salmon nigiri we got had a ton of skin left on it and was chewy and gross as a result. We didn't finish most of the sushi we ordered, it just wasn't good. read more

We stopped here while we were waiting to drop our Turo rental car off and head to the airport port. We love sushi and decided to give it a try instead of eating the normal American food. We got the California roll (8 rolls) it has Surimi crab, mayo, cucumber and Avocado. It was delicious I ate mine with a little wasabi and it hit the spot. The stand was down the main hall I in Stanley Market, it was very cool the way they have it set up, they have servers and everything is made to order, you order at the front and then they bring it to you when it is ready. Overall great experience especially being our last place we visited. read more

I was really skeptical about my initial sushi experience in a landlocked city miles and miles from the ocean. However this is our first stop in Denver for sushi and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. We came here on a holiday weekend afternoon, so there was no wait. Ordered three rolls of the menu; the Green monster, salmon tartare and spicy poke roll. We also ordered a separate sweet shrimp nigiri order. The shrimp was large and fried heads were delicious, but it wasn't the freshest ebi I had, so not as sweet. However the rest of the roles were amazing. My brother was skeptical about the veggie one, but the fried pumpkin really won him over. read more

Mango Delight Roll - sweet, refreshening and very yummy. Great mix of food items. Baked Mussels - it has seafood taste in it, very juicy with a hint of spiciness. And the mix of sauce made the mussels taste even more delicious. read more

We used to love this place but tonight's service and food was awful. They let us know they were backed up with sushi orders because they were short a chef. That was fine. We ordered the miso cod appetizer and it was undercooked and it was like a 2oz piece for almost 20 dollars. We got 2/4 rolls before we decided to cancel the last 2 rolls and leave. It's crazy because the last 2 rolls were the easiest! A California roll and an avocado roll for my 1 year old who I was counting to feed. It's literally avocado, rice and seaweed. Our server did not check on us and we had to flag her down everytime. There were other servers that were more kind. (The Asian lady working tonight) she wasn't even assigned to our table but checked on us and offered more napkins and water. read more

This is very good sushi. They were out of octopus but that happens. They were slammed and there was confusion when they tried to get us seated. There were four of us and they seated us a three chair table with three sets of utensils. One of the guests had to go find his own chair and we had to asked for extra plates and utensils. They have beer and wine-no liquor. Sushi was tasty and moderately expensive. Orders showed up in succession about ten minutes apart but again they were slammed. I would definitely go back but they need to get organized and not appear panic stricken when people come to the counter to be seated. They have non-sushi items as well. read more

Overpriced, terrible service, old food. The lady at the counter dared to ask me if I was okay with the price of my meal. Do I look like I'm broke? I ordered pickup, and didn't get notified of my order. When I finally did get it, the food was room temperature. My salad somehow had dressing in a part of it despite the dressing being on the side. Are they reusing leftovers? Also my tuna tasted fishy, and when I pressed my chopstick to see if it was fresh, it wasn't. Gross, terrible experience! Never going back. read more

I've wanted to visit Misaki for a while now, so I was happy to finally try it out last week. The restaurant is in a great, central location at the bustling Stanley Marketplace. The decor is industrial, and my son had fun sitting at the motorcycle table. We enjoyed some edamame, veggie sushi, and hot sake, and everything was fresh and tasty. The restaurant is very sensitive to GF customers, like their sister restaurant Qi-Lin, which is just around the corner. (Thank you!) I really like this place; my only request is that Misaki offer more vegetarian sushi options, eg., portobello mushroom, sweet potato, avocado and peanut, etc. read more

Please beware of this place. Ordered takeout a few times from here over the past few months and the quality seems to have greatly diminished each time. After my most recent order, I will not be returning. The takeout order was ready past the promised time, they forgot two of the eight items we ordered, the chicken-pork gyoza had a bone in it, a piece of plastic glove was found in the sweet potato tempura roll, and all of the rolls we ordered were cut very unevenly. Maybe it was an off night, but all of those things happening with one order tells me that maybe there are some serious issues with this place. I did call and ask for a refund for the two missing items as well as the gyoza and sweet potato roll. They said they'd refund those four items and only ended up refunding about half of what they cost. Not even worth it to call back and ask for the full amount promised. Giant red flags all around. read more

Great food, but service is pretty poor (perhaps because they are staffed by people who appear to be high school age). This place is awesomely good! I wouldn't say that I was surprised on how good Misaki was because small "hole in the wall" type Japanese restaurants have always been good for me. We came here on Memorial Day and it was packed. We got lucky enough to have a small table for 2 available. Misaki only has a small sushi bar area and only a handful of tables. I expect a long wait if you are one of the unlucky ones. We ordered hot sake, JFC (Japanese Fried Chicken or Kara-age), sashimi sampler, uni, Misaki roll, Spider roll, and the Monkfish liver. The JFC is a must have. Perfectly fried with just the right amount of batter and spices. The Misaki roll is also a must have, especially if you love a lot of flavors at once. Each bite makes you feel like there is a party in your mouth and everyone is dancing. The wife didn't like the Monkfish liver at all but I enjoyed it. If you like liver and fish, then this would be perfect for you. Uni was out of Santa Barbara CA and tasted like they just picked it out of the ocean that morning. Out of everything, our least favorite was the spider roll. We have had definitely better, but it also was not in the same world as the rest. The roll seemed like the step child of the plate; Not really cared for and wearing second hand clothing. They offered another bottle of sake to us for free because they were running a little slow. We didn't really realize that they were running slow but we were grateful that they paid attention to that. Our experience was made even better because of it. Looking forward to eating here again and to try other things on the menu. read more

friend was raving about this place and finally had chance to check it out. as soon as I walked into the Stanley, I can distinctively make out Misaki standing out from the crowd. the lanterns of differnt colors, sushi bar and small tables dotting the area. it definitely captured essence of Japanese restaurant right in Denver. tried few rolls with sashimi appetizer with green tea. sashimi appetizer had 3 different types of fish. tuna was sliced way too thick. water was served in ugly plastic cup, the kind you will encounter at the buffet. I don't see why when beer is served in glassware. still need to work out few kinks but has lot of potential. read more

To cut to the chase, this is the best tasting sushi restaurant I've been to in Colorado. Maybe even ever - aside from Nobu. The inside is casual and very unassuming considering the gourmet food. Their menu is on the smaller side, but every dish is special and you can absolutely taste the high quality ingredients and freshness with every bite. The downside- while I hate to say it, but the prices. While I completely agree that the heftier price tag reflects the high food standards, the atmosphere does not. I'm surprised this place isn't swankier inside - the taste and presentation of their food would make a fancy inside more appropriate than a sort of casual cafe kind of restaurant. Also, their drinks are delicious, but I always find on the weaker side and not as "5 star looking" as their food. Which is fine, but all cocktails are $12 each which is definitely more than they should be. My last experience dining here over the weekend was fantastic and our server was beyond friendly. I would say she was a little rushed as she was working as hostess AND bartender but she managed to do it with ease. It took a while for them to bring the bill, but I didn't mind because I didn't feel pressured to get out of there which is the vibe most restaurants give off, especially during the pandemic. We spent a good few hours eating and drinking and it was one of my favorite places we've eaten in a while. Will definitely be returning, but unfortunately not on a regular basis as it's for sure a splurge and prices are not on par with what I normally spend on a sushi dinner. read more
