You put down your name and number and the call and text you when your table is ready. The wait was about 40 minutes. At first I didn't want to wait but decided to give it a go anyway. I had the herb scrambled eggs which came with a side of labneh cheese, Israeli salad which was delicious tomatoes cilantro onions and some salts and spices and pita. WTF is an acronym reserved for sheer astonishment and amazement, as in, "How didn't I get here sooner?! WTF?!" The food astonished me with how amazing everything tasted. Or maybe that's not the case for you. But don't judge me. I was never in the mood for a Mediterranean brunch because I never had one. But here I am, having just recently feasted, and dreaming of seconds. I started with the Aperol Spritzer, one of their few cocktails (the bar focuses on beer and wine), made with Aperol and a slice of fresh grapefruit topped with prosecco. A perfect brunch cocktail, especially if you are into the sour like I am. Bruch today was the burekas dish. Fluffy pastries with olives and cheese. I tasted mostly the pastry, so the feta is not overwhelming in any way. I smeared it with the labneh cheese and wiped my plate clean. A fresh Israeli salad of tomatoes and cucumber accompany and fill you up without the heavy feeling after. Known for their supposedly amazing shakshuka we figured we'd come by and give this place a try. My love of Mediterranean always gets the better of me so this restaurant has the perfect cuisine for that. I was told their weekends are the busiest and I'm not a fan of waiting for a table so came by on Friday. That worked out well, we were seated right away and a friendly waiter brought over menus and water. Of course I ordered the shakshuka and an omelet dish. The shakshuka, although definitely tasty and delightful, was not what I was expecting and also not the best I've ever had. It was not spicy and the tomato base was watery and more American than Israeli. The omelet was great. Fresh, tasty and healthy. I liked that. I did have to wait a bit to catch the waiters attention when I wanted an extra pita. By the time the pita came, the shakshuka wasn't hot anymore. (Slight issue that I'm sure could be fixed easily) Overall our breakfast experience was nice and peaceful. The restaurant was hardly busy. I would advise going on Saturday mornings, unless you are willing to wait a while for a table. read more

OMG this place !! Now this place is a MUST try! We had so much here and it was EXCELLENT ! The white Sangria is on point ! Very crisp and refreshing ! This was a great way to start our NY experience. It's a very cold December night and our Airbnb host in Brooklyn suggested 5th Ave. After a couple of sweeps on 5th Ave we decided on Miriam. There was no regret on that either because the food was excellent and so was the service. She was on the spot from the minute we walked in the door. I'm sure it helped that we beat the dinner rush but something tells me our experience would have been great regardless. We started off with some drinks. A very nice Pinot Noir for me and a hot apple cider for him that was made with some sort of moonshine, if you can believe it. Well, at least that's what she called it. Then we had the most amazing flatbread served with a sliced pickle but the piece de resistance was the butter nut squash appetizer. For an entree we both had the winter stew and this... Oh my. Chick peas in a savory stew base made for two. Topped with a sour cream. Skipping dessert we went right for the Turkish coffee which was loaded with cardamom. The salad was so crisp and refreshing, and the yogurt was cool and creamy. Loved the home fries, which was seasoned and fried perfectly. I loved feeling like I was eating a clean, healthy breakfast (well if you ignore the eggs). My friend enjoyed hers as well, although they took forever bringing out more pita for her. Unfortunately, we gave 2/3 a thumbs down: first, we were very excited about the stuffed artichoke because the picture on their online menu is of this huge, bright, beautiful stuffed artichoke. In reality, we had two small, shriveled ones that left us unfulfilled. Second was the meatballs, which were small and hard. It came with good labneh but only one pita- an extra was $4. My favorite place for brunch, hands down. The first time I came there was no wait at all. I got the cucumber cocktail and the Norwegian Eggs, both were amazing. The eggs came with fresh salad and potatoes; the eggs were organic and the nova lox salmon was great. I went back about two weeks ago and got the Norwegian eggs again. I also ordered the chocolate hazelnut drink which was basically hot cocoa that tasted like Nutella. Couldn't ask for anything better, right? The wait was about 15 minutes the second time I went and I had to wait outside (there was no room inside)......but this just goes to show how great this place is! If you're looking for an A+ brunch spot in Park Slope, you have just found the treasurer at the end of the rainbow. Miriam's is on point with their food and prices. I usually order the Israeli Breakfast which includes Sunny Side Up Eggs, Yogurt sauce, thick tasting bread, some salad and potato's on the side. I love dipping that thick break into the yogurt sauce as I experience a food orgasmic feeling. I always order a Bloody Mary and Coffee to drink along with my dish. My Elite Yelp Wifey has given it 5 stars as well as its our Sunday Fun day Brunch Day at Miriam's. Staff is super nice and quick to service. The ambiance is really cool as well. Delicious! I ordered the Mediterranean Crispy Dough served with two eggs and a side of shredded tomatoes, spicy harissa & pickles. The crispy dough was about the size of a large pancake, mildly sweet, and very heavy. I enjoyed trying this dish, but I probably would opt for something lighter next time. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the bartenders put together the drink orders. One of them made an extra mocha latte and offered it to us on the house. It was delicious! We started with complimentary pickles and seasoned pita bread. The pickles were nice to have around when cleansing your palate in between other appetizers. For starters, we opted for the Goat Cheese Crostini, Meatballs, and Burekas. All three were good, but I would recommend the crostini and the meatballs foremost. The cheese was fried in an exquisite manner that preserved the richness and creaminess of the goat cheese yet gave it a crispy outer texture. It was topped with roasted peppers and honey while sitting on a perfectly toasted slice of baguette. It had a great balance of flavors and textures. My favorite appetizer was the meatballs. Miriam has a very prevalent middle eastern influence, and the meatballs truly epitomized it. It starts with a bowl of labeneh cheese which has a yogurt/cheese ambiguity. It's light yet creamy, and it allows other flavors to flow easily. Next, there is a small pool of pomegranate sauce filled with a myriad of spices. This gives the dish sweetness and earthiness. Then came the meatballs which were filled with so many spices and herbs that they couldn't be mistaken for any cuisine other than middle eastern. To top this all off, were crushed pistachios. It was very smart, balanced, and cultural dish. It's the type of dish I aspire to make when cooking. For the main course, we split the Merguez Couscous. Merguez is a Moroccan sausage which had a flavor profile comparable to the meatballs. It was a bit more mild and the meat was more prevalent. It came in a delicious stew with celery, carrots, squash, raisins, and zucchini which was a pleasure to lay over the couscous. The flavors blended together nicely and the dish embodied a homey nature. Miriam's had a couple of nice craft options on tap, but they clearly specialize in wines. What an amazing happy hour offer!! I was psyched when I found this place and saw the offer. Not only is it 2 for 1 wine or beer but its 2 for 1 one meze's! And the meze list is very extensive. The meze's are $3.50 and the wines can range anywhere from $7-10. The bartender, David, was awesome! He hooked us up. For meze we had the hummus, babaganoush, kadaif wrapped shrimp with harissa aioli and falafel. Along with olives and pickles on the house with a pita bread that had been grilled with maybe some za'taar on it?! The hummus and babaganoush were a very generous size. Each meze was filled with EVOO that needed to be blended in. The hummus wasn't too thick but it was creamy and full of flavor with hints of garlic and lemon. The babaganoush was also outstanding, the eggplant was roasted perfectly and with the warm bread it really didn't get any better. The Kadaif Wrapped Shrimp (2) with the Harissa Aioli might have been my favorite. The shrimp is wrapped in a shredded phyllo dough type shell and then flash fried. The crunch from the shredded phyllo dough with the tender shrimp was mouthwatering but it was the harissa sauce that made this dish. Falafel, they only give three smaller sizes balls of falafel and since there was two of us I figured they would have at least hooked it up and gave 4, and also to fill the plate as they looked a little lost. The falafel was extremely flavorful and had that beautiful green inside. Our bill for the two of us .... are you ready ... $15!! What!? Miriam's is the perfect place to start your evening if your looking for some apps to kick the evening off and how can you beat that price tag right there?!
