Nice restaurant, the food is great , very flavorful, a little on the pricier side though. Decor/vibe was so cute , great for a few photos . It was a little hot in the restaurant though. Dessert was definitely the best part , we tried some dishes we'd never heard of and we were very pleased . read more

Came here for dinner with a friend on Easter Sunday. I was excited to finally come back after my previous review just for drinks. We were seated right away as it was not that crowded. That was a plus. Regardless there seems to be plenty of seating. The food was good but I will tell you now I have to give Miriam two stars for the less than stellar service. We ordered a sesame flatbread and calamari from the meze menu. The flatbread came on time and was delicious. It was not until our entrees came that there was recognition from our waitress that we did not get the calamari and it seemed it was not ordered. For entrees, I got the winter salad and my friend got the lamb tagine. Both were really good. The salad was fresh and filling. There was a perfect amount of dressing. The lamb was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. By the time we were done with our entrees, the calamari arrived. It was good but I wish it was crispier. For dessert, we got some flat overly sweet cereal tasting thing with pistachio ice cream on top. That was the only item we did not like during our meal. I also got a cup of mint tea with fresh mint leaves and it was the best thing ever. Now on to the service, which is this case was some of the worst I have ever had. Our waitress only filled our water glasses once and hardly checked into see how we were doing. At least three other staff people either brought our food to the table or cleared it, which just seemed so all over the place for a dinner service that was not even that busy. On top of that, when we wanted the check, we had to hail down our waitress multiple times. She would pass our table, look over as we were looking over at her and continue walking, even though it was obvious we were done as our table was empty. I really liked the food here but I would not come back just based on the service. It was too much of a pain and took away from the dining experience. read more

I came here excited for Israeli food. Upon arriving, I waited 20 minutes in line for a seat without a host or anyone to let us know/guide us about our ETA and how seating works. We eventually sat down and ordered, and I hoped that the food would be worth it after reading the reviews. The shakshuka was average and the portion was very small for the price tag of $18. Two of my friends ordered omelettes - the server messed up the order (they had asked for no potatoes due to strict dietary restrictions and still were served potatoes instead of salad). The side of Israeli salad was also the size of a sampler. Overall, the food itself was very subpar and expensive. They have outdoor dining, but it will take a while to get a seat. Not worth it, and definitely not true Israeli food or hospitality. read more

Really loving Brooklyn Brunch places lately! Finally got the chance to try Miriam after hearing rave reviews. Love the big wide windows up front. Our meal - we got the madam croquet with over easy egg on top of Canadian bacon and swiss cheese.. mmm it was delicious! The home fries were not over fried and was sautéed. Made it a very good combo for my meal. My brunch buddy had the steak & eggs, & he really enjoyed it. Perfectly cooked medium w a sunny side egg. Coffee comes with our brunch meal. That's a good deal! Service was attentive and quick. Can't wait to return & try that amazing looking Israel breakfast!! read more

wonderful people and wonderful service. i enjoy going into places where I don't expect to be a lifetime favorite. ambiance was set up beautifully. a nice place to relax while eating. the food was so great I ordered takeout with a full stomach just to have it again at home. I can not say enough things about the fresh lamb burger. read more

Food excellent but service not so great. Waited a long time to get attention and a longer time to get food. Staff could use some training.

The brunch at Miriam is something to get excited about. From the shashuska to the israeli breakfast to the pancakes- everything is incredible. My husband and I love this place, it is a great place for a special occasion or to impress friends who are visiting. A Park Slope staple- go try it! read more

The comfort food. The food I have no questions about why it is combined together. There are many vegetarian dishes and it was hard for me to give a preference to just one. We have to come again. From now this place is my favorite read more

That line in the front even during Covid times... yea it's for a reason. I went for brunch and tried the green and "regular" shakshuka. Both were delicious but I prefer the sweeter taste of red Shashuka - the green tomatoes (maybe season) lacked flavor to me. read more

The food arrived on time and was either cold or frozen. None of the dishes matched the photos of "Miriam at home". The 4 oz fish portion had no additional vegetables, the 6 oz short rib ragu came without polenta/mashed potatoes, the 7 1/2 oz rice came without any herbs or spices on top. No sides were included as shown in photos on line. The babaganoush and bread were as expected. The meal had to be heated. This was a very disappointing experience. We feel that we were mislead on almost every item! This this restaurant usually is much better and a delightful place to eat but not recommended now. read more

A nice change in brunch compared to my usual unlimited mimosas and chicken & waffles. I ordered the shakshuka, burekas breakfast and a side of falafels which was more than enough for two people. I definitely enjoyed the falafels the most due to how flavorful it was. I tend to like my shakshuka a bit spicy but this is an order I would recommend for anyone that's wants to try something new but may be hesitant. The decor in the restaurant gives off a subtle Mediterranean feel but it's definitely a bit cramped. I came on a Sunday afternoon however the wait wasn't terrible. About 30 mins read more

I am a fan of how chic and warm Miriam is. I came here recently with a friend for dinner. I ordered the chicken shawarma. The chicken was juicy and tender. The spinach and mango chutney were delicious. The portion size was large, I ended up bringing some home. For dessert, I enjoyed the molten chocolate cake. It was cooked well, with each bite being the perfect mix of cake and gooeyness. Overall, my meal was amazing. Friendly staff. Outdoor seating. Takes cards. My one complaint is that it is very loud. It was very hard to hear my friend throughout the meal and I had to yell to be heard. Despite the noise levels, I'll definitely be back. read more

I just can't stop going to Miriam. The whole menu is to die for! The service can be a bit slow at times but it's worth it for the fluffy bagels, delicious shakshuka, and perfect hummus. read more

Food is quite good (almost 4 stars), beers (at lunch at least) are tiny, and the plastic stuff hanging everywhere is just ridiculous. Which world they live in? All that plastic is supposed to make us feel better? No, it doesn't, but it will get you a 2 star review read more

This place has been on my list for a while! We got lucky and even though we didn't have a reso for brunch we were able to grab a table for 2 with no wait during a busy time. Food was delicious - we had the shakshuka, granola, burekas, French toast. The service staff was friendly though a bit overwhelmed, you have to get up and find someone if you need something cuz they will not stop at your table lol. Overall it was a delicious experience and I would definitely go back again. read more

Came in on a friday afternoon and was seated right away. Had a difficult time choosing what to get from the menu bc they all sounded so delicious! But my friend and i went with the chicken shawarma, crispy lamb arias, and the israeli breakfast, that was all really good. Everything tasted very fresh. I personally really enjoyed the chicken shawarma that came with two sauces for the dish full of flavor. read more

Best meal I've had in years! Our server, Erica, was excellent with her menu and wine suggestions! Just a lovely Valentine's Night.

I really loved the outdoor set up. Went for brunch on a Friday. The servers were very accommodating to my meal requests and sides, and the food was absolutely delicious. I got the mushroom and fontina omelette, bacon and some lamb Will definitely be coming back and with friends read more

An awesome experience kind thoughtful staff delish food and great seating . Full restaurant and super fast & tasty meals

Very cool Mediterranean / Israeli brunch spot. I loved it, the food and service was fantastic. The food does take time to come out, but take your time, enjoy a sangria or some strong coffee and chit chat with your friends before the food comes out. The shakshuka (eggs poached in a tomato sauce) is mad delicious and comes with a nice tasty harrissa (n. african hot pepper sauce), it goes really well with the fried dough (which you should also get), the hummus is banging. And the burekas (stuffed puff pastry thing), were also tasty as hell too. The green shakshuka is not as good as the red one, but it's still pretty good. Good stuff, but dont come here if you''re in a rush! read more

The food is really delicious and freshly made. The service, on the other hand, is subpar. The place was pretty empty and I felt like I needed to keep looking for a server to get me water, to get me a knife, to get me my check. They are friendly but not attentive at all. read more

This is my favorite brunch and dinner spot in Park Slope. For brunch I always go with the Israeli breakfast - it's a good amount of food and also reasonably light, which is important cause I need room for a side of their French toast! Mmm soooo good! I've been with others - and of course tried whatever they were having - and it's allll good. For dinner they have a fantastic happy hour special on drinks and food - WARNING - make sure you sit at the bar. It doesn't apply if you sit at a table. Was super disappointed by the check because I didn't understand that. Again, all the food was great :) highly, highly recommend. read more

Last time I dined there, the service was friendly and fast. The Israeli menu, while a little pricey, is imaginatively put together, with a good size portion and was delicious. Miriam is easily one of the top brunch spots in park slope. All the food I have had is great. My favorites are definitely the boreka breakfast and the schnitzel sandwich. The boreka breakfast really has a nice balance of everything you would want in an Israeli breakfast while the schnitzel is cooked to perfection. One thing to note is if it are having an espresso based coffee drink, get it in early- I think they have only one machine so it can take a little while to get your coffee. Also, they don't take brunch reservations so make sure to show up early as you probably will wait 15-30 mins depending on your group size. I would not come here with more than 4 people if possible. I have not come here for dinner yet but wave to try it at some point. All I know is their brunch is definitely worth the visit read more

Came here for lunch in February with a group of coworkers. We ordered a mix of dishes, but my review is mostly based on what I had. I ordered merguez sausages, served in a pita pocket with a side salad and fries. The sausages were fine, nice spices and were not dry. I think for the price, the salad should have been something more than what I call 'Costco salad mix.' Also fries should have been crispy as well, they came soft (aka the oil was not hot enough). Overall, from what I saw on other plates, not sure if necessary to come here for Middle Eastern/Levant dishes, but it is a good place if folks want different things for their breakfast/brunch. Nice decor. read more

We visit our family in Brooklyn every year and enjoy trying new restaurants. This year one of our new and now favorite places is Miriam's on 5th Ave. The food was outstanding and plentiful. The leftover dinner I brought home was just as good the next day as it was when I ordered it. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. The service was attentive and friendly. Although they were busy we never felt rushed. I do recommend reservations. read more

I was looking for a place that served brunch in the week and I stumbled upon this gem. The fact that it was also middle eastern cuisine was a super plus. I love Yemeni food and although their specialty isn't Yemeni dishes I did see a few of the things I liked. I opted to try something completely different. I had the herbed eggs. I usually like my food very fresh I don't like salt and spices. However the eggs were very fresh. I like the salad. The dessert knafe was amazing ! Also I liked the salad? Probably my favorite. Service : the service was great the waitresses were attentive and the bar tender did a great job with the mimosas. The prices was also very reasonable about $18 per plate. Atmosphere: the tables are small. The decor was a little dark. I like that when we went it wasn't crowded. I would definitely go back and try something different. read more

Gathered for a post-wedding brunch. The staff was very accommodating and attentive. The nenu has a number of Israeli dishes and some more familiar "American" breakfast items like French toast and pancakes. I had the green shakshuka, and it was spectacular - a delicious departure from the tomato-based version. We had a party of 12 and were seated in the pleasant parklet outside, which kept us reasonably sheltered from a cloudburst over Brooklyn. read more

My Wife and I came here for a early dinner. The ONLY thing on the menu that was tasteful was the Raspberry Lemonade. My wife had the Fish, flavorless even the mashed potatoes needed season. I begrudgingly gave this place another go at the request of my friend and unfortunately, my experience led the ratings to go down even more. While the brussel sprouts were enjoyable and the cauliflower was decent, the chicken shawarma was mediocre at best. The lost star is primarily for terrible service. Nobody came to use between the time our order was taken and our check was given to us. We were sitting outside and no one checked in with us and I could not every get a water refill. I will be skipping this place in the future and focusing on all the other neighborhood gems nearby. read more

Man, this place was PACKED at 2 on a Sunday. I was expecting it to be busy but not THAT busy; luckily I was by myself so I was able to get a seat at the bar without a wait (wait for a table would have been 40+ min). I ordered the Israeli breakfast with a side of falafel, both of which I had heard good things about. Eggs were perfectly cooked; I don't know how they did it, but they were some of the softest eggs I've ever eaten. The Labneh cheese reminded me a bit of Greek yogurt in both taste and consistency-- it had that same tangy flavor I associate with yogurt. My favorite has to be the falafel though: crunchy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. It's so difficult to find good falafel sometimes, so I was really happy with the falafel here. The place is pretty loud though, and like I previously mentioned fairly crowded, so if you're looking for a nice, quiet, intimate brunch, this might not be the place for you. read more
