Miriam is one of the best places to brunch in Park Slope. The menu is fascinating and unique and the food is consistently excellent!

Excellent flavorsome and filling brunch!! I got the Burekas ($17, a bit pricey but I guess that's NY for you) which was served on a big plate and included scrambled eggs (cooked perfectly), a tomato-cucumber salad, (not sure if it's Israeli) yogurt with good-quality olive oil + dried spices, a green tahini sauce (mild and fresh-tasting) and of course those flakey olive-feta filled pastries! I haven't had Israeli food before this but I could tell the meal was prepared with quality ingredients. Everything tasted freshly made and I greatly enjoyed the textures and flavors on my plate. Came as a party of two on a Saturday around 10:30AM and it took a bit for us to get seated even though there were plenty of open tables indoors. It was actually quite dark inside so we chose to sit by the open windows. My friend got their fried crispy dough, which for the same price was surprisingly minimal-- two sauces and two poached organic eggs on top of the thinly stretched out dough. I got to try a piece of the fried dough and it was surprisingly savory (not just flavorless bread)! I don't think our waitresses were very attentive to us after serving the food. I found a thin thread of white string in my tomato-cucumber salad but left it on a napkin and continued eating. We also ordered a side of pancakes (which only comes with a pad of butter and maple syrup) + paid extra for fresh berries (raspberry, blackberry, blueberry) but this was a BIG DOWNER. Took the pancakes to-go as we were in a rush to leave and ate them the next day. Wow, are these pancakes very lackluster. First, they were dry (didn't look special when they were originally served) and super overpriced. $5 for one small pancake that tasted like it was made out of a box and what's worse is that the tiny handful of berries we got cost us $7. $7 for NOT FRESH berries that had mold on one raspberry. Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to complain about this as we were just visiting NY for the weekend. read more

3.5 Stars to be exact. We stopped by Miriam this Sunday morning before returning to my Brooklyn home. This place was jammed packed even upon opening. I would anticipate much waiting at each phase which is probably the only downside of this place. This is a decent spot for Israeli brunch. For our brunch today, I got the Burekas plate while my companion got the Norwegian Eggs. La Colombe coffee is served here and it comes with complimentary refills! Burekas plate was 'eggcellent'! It comes with two burekas (an olive stuffed flaky pastry topped with seasame seeds), Israeli salad, lebanese cheese, green sauce, and two eggs any style which I opt for herb scrambled eggs. Herb scrambled eggs were basically scrambled eggs with scallion, cilantro, and parsley - simple yet so good even without condiments! This was a simply delicious plate for those who wants something light. I really enjoyed it! Norwegian Eggs. I will start off by saying, skip this, it is soggy. Poached eggs were extremely raw that the yolk is room temperature while the smoked salmon was cooked on top of the hot but soggy english muffin. On the other hand, side salad and potatoes that it comes with was really good. Service was okay since it was super busy. Our waitress took our orders and refilled our coffee cups when we needed her to. Overall, a decent experience and probably would revisit only if I am in the area. read more

I first came here on a Thursday afternoon and fortunately it wasn't busy at all so we were seated right away and we got to choose our table. The waiter who served us was very nice. For drinks we ordered an almond milk latte and a black coffee - my sister said the espresso was good and the coffee has free refills. It took unusually long for the server to bring us our coffees though, maybe 15 minutes? When it came to waiting for our food, I was disappointed that it took maybe 35 to 40 minutes alone. Fortunately, we weren't in a rush and I didn't mind too much but it would have been nice for the server or hostess to offer an apology for the long wait time, we weren't the only guests waiting a while for food though. Finally, when we received our food, it was still hot and everything was flavorful and just as I expected but this is my first time having Israeli food. When we were paying the bill, there was some confusion about the credit card we used and the server was nice about it but once they left our table after giving back the declined card it took another 10 minutes or more for them to return which again, was odd. I know that this restaurant has lots of outdoor seating but it wasn't acknowledged that we'd have to wait a while for things. I would return for brunch but the service could've been better. read more

Pretty obvious this place is awesome! I thought it was going to be overhyped but wow it deserves all the high praise! Everything was so delicious and fresh. We went around 10 and only had a short wait. It's well worth it. All of the outdooor seating was full. They won't seat you unless your party is all there and the wait goes by quicker when it's just 2 people. read more

This is by far my favorite spot for breakfast. I recommend coming here closer to their opening time considering the wait time. We come on a Friday morning to avoid it. The food is delicious always fresh and the waiters are very attentive. My usual is the burekas brunch meal and I never finish it, but it is sooooo delicious. We sometimes get the lamb sausage on the side, hummus or potato pancake. I'm not crazy about the pancake but everything else is amazing. I rate this spot 10/10. If you don't like something they will change it and offer you something else ( my husband didn't like the coffee so they offered a mocha latte and he said it was amazing ) great decor, great food and awesome vibe :) read more

Before I moved to NY my brother would eat at all the same places. And slowly I have been luring him to brunch with me. Some mornings I can barely get him to leave the block radius of his home. It's like he turns into a pumpkin if he goes too far. But every once in awhile I get him to venture. And those sometimes have been the yummiest of brunches. This leads me to Miriam. It had been on my brunch list for awhile and I was very excited to finally try Miriam. We had to wait when we arrived and the staff seemed a little overwhelmed. However, I was determined to finally give this place a whirl. We sat down and ordered coffee. After looking over the menu I knew I had to get the Israeli Breakfast. The breakfast is two eggs any style, I always get poached eggs, with labneh cheese, home fries, Israeli salad and pita. It was the perfect change from the classic American breakfast. I enjoyed the fresh Israeli salad, the juicy, crisp tomatoes, cucumbers and herbs. And the labneh is a strained Greek yogurt and lends the perfect tang to the meal. I loved dipping my pita in the bright yellow egg yolk. read more

I came here because another restaurant I initially wanted to go to was too crowded. The wait here was not bad for Sunday Brunch, but my overall experience turned me off from this spot. First of all, I had to approach the hostess and ask for a table because she was too busy chatting with another server. Then, while waiting for a table the hostess bumped on me which is understandable because it was crowded, but all I got was a look of disdain. When we finally got seated, I ordered coffee and for some reason the milk came in a shot glass with bits of coffee sediments in it. I didn't even bother asking for clean milk since they were busy. I ordered the eggs benedict which came after 40 minutes. I also found the area we were sitting on which was in the middle table in front of the bar to be cramp and busy. The servers were walking back and forth and I do not blame them for hitting me from time to time since it was crowded, but I would just go somewhere else where I am not constantly being bumped by people walking around me. I have to say that the food did not compensate for the bad experience. Overall, I would not recommend this place. read more

BRUNCH 10am-4pm ----- I will tell you what you must order ;) Thank you for a non-traditional brunch (no pancakes, no toasts, no waffles). This place is a great spot for brunch (especially because most brunch places stop at 3pm, Miriam has the great israeli menu for 10am-4pm) and everything is excellent and fresh. -*MUST* I had the BUREKAS $15 and it was so delicious. The feta and olives stuffed freshly baked bread was amazing, super soft and slightly flaky. I chose sunny side up eggs, and the tahini (sesame) sauce (greenish) was so good. I truly loved this dish. The labneh cheese, was almost like an extra thick greek yogurt. It was good, though doused in olive oil and too rich in itself. Israel salad (tomatoes, cucumbers diced, surprisingly nicely dressed) good. GREAT -*MUST-ISH* My friend had the Isreali Breakfast which was excellent too, she wouldn't' stop raving about the potatoes! which is weird, but they were truly nicely pan fried. She wanted scrambled eggs, same sides $15. GOOD -My friend #2 had the Herbed Eggs $15 but these were just okay. I prefer any of the two above dishes. MEH *MUST* Side of falafel and hummus, very crunchy and tasty, the hummus clearly homemade, what a treat! These are a must, trust me. Watch my video and you'll understand. GREAT +++ Coffee complimentary with brunch, and it was good. I definitely would recommend it for brunch. I came here for dinner 7 years ago and it wasn't as memorable as it was today. Parking, street, not too bad on a Autumn Sunday 3:15pm. Very nice service and attention. read more

This was the first time my family and I have been to Mirams since Covid and it will be my last time My wife and my daughter was sitting at a table waiting for me to find parking on a raining day. When I arrived at the table in about 3 minutes later, the host was lecturing us about holding the table up. I was not in the mood to be lectured. We always liked the food there, even though, its noisy and tables are on top of each other but we dealt with it. However, after this experience, we will not be returning there read more

Holy mother freakin burekas!!! Never in my life have I tasted something so divine! I ordered myself the Bureka breakfast. With breakfast, you can get free coffee! YAY! The food took a quite a while to come out, which is why it's not 5 stars. When my dish came out, I was a little sad that the Bureka was so small. I felt my heart drop a little. But when I bit into that tiny little pastry, I didn't care. It was just sooo flippin delicious! It had a nice, soft and doughy consistency and is stuffed with feta and olives. I ordered my eggs overeasy. I think the eggs they buy are smaller than what I'm use to. The labneh cheese and Israeli salad were good too. But honestly, the burekas stole the show. I would come back here JUST to get the burekas and thats it. read more

OK guys, I'm going to keep this review short(ish) and sweet. Because, really, you don't need to waste your time reading a long review about Miriam's. You just need to go to Miriam's.. And here's why: The Happy Hour. The glorious happy hour. It takes place everyday from 5-8pm. and why is it so glorious? 2 for 1 on all wine and beer. Ooo and all the meze's (small plates) are half off too. It's only at the bar, but the bar and the staff are so nice I did't mind sitting there, and I don't think you will either. On my most recent visit I had two glasses of Hans Von Muller Riesling (delicious!) and shared two apps. The first was butternut squash crisps (super thin sliced squash cooked and tossed in a lovely herb blend and parm cheese, served with yogurt). This dish is so different than all the other squash dishes I've ever had before and soooo good! Our second meze was a little bowl of meatballs. The cutest little meat-a-balls drizzled in a pomegranate sauce and covered with a handful of crushed pistachios. Yum yum yum. Loved both dishes. And my half of the bill was $11.50 (before tax/tip). Glorious glorious happy hour indeed. What are you doing tomorrow after work? Go to Miriam's! read more

This is what I'm talking about for a brunch spot!! I think it's very unique since I haven't tried a ton of Israeli/Middle Eastern food around the area, let alone for brunch. On a Saturday around noon there was about a 20 min wait outside but plenty of seating indoors. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Even the bathroom was so pretty inside lol. The menu has a ton of egg dishes which I was a big fan of. Pleasantly surprised by the burekas which is some sort of pastry and the Israeli breakfast is also popular. I would have also tried the herbed eggs. If you're around the area I would definitely recommend for brunch! They apparently also serve dinner too. read more

I loved Miriam, but I can see why people would beg to differ. It's a popular spot in the neighborhood, so prepare to wait if you come for brunch. My friends and I were seated at the bar to save the wait on a table. Service is quick and friendly. I ordered the burekas breakfast which comes with puffed pastry pockets filled with feta cheese and olives, served two any style eggs (fried in my case), labneh cheese, Israeli salad and tahini. I must warn you, the breakfast here is very, very light and healthy tasting. With the aid of additional sauce, I thought my breakfast was perfect. It was light, airy, and very clean tasting. My friend, on the other hand, struggled with the Israeli breakfast because it was too, too bland. Brunch here is unlike anything I have ever eaten. It was nice to take a step outside of the usual brunch fare and experience something culturally unique. I'd recommend Miriam on all levels. read more

Have been here for brunch twice. The eggs are always perfectly poached. The burekas were delicious, the Norwegian eggs come with salmon, which seems homemade but doesn't have the smoked salmon flavor. The side potatoes are perfectly fried The shakshukas are good, my husband preferred red to green. The potato pancake and the crispy bread sides were great. Very good service! read more

Just found my new favorite happy hour! 2 for 1 wine, beer, and mezes between 5:30 and 7:30. You really can't beat 2 glasses of rose prosecco for $9. And the Mezes, normally $3 each or 4 fo $10, are only $1.50 each. More importantly, the food is great. We loved everything we tried- the kadaif wrapped shrimp with harissa aioli (deep fried crunchy goodness in an AMAZING sauce), meatballs in pomegranate sauce (meatballs were small but the sauce was interestingly tangy/sweet), zucchini cake in yogurt sauce, and bureka (puff pastry stuffed with peppers, eggplant basil, and feta cheese in skordalia dipping sauce- good, but the least favorite of the mezes we tried). Perhaps even more importantly, the staff and vibe here are fantastic. Our bartender Angel was very friendly and his sincerity was so endearing. Good music here, even managed to hear the Knife's remix of Jose Gonzalez's "Heartbeats." Really cute space- classy Israeli decor, large windows, wooden tables/chairs. Can't wait to come back for more. read more

I've been meaning to come here for quite some time. I was here about 5 years ago on a brunch date, and all I remember is that I loved the hummus. I was back in here last night with a friend and we were immediately approached by our awesome waitress, Jasmine. Jasmine enthusiastically answered all of our questions and helped us with some ordering decisions. We started with a hummus plate. We asked for some cucumbers along with the pita. The pita was warm and soft and the cucumbers were super fresh. That hummus though! We just couldn't get enough. Later, I chose the winter stew which was a delicate assortment of chick peas, collards and spices, topped with perfectly cooked hunks of sweet potato rounds. The stew was warm and filling which was perfect for the cold day. My friend had an assortment of appetizers. She told me that the falafel was moist with a nice crunch on the outside and the meatballs were deliciously savory. I tried a bite of the pistachio coated goat cheese crostini with honey which was almost orgasmic. The cheese was gooey and warm and that pistachio crunch! I could eat it everyday. Jasmine tempted us with the dessert menus and we just couldn't look away. We got the knafe and the panna cotta. The panna cotta was creamy with a drizzle of sweet raspberry sauce on top. The knafe had a nice sized scoop of pistachio ice cream on top that my friend and I schmeared over the whole thing. It was sweet, crunchy and everything we ever wanted dessert to be. I will definitely be coming back for more. read more

My girlfriends and I came here for dinner this past weekend. We shared the Wild Striped Bass & Shrimp Ceviche, Butternut Squash Soup, Spanakopita, Chicken Shawarma, Grilled Eggplant Salad Meze, and a pitcher of Red Sangria. While the service was excellent, unfortunately we found the all the dishes (and Sangria) average, especially for the steep prices. Nothing really stood out on flavors. Mediocre AND overpriced? Not sure why this place got 4 stars. read more

I had been here once many years ago and wasn't particularly impressed and my friends have also had mixed experiences. This time I enjoyed the food and the music but service was slow and not as attentive as we would have liked. The eggs florentine was good but needed salt and the salad was barely dressed. I did like that there was a lot of lettuce though! The sabich was better than I expected and I was happy the eggs could be poached and not just hardboiled. The eggplant was perfectly cooked and not too greasy. The pickles were crunchy and flavorful and the hummus a lovely smooth mixture. I especially enjoyed the green tahini dipping and that the server offered us more pita(unsure if we were charged because service was slow and I had to run out!) The first table we sat at had not been sanitized yet so we had to switch but when we came back the table was still dirty and there were pickles on the floor. We sat under the speaker purposely and enjoyed the soul and motown tunes. There were some delays in getting water, the meal took close to 20 minutes and we got utensils after the food came. My friend had been the week prior and said service was super fast so I will give it another try. We sat on the sidewalk but they also had the street seating. read more

3.5 stars, rounding up since we had delivery... Speaking of visiting the restaurant, I bet the breakfast/brunch here would be pretty solid. The food we actually had was pretty tasty. We had the beef and lamb kofta kebabs, the chicken schwarma, and a bunch of mezes. I'd say the kebabs were above average, while the chicken was also pretty tasty. The mezes were, overall, the stand-outs. Now the prices for this above average food... let's just say, even with pretty substantial portions, this food don't come cheap. That would be my biggest hang-up. Perhaps the ambiance of the restaurant itself would make up for those prices... We'll try to visit the restaurant real soon and update this review. read more

A great Mediterranean brunch and dinner stop. I've been here for brunch and dinner and had great food both times. I'd say the down side is it's a little pricey and they messed up their service a bit. The shakshuka for breakfast was yum. It came with pita and hummus and I actually liked that more than the tomato and egg entree. I had a side of their homemade harissa and it's so good. Spicy, flavorful, and dangerous. I say dangerous because both times I could feel the garlic breath while leaving (but so worth). For dinner I a selection of 6 of their appetizers. It's normally 10$ a Piece or 3 for 27$. They ranged in sized and were all unique and tasty. The mushrooms were super smoky and a great texture, the beef wrapped in cabbage was the must sustenance of them, and the meatballs were so different with the sour yogurt pairing. But some dishes were really small and kinda surprising for the cost. The only lapse in service was that I told two different people I wanted extra pita to savor all the sauces but it never came out. And she never checked on us lest I would've reminded her I wanted more pita. Either way I still suggest this place! Especially for a nice family meal of 8, they have a wonderful window side table for a good family gathering read more

Food is delicious. Service is friendly and efficient. The decor is cute and interesting. I always have a good time here!

Wanted to try a new cuisine; Israeli food gets clubbed in with Mediterranean food but it has a very distinctive flavor palette. I got the green shakshuka, that came with pita, and others on the table got food for themselves. Norwegian Eggs Benedict, had a mind blowing hollandaise sauce. To freshen up, in a sudden New York heat, mint lemonade came to the rescue. It had a very interesting mint that we couldn't identify a specific flavor from which led us to believe it's probably from Israel. Definitely worth a try for a brunch spot! read more

Great good amazingly prepared delicious food!!!!!!!!! Best in Brooklyn area!! Will come back very soon . DDDDDD

Disappointed. My husband and I both had the chicken shawarma for our main and didn't like it at all. The chicken was dry. I was really hungry but didn't finish it because it just wasn't good. We also shared three mezes. The only standout was the goat cheese crostini - fried goat cheese balls in crostini. Cauliflower w tahini was decent. I disliked the sweet and sour eggplant. The small plates were definitely small for the price. 3 crostini for $9. Pita was kind of hard. Place is cute enough, but the food doesn't warrant a return visit. read more

We ate at Miriams recently and left there more than a little disappointed. We sat outside and it seemed that were forgotten as there were long pauses between being seated, then ordering, and finally being served. The waitress seemed to be training a new waitress, but if that was how the training went it was quite disappointing. My wife ordered a decaf coffee and the coffee was bitter, as if the water had boiled off and the balance that remained was not satisfactory. We asked the waitress if we could get an alternative cup and we're assured it would be no problem. However we mentioned it to the waitress, a busboy, the trainee yet the coffee was not replaced. The outside set up at Miriam's is nice, and we had enjoyed two earlier visits, but this time it seemed out of sight is out of mind. The food itself was good , we enjoyed a chicken schnitzel and a chicken shawarma . One of the side dishes was brined vegetables and that was quite bitter. read more

Miriam hummus - hummus with whole pieces of chickpea. Simple, bland, creamy and since I still prefer chunky hummus, it was okay. Lebanese roasted eggplant - mashed eggplant with diced beets. This was a great twist to the usual hummus spread for the pita bread. The beets paired well with the mashed eggplant creating a chunky spread and the mixture is just pure genius! Falafel - these tiny balls are crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. This texture distinctly signals your tongue to alert your brain that it's fresh. Dip it with the sauce provided and you have a good falafel. The only downside is the amount of salt it has, after two pieces, it was salty. Baklava - dry and very sweet; they used too much white sugar! Desserts with this pure sugar taste upsets my taste receptors. The pita bread was grilled! This is how all pita bread should be served; warm with grilled marks. read more

The covid protocols with socially distanced seating, sanitizers and tablet ordering was good, perhaps also as I went at a not so busy time I thought the servers were attentive. The reason for my 2 star is because of the sad quality, authenticity and taste of food. As a well travelled ( having lived in 5 continents) and massive foodie I was extremely underwhelmed by the entree I ordered , perhaps it was not their speciality but the duck was pretty awful ( saying my hail mary's, it was fresh and i don't get food poisoning) and the flavors of bitter greens weird raspberry concoction and regular potatoes so did not go well together. I was starving having done intermittent fasting and off a high of levain cookies the night before and another fine dining experience in the city. To salvage my disappointing night so far, I had hoped the tahini mousse the server recommended as "really good" would be a saving grace. No such luck! my hopes were dashed, as I walked back to my comfortable hotel ( which has a much better restaurant btw) after braving the brooklyn streets teenage mutant ninja turtle style rats, to find myself tasting some inedible goop with stale nuts. Nuts that didn't quite taste like pistachios or a dessert that looked like what the picture on the menu or server had promised. My bill for this culinary travesty was 41 and some change and tbh trader joe's soup, crackers and mochi may have made for a more delectable and satisfying dinner I would not recommend, best to hop over to the many other israeli/middle eastern treats in town such as Miss Ada, Reunion and Cafe Mogador I very rarely write reviews but felt compelled to ward off other foodies who have had middle eastern fare and may be sorely disappointed by whatever miriam thinks it's cooking up... read more
