Our family has dined in several times at Mirage over the last few years. The food has been tasty and the portions ample. Since the the spring of 2020, we have had food delivered at least 20 times from this restaurant, but the results have been only fair. The quality of the food has been good, except for the side of limp iceberg lettuce and a half-rotten baked potato. However, half of the orders have had errors ( e.g. substituting veal for eggplant, missing french fries, omitting our credit card slip, or delivering a regular instead of a deluxe order ). They did fix the errors or omissions when brought to their attention, but by that time the delivered portion was cold, or already eaten. The people taking phone orders are very courteous and the orders are delivered in a timely manner, but there seems to be a disconnect somewhere. As a dine in place I would give it a 4 rating -for take out, a 3. read more

I was there to watch the US Soccer game - place was at 30% capacity max when I was there, I wasn't getting water refills, and I'd settled my bill. Four other servers were watching the game with me, but the manager wanted me out and was quite passive aggressive about it. Classless. read more

Very inconsistent which is a shame as I live so close and they offer up such a large selection. I liked eating in as it is a pretty cool old school diner with little jukeboxes (mine didn't work) at the tables. The burgers can be great or the worst I've had in my life. Most of the burgers come with super soggy buns and the cooks never get the temperature of the burger right. I could one time get my burger charred or another time almost raw. It is hit or miss with the seafood although I have had some wonderful seafood fradiavlo over the years and the surf and turf can be cooked really well on a good night. I'm giving it two stars because of the horrible service and inconsistencies in the food. It is however probably one of the better diners in the neighborhood if you don't have a car because if I did I would go to El Greco in Sheepshead Bay. read more

I used to go here all the time about 3 years ago with some friends after work, I have never had any complaints. Well I went there recently with my boyfriend and we couldn't get past the bread basket. They had served us moldy bread and when the waitress brought the manager he said that it was seeds in the bread. Now I don't know if any of you have ever eaten moldy bread before bit I did one time by accident and moldy bread tastes like dirt. There is no way that was seeds in the bread, normal bread doesn't taste like dirt. The manager was very rude and there was no way we were staying, we ordered a BLT but if they serve moldy bread there is no way we were going take our chances with bacon. So we went to the Vegas diner instead and as always it was great. In conclusion I will never go to the Mirage again, and my friends will also be staying away. read more

Live very close to the place and occasionally stop by for breakfast or dinner. Generally, I get a burger with a side of fries and a cheesecake for dessert. Sometimes I get appetizers including mozzarella sticks or chicken fingers. For breakfast, I get the omelettes (Israeli) and pancakes. Prices are decent. Staff are respectful and generous. Food is good but nothing special. If you're looking for a convenient and comfy diner, this would be the place. read more

This place has the most disgusting service ; we ordered food at 230 am Saturday night and the server told us they r about to close the dinner. We ordered an omelette and mozzarella sticks. It took 45 mins for food to arrive and the potatoes were cold! The attitude we got from the manager was unbelievable. This place has to change people who work there. It's bad for the business. read more

I love this diner! I've been here numerous times for breakfast and it is always delicious. I recently ordered oatmeal and it actually came with a small glass of warm milk! The wait staff is excellent - super friendly and constantly refilling coffee. My go to place if in the neighborhood! read more

The pastrami rueben, forgive me for the spelling, extremely rubbery and impossible to finish, but the burgers are OK.

It was my first dining experience with my friends and it was quite great. The place was welcoming and we all had our bellies rounded by the foods. It was a bit too much for me. Only complain I had was the coffee. I called an ice mochachino and it tasted like just pure regular coffee with chocolate syrup in it and whip cream on top. Otherwise, service was great, food was okay, atmosphere was nice. read more

The burgers and sandwiches we ordered were good, no problem with the food, but the service was horrific. I had to flag down the busboy to get more water, and our waitress was nowhere to be seen. read more

After officially waking up with food poisoning I would rate this place less than 1 star if I could! The chicken tasted as if it was cooked or heated in a microwave, the waiter never once asked if I'd like my drink refilled, and eventhough I barely ate my meal and the waiter never once came to find out if my meal was okay. I'm disgusted by the lack of service at this place. read more

Yesterday my family and I went to eat at the mirage diner, the food is great, we were highly disappointed from how the waiter came up to us asking for more money for tip. When my husband tip him, he asked for more.We been coming here for years, never have I ever experienced such an unprofessional behavior. This will be the last time we ever come here. read more

Our waiter was not very friendly and not very attentive. We received bread rolls on of which had bright red stuff on side and upon mentioning it to the waiter he said it was from the onions which it obviously was not, I've cooked for many years and never saw onions like that not even cooking with red onions. Now dinner is over and before I could leave the restaurant my stomach is killing me, I spent 20 minutes in the bathroom before they had a chance to offer dessert. Needless to say I won't dine here again. read more

After Javier got in touch with me and made things right again i would change my review because the food they serve is really good. And the restaurant doesn't deserve bad ratings because of 1 employee. Some time in life all we want is an apology and all is right again =) read more

Don't go there we won't go there again.we had a very rude waiter. He gave back our top that we have him! He demanded as we walked out the diner to give him a bigger tip! This is the first time in my life i ever had this happen to me! So mirage you lost a customer we come from Staten island while taking out friend who lives in kings highway. Our diners in staten are more customer oriented. read more

Considering the neighborhood, Mirage is fairly affordable as far as sit-down places, that are not pizza, are concerned. The food is pretty good - not inspiring but not nothing to complain about. I do I really like the Mexican Quesadilla and the chocolate cheese cake though! What I do really appreciate is the service. The man in the over-sized suits (adorable) that runs the front door is always very helpful and eager to find you a good seat. The waiters do their jobs very well, check up on the tables regularly, and are always ready to pour you another cup of coffee. Great service, decent food, very plentiful coffee, and the prices are quite agreeable. I've never hesitated to leave a good tip and I come back pretty much every Sunday read more

We want to thank Billy and his staff for taking very good care of us during the funeral of my mother in law, after the wake and funeral, they had the room set up for us and our guests enjoyed all of the dishes they ordered, food was delicious and the wait staff was very attentive, excellent service! Excellent food! Thank you again and we will see you again when we are back in town read more

If you want to see a reenactment of a scene form My Big Fat Greek Wedding, come here for brunch on Sunday. I came a bunch of times, but Sunday was the worst. That day the food was exceptionally greasy (cold soggy fries). There was a private after-church party right in front of us where they had their own servers. But what really made me lose my appetite, was a baby's diaper being changed in the booth in front of mine. Ever since then, I can't eat there. read more

All I can say is horrible horrible horrible we went there twice me and my wife so here it goes. 1st time it was a Thursday the tall manager wouldn't let us sit where we wanted forced us to sit somewhere else ok fine.We sit Down the waiter middle eastern dark mustache looks like a time ticking bomb he looked very nervous as he took our order and kind of scary spooked us a bit the Cole slaw had a odor, the steak were cooked wrong once again waiter gives us a horrible attitude we pay for it anyways and left. Another time we went early Wednesday morning to get breakfast this time a young waiter with a European accent took our odor kept giving us smirks and felt like he was mocking us.Food was good then again how can you screw up eggs and home fries with toast. Final say food is well you just go to get lucky .The service of the waiters not to good the busboys were pretty nice a Indian one ,and a young white one.The managers horrible don't know what there doing they look at you like your talking a whole different language. Adios Mirage never goinsee you again read more

Great attentive service. Big slices of ham with Belgium waffles. Only the waffles were slightly overdone. Will come back afainto this cozy diner. read more

Very nice place! Family friendly! Kids friendly! Great prices! We love Saturday breakfasts! Very nice atmosphere!

Great diner, open very late and the food was nothing to complain about. There is a parking lot which is convenient. Most diners are similar in terms of food so this one is no exception. The space was clean and the staff was relatively friendly. I appreciate the service and have to say that I was taken care of very well. Once again, the parking lot was fantastic in a neighborhood that otherwise would make it very difficult to find parking whether it is paid for or not. read more

if you like bad food Cooked with absolutely zero care than boy, is this place for you... My butthole is still on fire and I'm writing this close to 12 hours after I've eaten here. The food here has no color, nothing seems fresh, ever. The cooks do not care about the food that they send out. You could tell that there is a conveyer belt type of mindset when it comes to cooking here. Today I ordered two eggs over medium with corned beef hash. The eggs were runny, the corned beef hash looked like cat food, was barely cooked and obviously out of a can. The pickles and coleslaw had no flavor. The best thing about this place is the way it looks from the outside. Looks like something out of a scene from goodfellas, but the food makes it look like something out of a scene from badfellas. No, that movie doesn't exist, but if it did they could film the entire thing at the mirage diner. Do yourself a favor, if you're hungry go to google images and stare at a photo of a juicy cheese burger and then eat your computer because the computer is more fresh than the food that they serve in this dump. read more

Seven friends had an early dinner here. They set up our table quickly, then Danny, our waiter, brought our drinks and starters (2 cole slaw bowls, pickles. pasta salad, warm rolls and assorted crackers), while busboys brought us seltzer or water. We all had a complete dinner, so appetizers were first (stuffed cabbage for me). Then came soup or salad (I had lobster bisque, very thick and tasty). After that, time for our entrees. Mine was the grilled tuna steak, medium well, smothered with fried onions and mushrooms, on a bed of fried rice. Delicious! Could only eat half, took the rest home. Coffee and dessert finished the meal (I was good, and opted for the fruit salad). Wonderful meal...we'll be back for sure. read more

Favorite go to place ! Foods always good and service is amazing ! Definitely recommended!

Love their service. And food very sweet and good people love tje place very neat and thiers always someone to welcome you

The food is ok, but all I ordered was a burger so they can't mess that up too much. The waitresses leave much to be desired. Mine was kind of rude and I felt rushed. read more

For me the best please for weekend brunches in Brooklyn midwood. Love the place, staff very professional and polite. Majority of people work there 10+ years. Old school and high quality. read more

Worst diner food in Brooklyn!! Soggy fries, soggy sandwich roll, hard microwaved spinach pie, old mozzarella sticks, old chicken fingers...I'd give it no stars if I could. read more

My friend and I celebrated the first night of Passover at the Mirage. I loved the tablecloth indicating a special event. The choices of 5 entrees was wonderful. We both had the london broil which was brought to the table exactly as we wanted it - medium rare. It was delicious and we had enough to take home for another meal. The whole meal was wonderful and the combination deserts were excellent. My friend and I enjoy The Mirage and go there often. We'll be back.... read more

Last night I had dinner with my mom at the Mirage Diner. Based on the current reviews, I was not sure what to expect. I am glad that I decided to check it out for myself and form my own opinion. We ordered from the Dinner Specials section. I had the filet mignon and my mom had the tilapia. I have never eaten so much in my life at one sitting. The food was terrific! The service was excellent, our waiter Jose is a gem. The restaurant was clean including the Ladies room. The price was very reasonable for the quality and amount of food served. Overall we had a wonderful and pleasurable experience. I tend to be very picky and hard to please. Therefore, I highly recommend this establishment to anyone that is interested in good food and a good time. I will definitely come back. We look forward to our next visit! read more

there lamb shanks on Sunday are to die for.just super yummy.

I know.... Keep in mind this is diner food. The food is not very good. If you go the best advise is stick to the breakfast menu and sandwiches. Its really hit or miss with them. Then you may ask why do I go there; because they deliver! read more

This place is great, they have typical diner food with great service. Everything I tried tasted fresh.

it's ok but for god sakes do not order bacon, IT'S MICROWAVED! for chicken salads and coffee its alright -_-.

The place with the most character in the city! For food lovers but especially for people lovers!

My boyfriend and I went here after a long day and were starving. We were sat and greeted by someone who brought us water and took our drink order. Him, a Coors light. Me, a vodka and soda. The dude brought me soda, no vodka. We asked him if we could order breakfast any time (we were there about 9pm) and he told us "I don't know I'm not your server". Yeah great but you work here right? Have you ever seen a plate of pancakes leave the kitchen after 11am? Come on man. We waited about 5 more minutes for the Coors light and the server to show but never materialized so we left. With so many other places around I doubt we'll be back. read more

We ordered a few things and I'll break it down for you. I really wanted a good burger so covering all bets that one dish may not be any good, we ordered the "twin burger". the container had one burger with the fries and the lettuce and tomato. There was no onion or any condiment on the burgers. The second burger was in a separate container and no fries or lettuce and tomato. The French fries weren't homemade, they were frozen skinny slices of grease. We also ordered onion rings that were to say the least disgusting! They weren't homemade. The batter was hard as a rock and totally without any flavor; you couldn't even really taste the onion. I think they were really old. One item my husband ordered which I was skeptical of was the Mussels in red sauce. You should never get seafood from a diner! I trust the grocery store mussels more than a diner supply. They were just horrific...enough to immediately throw into the trash. We did get one thing that was good....a slice of apple pie. I think diners should cut down on the menu choices and try to focus on a few delicious items that they can make with fresh homemade love and passion. Carrying a hundred items does not make for a good chef able to produce good food. When will they learn that more isn't always better. Less and done perfectly would be a real money maker if they had any sense. read more
