I found Minted Maids through Yelp and was impressed at first by the list they provided clearly listing the services provided for Deep Cleaning and what the price would be. For our 3000 sq ft home, with a dog, I was originally given a quote just under $400. However, every few days I would receive a confirmation of my upcoming appointment and the price listed would increase! When I went on to the account I had set up, sure enough, additional boxes were checked, specifically + 500 square feet. Of course i unchecked the boxes but if I had not been looking carefully at the confirmations, I would have been unknowingly agreeing to $40 in additional charges. The team sent to our home did arrive on the day scheduled and at the correct time. However, they did not appear to have their own vacuum (they used ours), and I'm not honestly sure if they used their products or ours. Since we scheduled a Deep Cleaning (our home is only 4 years old and very orderly, but we wanted baseboards etc done before a party) we expected the cleaning to take about 4 hours. But the ladies moved so slowly that by late afternoon, over 6 hours after they arrived (!!) we finally had to have them leave as we couldn't stay out any longer. Even after all this time, none of the floors had been mopped so I had to do this myself after they left! I noted that there was detailing done but to skip the basic mopping was not acceptable. I tried reaching out to Minted Maids several times before leaving this review, but received no response except that they would speak to their team. I can not recommend this company and am skeptical about some of the other Yelp reviews which claim they are fast and inexpensive??? Neither of these is true. If you hire this company, watch your bill and plan to be out of your house literally all day. read more

I booked minted maids after reading good reviews, but my own experience was actually pretty disappointing. I was able to book a "deep" cleaning quickly before having a party, which was great, and all the pricing seemed fairly straightforward after completing a list of questions about my home. I did communicate with the owner via Yelp in order to get a small detached room cleaned as well (no bathroom) as an additional bedroom. The cleaning was supposed to be a deep cleaning with an estimated time of 6 hours between all the cleaners. I had 3 cleaners come and they were there for 1 hour total, and I had them go back and fix several things before they left. The bathroom counter was barely wiped (I used my finger to show that the soap ring rubbed off fairly easily and so they re-wiped that one spot), the floor under any raised furniture was not vacuumed (they vacuumed the 3 areas I noticed before they left), I had to ask them to go back and clean inside windows (that I paid extra for and were very clearly dusty). After fixing the things I noticed, I tipped each of the 3 girls $10, but noticed more after they left and wished I hadn't ended up tipping them. I noticed after the fact that no shampoo bottles had been cleaned underneath in the shower, nothing had been moved to clean underneath in general, no door frames or baseboards were cleaned (which is supposed to be part of a deep clean). Overall things were wiped down, but absolutely no scrubbing was involved that I would expect with a deep clean, throughout the house. My old cleaners used to wipe down furniture and chairs in our regular cleans, and after these cleaners left I could even see lots of spots on our white (almost new) bathroom vanity that were not touched. So finally, after they left they charged me for an additional bedroom in our main house that is an open area off the living room we use as a playroom. It literally has a 5 foot wide opening with no doors and no closet, yet somehow they decided it should be charged as an extra bedroom. Communication after the fact seemed reasonable. I was told I would be charged for a standard clean and the extra charge for an additional bedroom would be removed. I only received a credit of $9. So, while it is a convenient set up for cleaning service, there seem to be some serious disconnect between the company, the service that the company states they provide, and the cleaners themselves. I will be looking for someone I hire directly, and pay directly because of this. I do not recommend minted maids. read more

I asked my son to hire a cleaning service/company for me for mother's day. He did his research and hired Minted maids. The house is a disgusting horrible mess, he explained that to the person on the phone. They quoted him a price for deep cleaning approximately 10-12 hours. The cleaners came out and brought 5 people who were here for 2 hours and only did the kitchen, then said they were pulled off the job and would follow up with my son to reschedule. My son had to reach out to them, they tried to say that's what he paid for. Through more negotiations they said my son would need to pay more. He scheduled an additional date, they canceled. Then when they finally came back out they did an additional walk through and said that's not what they were told to do and left AGAIN! My son had negotiate AGAIN! They charged him more money this time for the whole job. But they still didn't do the whole house and what I wanted and left early. My house was never completely cleaned and all at one time. The kitchen the first time was good but it was 5 people for 2 hours but when they came back they did a rushed job in pieces. I feel very bad because my son paid over a $1000 for a crappy cleaning job. read more

We've had our home consistently cleaned by Minted Maids for about 4 months now and we are always happy with the attention to detail. These ladies work really hard and it definitely shows. We are happy to recommend them to all our local friends and family in the Bay Area in need of a cleaning service. I also love that I can text Cathy/Sophia whenever I have any questions and they always respond back professionally and super polite. I was given a time window of their arrival but was constantly kept up to date on when the cleaners would arrive. amazing communication! Was told upon arrival that we will need deep cleaning and that will cost extra. Had few calls with owner and decided on the cost. Honestly I was skeptical that the deep cleaning would help. Maria and May just cleaned my house and I couldn't be happier. I chose Minted Maids because it was the only place I could find where you can schedule online, pay online, and set up recurring appointments (even on a Saturday!). I had a couple questions beforehand and their customer support was incredibly quick to answer everything. The house is now amazingly clean (they even managed to get all the cat fur off the furniture - I didn't even know that was possible!), and even my husband, who was kind of skeptical about having someone come clean, is thrilled with how the house looks and smells now. It's cleaner than when we moved in. We got a standard cleaning for our 3bd/2ba (1100 sq ft) and it took about 2 hours for them to finish. It was the perfect amount of time to go have a little breakfast date and when we got back, they were just finishing up. You do have to secure any pets, so we closed our three cats in a walk-in closet, but the cats were fine with it. Great experience, and we'll definitely stick with the service! read more

Leslie and her team did a great job of cleaning my home, especially the bathroom and kitchen. My home is generally pretty "clean" and organized, to begin with. I just loath housework and am a bit of a perfectionist. Although they were quick and efficient, they didn't rush and paid attention to details. Where a previous team claimed the oven cleaner "stained" the oven (when they actually just forgot to wipe it off - rushing), Leslie left it sparkling clean. They swept and mopped under the oven and behind the refrigerator. Although my bathtub needs resurfacing and the previous team told me it couldn't get white, Iliana cleaned my tub white and detailed the entire bathroom excellently. The floors which are always my main concern were cleaned to my satisfaction. They did everything I asked and were completely done with everything in 2 hours and even swept my porch on the way out. She was very informative and I clearly stood behind her company's reputation. Turns out that was the right decision. The ladies that were dispatched to my home were efficient, effective, and moved expeditiously through my home. Maria and May really cleaned my home. It's just what I wanted. I got the deep cleaning service and the ladies left no wall un-wiped down. They cleaned from the cabinet fronts and the backsplash, to the baseboards and crown molding. My hardwoods haven't been this clean in a while. I highly recommend using this Black woman owned company. I'm on the bi-weekly plan which offer a discount. The price is worth it.My home is cleaned they way I like it and I didn't have to do it. Give this company a try. I'm sure you'll be glad you did. read more
