I scheduled a deep cleaning with Merry Maids today between 12pm and 130pm. The initial deep cleaning was $482 and I paid the $100 deposit towards it a few days ago. I moved alot of furniture, plants and belongings to ensure everything was out of the way the night before and morning of. I got an uneasy feeling as 115pm approached so I called to to make sure everything was ok. I spoke to Irene who told me they were 1 hr behind. She apologized, and was courteous. I didn't receive a call that they were behind, or needed to reschedule and it was unprofessional. They ended up calling and had 2 ladies to my place shortly after 2pm. I had to help the ladies in, and up with their supplies as it looked heavy and there were only two of them (I offered to help when I saw them carrying everything). I had a walkthrough of my place with the Owner of Merry Maids 07/13 and was told there would be a team of 4 people for the initial deep cleaning. He was nice & personable. We talked about the great equipment/cleaning products used specific to Merry Maids (I was concerned when I saw the vaccume cleaner and that mine was pricier.) With two people of course they didn't do the work of 4 people and it took a little over 2 hours. My baseboards weren't cleaned, the kitchen countertops werent cleaned, the tops of doors, ledges weren't cleaned, half the mirrors weren't cleaned, only 1 of the 3 bathroom floors was fully cleaned (And I don't believe they do windows). The two ladies did clean and I don't want to discredit them, when they were short 2 people. The ladies were really nice, and hard workers, and I want to stress that they were short 2 people. They also confirmed that when you have a walkthrough there is a crew of 4 that does the initial deep cleaning, and they didn't know why 4 weren't sent. I have a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom with two sets of stairs. I only had 2 of the three bedrooms cleaned. I wish I could give more stars, but overall I'm disappointed with the service provided. It was a light cleaning at most and it wasn't money well spent on my end. read more

Merry Maids staff is very professional, timely and courteous. They cleaned all baseboards & areas which most cleaning services have missed in the past. Their dispatch method is very helpful as it will let you track the merry maids teams ETA, so you can plan your day accordingly. Getting a house cleaned used to be a headache as you have to find good cleaners with an actual business license (most don't have one, and then you can face liability issues). Each employee goes through a long hiring process which includes reference checks, drug testing, a nationwide criminal history search and a DMV search for DUI's. Up to this point, neither employee has had any accusations of any wrong doing in the customer homes. I questioned them separately and neither one recalls seeing the item. Until the matter is resolved, we will be unable to clean your home. Not clear on anyone doing anything to resolve the issue. read more

She suggested that I have a deep cleaning first, which I agreed. The cleaners came in bringing their own equipment and supplies which make this service very convenient. They did a very good job. The service was easy to schedule at my preferred day and time. The contract was clear and enabled clear communication with the cleaning team. I was able to set a time limit that I was willing to spend and prioritize areas of the house. The team arrived on time and used all their time wisely. They hit every item on my priority list. We have been using Merry Maids to clean our home for over 20 years now and have been very happy with the service. The team that comes to clean is very professional, friendly, honest, and works very hard! They do an excellent job. They never cancel, which has happened to us with other house cleaners that don't have back up. The prices have gone up over time, but we are glad that they pay the women (mostly) a decent wage and we don't see much turnover. We like having the same people come each time. Very overpriced for an o-Kay job. Paid $630 for a full clean out of a house we moved out of. There were still streaks on the floor that weren't t cleaned after mopping and the microwave was still dirty after they charged us a set price to clean it. 5 Stars for a very clean house: I had Merry Maids come in to clean my home and was very impressed when the job was done. They sent in two maids and they were very thorough and professional. The lady that came in to give an estimate was also very nice. I give them 5 stars for the cleaning. The only reason why I am not a regular customer is the cleaning was extremely expensive. The initial cleaning cost $350 for a three bedroom home. My house is not that big. Monthly was going to cost $200. However, you get what you pay for and I was left with a very clean house! Well I can't give you an opinion of their house cleaning, because they didn't have the staff to do the job. In this economy??? My father passed away and I needed the house cleaned for family and friends who were going to come to the service. I called two weeks before I needed the job done. I was to meet the next week for a consultation. I was specific that I had to have the job done by a certain day. The day of the consultation they called and said they could not do the job until a week after I needed it. This gave me only one week to find someone.
