I called Insta Maids to book a cleaning service, and during that call I asked a simple question about five shirts on the floor. I explained that I am disabled and asked whether the cleaner could pick them up. I was told that would require roughly an additional $100 charge. Rather than pay that, I said I would pick the shirts up myself. What should have been a simple booking then turned into repeated attempts to move me to a more expensive service. I eventually booked the standard service online and picked up the five shirts myself. To my surprise, Insta Maids then CANCELLED my appointment because they believed I needed the higher-priced service. They called me while I was working and again tried to discuss the service. I specifically explained that my break was over, I had to go, and I needed to lead a scheduled sales meeting with more than 20 people. When the conversation continued anyway, I ended the call. Then they immediately called me back. Because I had two consecutive calls from an unfamiliar number--and because I have both a seriously ill family member and employees who may repeatedly call in an emergency--I stopped my live Zoom meeting and answered. It was Insta Maids again. I made it very clear that I was working and could not talk. I ended that call as well. Since Insta Maids had cancelled my appointment, I hired another cleaning company. I actually chose a MORE expensive company and booked approximately $300 per week in recurring service. Price wasn't the issue. I simply wanted a company that would take my booking, provide the service, and respect my time. Then this morning an Insta Maids cleaner unexpectedly showed up at my door. I discovered that Insta Maids had reinstated the appointment and charge even though I had never agreed to reinstate the service they had cancelled. When I called, I was told that they had informed me during the previous phone call that they were reinstating the appointment. I had an AI transcript of the call in front of me, and it did not show that statement being made at all. To be completely fair, after listening to the actual recording, it sounds possible that the representative MAY have been beginning to tell me something about the appointment when I cut him off. I had already repeatedly explained that I was leading a meeting and could not continue the conversation. Whatever he was beginning to say, I did not hear a completed statement that my cancelled appointment was being reinstated, and--more importantly--I never agreed to reinstate it. There is an enormous difference between attempting to tell a customer something and obtaining the customer's authorization. I did not authorize Insta Maids to reinstate the service they had cancelled. I did not agree to the reinstated appointment. I did not expect anyone to arrive at my home. By the time they arrived, I already had another cleaning company scheduled for that afternoon. This entire situation could have been avoided by simply respecting two things: 1. When a customer says, "I cannot talk right now," let them go and call back at an appropriate time. 2. When your company cancels a customer's appointment, don't reinstate it and charge the customer's card without clearly obtaining their agreement. They had already made the sale. Somehow they turned a completed sale into a cancellation, multiple unwanted phone calls, an unexpected cleaner at my door, a disputed charge, and a customer who has now taken approximately $10,000 a year in recurring cleaning business elsewhere. In fact, I am paying the competing company a higher rate so I will not pay $15,000 a year. That's an extraordinary amount of unnecessary effort to lose a customer they had already won. read more

I booked them the second time. The first time wasn't bad, they missed spots and I had to call them to come back. The second time: I understand it was a bigger house, but there's a lot of areas they missed. They were in a hurry because they said there's another house they have to clean. I didn't wanna stress about it so I just let their business number know, had to send them a lot of photos for all the areas missed and they came back. (The same team with their Lead to oversee the service) They did much better but disappointingly still missed few areas so I had to clean it myself. I needed to get my childhood home of 46+ years cleaned and ready to show and sell. Alfonso's cleaning team and Memo's carpet cleaning team were assigned and they were awesome! I was so impressed because so many of the areas of the house were dirty and dusty including the carpet but when they were done it was a huge surprise! They were communicative and called to double check about any extras such as cleaning the inside of the oven and fridge. They called me at the end to come back and look at the work before leaving too. I called and booked the apartment move-out cleaning special that they offer. The service costs $420 for a living space less than 2,500 sq. ft and I added patio cleaning for $25. The phone agent automatically applied a Yelp discount code for $25 off the booking, so the total was still $420. Email confirmation noted the cleaners would arrive between 11:00-12:00 PM for my 11:00 AM booking. There was no communication or text/email updates on arrival at 12:45 PM, so I called the corporate number 800-552-5997 and it went to voicemail. They called me back a few minutes later and confirmed the cleaning team was still on their way. They finally arrived at 1:30 PM and apologized with the reason being, "Corporate double booked us." That was annoying because when I doubled checked with the phone agent about availability on Memorial Day, he boasted "Yes, we have 20 cleaning teams operating in your area" OK but they couldn't send 1 team on time? Anyway, the cleaners worked very hard and everything was spotless at the end of the day. I would be willing to give InstaMaids another chance. read more

I've been a loyal customer for the past two years and have used this company for 2 move-in cleanings, 2 move-out cleanings, as well as recurring monthly cleanings since 2024. Up until now, most of my experiences had been positive, which makes this situation even more disappointing. I had a cleaning scheduled for 7:00 AM today, and the company provides a one-hour arrival window. While they've been inconsistent with arrival times in the past--sometimes arriving before the scheduled time and other times 20-30 minutes after the arrival window--due to the inconsistency in arrival times I usually prepare an hour in advance and wait up until 30 minutes past the hour block. I had never experienced a complete no-show until today. By 8:00 AM, nobody had arrived and I had received no communication. I called three different customer service numbers listed on their website, Yelp, and Google, and could not get anyone to answer. I left multiple voicemails, one at 8:00am, another around 8:30am, and then around 9:00am. It wasn't until around 9:00 AM that I was finally able to reach someone after calling one of the numbers like 2-3 times in a row to which I was advised I would get a call back after they tried to reach out to the cleaning team. Even then, I didn't get a call back but I called again and customer service told me they were unable to get ahold of the cleaning crew and could not provide any update on where they were or whether they would be arriving. I canceled my cleaning because at this point I had blocked out my schedule from 6:30am-9:00am in hopes someone would show up. To make matters worse, there was already a hold on my card despite the fact that no cleaners ever showed up. The customer service representative said he would speak with finance about getting it reversed. After waiting for hours with no communication, I canceled the appointment and decided I will not be booking with this company again. Reliability and communication are extremely important, especially when customers plan their day around a scheduled service. It's unfortunate because I had been a repeat customer for about two years, but this experience and the lack of customer service have completely changed my opinion of the company. Instead of the move-in/move-out service I requested a deep cleaning as my apartment needed a lot of love to get things sparkling before my move out inspection. Booking process online was seamless and I appreciated being able to add-on services like oven cleaning. They arrived within 10 minutes of the arrival window ready to go. I told them they could more or less ignore the furniture and focus on the apartment itself. They were very kind the whole way through. They were extremely thorough, even getting to places previous cleaners did not like under the bed. They nicely packed items thrown around in bags for me to sort through which I really appreciate. When finished with each area they asked if I wanted to check the area first for anything missed, another thing I appreciated. They offered to take out trash bags at the end but I told them they did enough and sent them on their way :) They are definitely worth booking and are extremely thorough! I needed a deep cleaning - we never did a proper walk through when we moved in, so with the condition of the place along w/ low-medium cleaning and general maintenance of the place, I knew it was time to book a solid service to clean our 2 bathrooms upstairs. Based on the exchange, it was recommended that I book their 2 hour service. In the 2 hours that they were here (team of two), the upstairs bathrooms were completely revitalized. You can tip via the website when you pay the invoice but I opted for cash tips; $80 per since my bathrooms were large and I understand it wasn't an easy task to do especially if a deep cleaning was needed and selected. Ronnie and I were extremely happy w/ the outcome and would recommend this service if you need to clean your place to move out. I am happy with their work at my dads house. My dad was so impressed with how clean the house looked, especially since it's getting harder for him to clean now. He liked all the random cute bows around the house. Booking: It's pretty easy and through a website. You can see your payments, upcoming cleanings, who's assigned to your cleaning, etc. We paid $270 for 2 people, about 2 hours because it was a deep cleaning. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. I asked the employees after if I can have them come again and if I should just do it on the site and they had no clue. It was pretty clear that they didn't know how the bookings worked and that they just got the jobs sent to them. One spoke english well, so I couldn't tell if it was a language barrier and they just didn't understand what I was asking. With that said, I'm not sure how other staff are like. Mari and Ana were great and nice. They used shoe covers when they entered our house. I walked them through and told them which rooms they didn't need to clean. They text me prior saying staff will be late and if it was okay to push out the time. They ended up coming slightly earlier than the extended time, but it was a nice heads up. Hired them a few times for deep cleanings and regular cleanings because they provided cleanings at cheaper rates than other businesses. While some of cleanings were fine, the different teams of cleaners were not always the best. When people have not been present at the cleaning (or even present in certain rooms) we've come back to disarray (even though would clean up before they came), some kitchen and bathroom surfaces didn't seemed to be cleaned at all, and it felt like carpeted areas weren't always vacuumed. While the service afterwards has been responsive and great (in terms of refunds) would not recommend them to others due to the inconsistency of their services. read more

$850 down the drain. We paid them for a deep cleaning and carpet cleaning for our rental unit. They definitely did not do either the deep cleaning or carpet cleaning. After the first time, the unit was still left with lots of dust, hair, and dirt. We had to have them come again to redo the job, and I don't know what they did the second time they came by but nothing was different. As shown in pictures, it just seems like all they did was vacuum the floor and nothing else. The carpet was definitely not shampooed, and the drawers were not cleaned out, walls were still dirty and spots with grime and dirt were still left untouched. The vents were still filled with dust. I have no idea how they got such a high rating on Yelp but this is to the point I would call it a scam. read more
