We have been CRAVING sushi since the pandemic started so we decided, finally, to get some last night. We had never tried this place before, nor had we ever tried sushi as take-out, so we weren't sure what to expect. The online ordering process was super simple and the order was accurate and was ready on time. We ordered several different things, from sushi to sashimi, a Kani salad, jalapeño appetizer, and rolls. The fish wasn't as fresh-tasting as we'd hoped and I think it probably makes a difference that it wasn't super cold like we would get with a dine-in experience. But it just wasn't great. We thought the jalapeño appetizer was really good, even not being fresh at the table. I'm sure it would be even better freshly fried at the restaurant! The rolls were pretty small. The spicy girl roll was teeny and not spicy at all, which was a little disappointing. The kani salad also lacked some flavor. Overall, nothing was was very flavorful or fresh. I'd be willing to go back once the dining room reopens - maybe it just wasn't great as take-out. Worth a second chance, though. read more

The lunch special here for sushi is the best bang for your buck. 3 rolls for $16.95 - it's not the full sushi menu but it still has a pretty good selection of cooked and uncooked options to suit any taste. We got dinner here and unfortunately, it wasn't really worth it (price wise) for the same meal. Good food, fair prices. The quality of food isn't quite excellent, but I feel the price they have set for their food is decent for the quality you get. I haven't necessarily had a bad experience here. I've ordered many times, ate inside, or took to go. The service is always quick and friendly. Things I don't particularly love include the thick spaghetti noodles used for the teriyaki noodles. Thinner more authentic noodles would be much more enjoyable like the kind they had before covid. The crab rangoon appetizer has also unfortunately turned unenjoyable as well, low quality tasting sauce, as well as only cream cheese (no crab, chives/green onion, or spices like other authentic versions). 1000% would say Mali Thai Bistro has the best tasting crab Rangoon and dipping sauce in Lees summit! However, I do like the sushi, specifically the Boston bay roll, spicy crab roll, tootsie roll, deep fried california roll. The mochi is pretty good as well as the dessert donuts. read more

Got the pick 2 rolls lunch special, with the tootsie roll, snowman roll, and a miso soup. Everything was delicious, food was ready even though I arrived earlier than it said, and the staff was super nice and helpful. I found mint to be kind of middle of the road. Now to be fair, I only got middle of the road rolls. I got the 2 roll lunch special. It's $10 and you get two rolls (your choice from a large selection) and a small onion soup. I chose the California roll and the BHL roll. The California roll was really good and well prepared. The BHL roll which is salmon, avocado, and cream cheese was heavily cream cheese. And when I say heavily, I mean HEAVILY. That is all you could taste. Not good. The staff were all very friend. The restaurant was clean and pretty packed for Wednesday lunch. There was not a long wait even though I didn't call ahead. If I am in the area and decide to try it again, I will definitely try a specialty roll and see if that would change my rating. read more

Honestly, I was skeptical about this place since there were a few reviews that could be fake accounts which all gave 5 stars. Sure they could be legit but from all of those kinds of reviews I've seen in the past, they are most likely fake. Anyways, I met up with 11 others here for lunch. This place opened at 11am and I was the first one of the group to show up on time. I'm the exception to the asian time if anybody knows what that was. The place was small and I would say our group took up a bunch of the restaurant space. The menu had a lot of choices and a page for lunch specials. I decided to order some sushi, hibachi and the Thai food. Under the Lunch special, I ordered the Hibachi Steak ($9.95 would have been $14.95) and the Yellow Curry Chicken ($6.50 would have been $9.95) and the Fire Island Roll ($9.95). I ordered so much because I was hungry and I wouldn't have to drive 35 minutes to try something else. I don't remember what everybody else ordered and I took pictures of everybody's food even though the lighting was not great. Half of our table had miso soup and the other half had onion soup. The onion soup was like any other onion soup I've had. All of our food came out at the same time so it was awhile before anybody got anything. The portion for the Hibachi Steak was about right for one normal person. I only say normal because I ordered two and sushi. I doubt anybody would want to order that much especially at a restaurant they've never been to before. The Hibachi Steak was delicious and I enjoyed it better than I did the Yellow Curry Chicken. The Yellow Curry Chicken was spicy and it was just okay to me. It wasn't the worst but it also wasn't the best. I wasn't asked for any spicy level but I'm sure you can tell them to make it mild. The Fire Island Roll was good and all of their sushi dishes had some kind of design which was cool. I thought it all looked good and they tasted good too. Walked the walk and talked the talk so to speak... lol We were given fried doughballs (I don't know the exact name) for dessert and it was sooo good. This place was a good place for some sushi and was busy around 12:15pm on a Saturday. Come check it out! They have free wifi as well! The wifi password were on all of the walls. read more

This place is doing amazing during Covid. They allow dine in but definitely practice social distancing. They have a fabulous to go menu as well. The Tootsie Roll, the Spider Roll, and the Crab Rangoon are my absolute favorites. Definitely try them out. Tootsie for sure. read more

What an extreme disappointment. From the time you walk in the front door and it just goes downhill from there. Their take-out counter looks utterly ridiculous it looks like they're in a quarantine camp and they are scared to death of any human contact. The sushi quality was inexcusable I've gotten better at the grocery store. Definitely not grocery store prices!! I got my order in the car to look it over something I've learned to do and take out in this day and age! We had ordered several different roles there were exactly one soy sauce one tiny tiny container of ginger and wasabi together. No excuse for that. I went back in and told them I had several rolls and I would need more wasabi and soy sauce he offered me one each again. I told the young man this is ridiculous how was I going to share two tiny condiments with several people. Again he offered me two more tiny ones. They act as if it was gold. Nothing about this experience was good. What a disappointment when I got the food home never never again!! read more

We have ordered online twice in the last 8 weeks or so. Both times, the order wasn't ready until at least 30 minutes after the time indicated in the order confirmation. The food is always good but they seem unable to handle the volume effectively. Quality and presentation vary depending on day or time. First time I tried it was great but pricey compared to others, decided to get more because the jalapeños appetizer was amazing but quality and appearance is just too varying to even keep trying. Sushi had weird taste when tried the 2nd time, though maybe was just the cook so tried again and that time sushi was hard. I give up, too expensive to give another chance, three strikes and you're out. read more

I was here with a friend because we were at an event in another part of the strip mall and needed to eat first. We both like sushi so she suggested we try Mint. When we got inside the place was jam packed with nowhere to sit and wait for service. We were going to get takeout and had to stand in the middle of the main room, in between tables of people eating dinner, while we waited for our order to be ready. It was a really uncomfortable experience. We felt like we were in the way. It took 30 minutes to get our food (yes, with us standing in between the tables that whole time because when we asked them to phone us when it was ready they said they couldn't do that but we could wait outside in the 90 degree heat if we preferred.) . That aside, the sushi was also not good. Some had that funky spoiled fish smell so we chose not to eat that one, and the scallop that I did have was rubbery and gross. After moving here I've been looking for a great Sushi place I could become a regular at. Anytime I've ordered, I've ordered a special roll such as the Spicy Girl Roll, Lee's Summit Roll and Crazy Monkey. Since I haven't gone to dine-in, I'm very familiar with their takeout and delivery options. I've got to say I was less than impressed when the orders arrive. If the soy sauce didn't make a mess in the bag the sushi has already gone semi-cold and is contained inside Styrofoam casing. This ends up making the order look less appetizing and increasing condensation from the steam of the food. Of course, I didn't take the time to check out other places until recently. I've got to say, for the first days of ordering Sushi when I was unaware of other choices it was pretty good. Nothing phenomenal, in fact a bit underwhelming, but overall not terrible. read more

Mint Sushi - Choose 3 lunch special - Japanese Near Me - Lee's Summit, Missouri

I've been to Mint sushi at least half a dozen times usually in groups ranging from 3-15 people. The service has always been most attentive and able to take great care of such a large party for how small the venue is. As can be seen by the couple of photos I've posted the dishes are quite exuberant and come out in varying presentations that are at times just unbelievable pieces of art! This is certainly my #1 go to spot for the Kansas City area as far as sushi is concerned and courtesy of the local Sushi Meetup group I've been able to experience dozens of the ones throughout the KC metro area. I've yet to have a roll that wasn't highly enjoyable and I've been lucky enough to experience I'm guessing over 80% of their rolls. I hope that you have as wonderful of an experience as I've had during my times here as now that I'm no longer in the area this place is sorely missed! read more
