We ordered to go sushi California roll, mixed combo and crab Rangoon. I've been before and food was much better, the last couple of times and it's just not as good. The prices have gone up and quality has gone down. My combo has one shrimp 3 beef chunks and 4 chicken pieces along with crunchy undercooked broccoli and onions. The squash dipped in yummy sauce was the best thing in the order. Crab Rangoon had no flavor sushi just ok. I did make a call to management but I won't be going back. read more

This is my favorite Asian restaurant in Lee's Summit. They deliver in customer service every single time. I remember years ago when my daughter was still a baby, my husband and I had to take turns holding her while standing up because it was the only way to keep her from crying. The owner saw this and offered to hold her for us so we could eat. It was the sweetest thing. The food here is good. My favorite is their salad with their sweet dressing. It pairs well with the saltiness of the hibachi. The food has been consistent every time we've been there. They have a TV on, but the place is fairly quiet as far as noise level. This was the only place we had eaten at together that day. Was really disappointed with the outcome. We ordered carryout Crab Rangoon, Volcano Roll, and Ocean Roll totally $40. The order was completed promptly and food was good. The Ocean Roll had plenty of raw slices of fish (salmon, tuna, and spicy tuna) and was worth the price. The Volcano Roll had too much cream cheese so the shrimp tempura got lost which then made it overpriced. We would come back to try indoor dining next time to get the full experience! read more

My favorite sushi spot in Eastern Jackson Co. The service is fast, food is good! Their bowls are so tasty; the fried rice w/yum yum sauce drizzle is chef's kiss! I love the light, airy crunch of their tempura & tangy tempura sauce. We ordered 6 rolls and were presented with a sushi boat, which made my kids ecstatic! Honestly, it brought back nostalgic childhood memories for myself, because the sushi boat is iconic. Every roll is tasty, but there are definitely more cooked than raw rolls & I like more of the latter. My favorite roll is the Magic Roll, which is topped with seared salmon and has a jalapeno mayo sauce with the perfect amount of zing. They also have many rolls wrapped with soy paper, which is why my husband likes this spot. read more

Started a new family Christmas tradition of eating out on Christmas Day. Tokyo Grill was our first choice due to it close proximity to where we live. This was the first time my wife and I have dine at this location or daughters have had take out several times from here. We started with appetizers, eggrolls and crab rangoon. The eggrolls were OK, a little overcooked which renders an egg roll less desirable for me. The crab who is cooked just right now liver the feeling was a little on the bland side. My daughters head California rolls and Philadelphia rolls and seem to enjoy them. I have the steak hibachi and my son will have the chicken hibachi. Very flavorful in the vegetables were a mix of onion, zucchini and mushrooms. The fried rice was very moist. My wife opted for the chicken bowl which was chicken and fried rice. The dining room has eight tables do the social distancing so it's a small location but nice and clean inside. We definitely will go back and try some of the other dishes. If you're in the lease summit area looking for a Japanese steakhouse flavor, by authentic chefs this is definitely place to try. read more

The crab Rangoon were freshly made and better than most. The egg rolls and edamame were what you would expect. The grilled chicken, steak, and shrimp are prepared in the kitchen and not at your table. They were good but not well seasoned. The teriyaki chicken was better than the other chicken. The fried rice was just OK. It was fried in a round form and didn't have egg, vegetables, or much flavor. Service was friendly and very attentive. Place is relatively small and clean. Prices were reasonable or inexpensive for quality and quantity. I just wish it was spicier. If we return, I'll ask for more spice when I order. Give it a try if you are in the area. read more

I came here with a friend a few days ago. We showed up in our masks but the people inside for some reason allowed large groups in without masks?? They also seated the large group directly next to us - considering the whole place was empty I felt they could have seated them literally anywhere else. The Sushi wasn't bad - I ordered unagi, dumplings and spicy tuna. I got full and it tasted decent but felt unwell as soon as I got home. 24 hours later I was struck with an intense mysterious food-borne illness. I am laying in bed now in some pain after spending an hour in the bathroom. This has left a really bad impression on me from their lack of covid protocol up to their sushi poisoning me. I haven't had anything adventurous since early last year when covid hit. As soon as I go into the world I get food poisoning. Please be cautious. I'm giving 2/5 stars because customer service was okay. At least the staff wore masks. read more

Ok, here's the deal. You walk in, you seat yourself. Don't let this throw you off. You can sit wherever you want (there isn't a ton of seating but it's modern and intimate) and before you know it, someone greets you and asks what you want to drink. All of the sushi rolls are amazing. I have tried the cold and hot rolls. I love there eel sauce, the care they put into the presentation, and how clean and fresh the food is. This place has a great flare for the important stuff, prompt service and deliciously fresh food! Def try the volcano roll. The hibachi grill is just as impressive as the sushi. Crisp veggies and the meat isn't doused in tons of syrup flavored sauces so you can make changes accordingly to the msg/gluten/additives you request if you're an ingredient hag. We stopped in to Tokyo Grill for lunch today no knowing what to expect. The menu has some nice offerings, but we were unsure of how the food is prepared and served? Is it prepared hibachi style where you sit and watch? Is it like the place at the mall where they cook it in front of you? All of our questions were answered. When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly woman who allowed us to choose our table of preference. We sat down and the server took our drink order and provided menus. We were pleasantly surprised at the low prices. The Steak Value bowl is $7.95 for steak and rice. the chicken option is a smidge cheaper. We each ordered a steak dish with fried rice and a one dish also had veggies. The food arrived and looked like one that would be prepared at any hibachi steakhouse. There were chunks of steak on a bed of rice. The texture and taste of the rice was very nice and the meat was very well cooked and tender! I added some ginger sauce to my meal for some additional Japanese steakhouse flavor. The quality of the food is on par with what you get at any of the local hibachi steakhouses. It was quite tasty. The cost savings (and TIME savings) comes in the form of the food being prepared in the kitchen instead of as a performance table-side. I'm glad Tokyo Grill moved into the neighborhood. Came here for dinner and was delighted when we received the steak, chicken and shrimp hibachi with rice, very generous portion, light sauce, perfectly cooked and the shrimp were bigger than I expected! I will order that again for sure! I also enjoyed the specialty salmon roll. Pretty good and I'm happy enough that next time I'll explore more sushi here. We all enjoyed our super casual dinner. It's not a huge place, so may not be good for groups. For families of four or less, a great choice. read more
