Both of our grandparents were born and raised on Oʻahu, and this vintage store brought back so many memories. The owners were incredibly down-to-earth and fun to talk story with. I scored a green palaka shirt that I plan to rock on the beach for Christmas, plus picked up some screen-printed shirts as gifts. There's also an upstairs room with more premium pieces, including collaborations with Japanese brands. Shout out to the cool mom that was buying gifts up there for her son. I've never really been into vintage shopping, but Single Double completely changed my mind. This place was more than just a store- it was an experience, and one I can't wait to revisit.

Yes, you need to have military access to come here and if you have that you're golden! They had some of the best prices I've seen on the island, I found a vintage Def Leppard shirt for $2 and otherwise found really cheap clothes to wear to the beach and work. It was double punch day when we went so I took part in that and gave the card to my friend who is local. All in all, one of my favorite thrift stores on Oahu!

They had vintage Levi's shorts by the barrel (note that the older year sizes run SMALL, so try a few different sizes to get an idea of the right fit). Plenty of cool jackets, tees, hats, dresses, etc. cute aloha men's shirts. The vibe is cool, laid back, good music and they have a fitting room so you can try things on. Vintage sports clothing, memorabilia, accessories, gear, garb, publications and even Astro turf in the store which set the mood! One of the owners came to talk to us about the history of the place and you can tell he was super passionate about the history of the sports in the Hawaiian islands. Super super cool. I've been a Vintage Mu'u collector for 10-15+ years and I was super excited to see their selection of Vintage Mu'u! I took a Lyft to get to South Street from Ala Moana and I was dropped off across the street so I was a bit disoriented at first lol. I had to make sure I was walking in the right direction since there wasn't a big flashy sign. I love the humble lit up sign that said "Alterations" in the window and once I saw a mannequin in window dressed with beautiful Vintage Mu'u, I knew I hit the vintage jackpot lol! It was an adorable store with vintage Knick knacks, accessories, jewelry in glass cases, an alteration station with fabric as you walk through the door, then another section filled with racks of Vintage Mu'u of every size, along with Tops, Palaka Shorts and I also noticed some Outerwear too. I was so excited that I hit the ground running and checked out every rack with my size and collected a good 8-10 or so Mu'u to try on. (I mean I am from Maui so I can't frequent this place much lol!) There were 2 humble dressing rooms with a small basket in the corner for your shoes and belongings. I loved the selection and most of all: the prices. They had vintage 80's-90's to maybe 60's-70's. I did see some rare vintage priced at $150-200+ but for the most part, reasonably priced for carefully curated vintage. I found 3 Mu'u at the end of my Vintage Haul. I scored a Black and Red Manuheali'i Dress (which aunty said everyone adored when it came in so that was definitely a score!) for $110 and 2 other Mu'u's, one was a Made in Hawaii with front bib detail in a cream color for maybe $40 and another Blue Andrade Mu'u for $45. This was definitely worth coming down from Maui. I will definitely be back on my next Oahu trip! The Aunty Owner and her daughter were the sweetest!

Though I had a very small tine frame and the tint shop was crowded so I headed back to my car only to have found Lucky Penny which had been on my "check" list as retail therapy can cost you quite a bit...well for me and with places like Lucky Penny to doesn't have to be that way with some of the items they carry. First of all I've read some of the reviews and understand that you need to place your personal belongings in the locker that I don't mind doing if anything it frees up your hands to swish the price tags around the many items which I love better than a sticker as it just leave more of a mess. One thing I do admit that some of the items are priced a bit higher in comparison to other thrift shops but really couldn't tell which are used and which are "newer" I guess you can say as the tags has two numbers one for the locker and the other the actual price. While I do feel like I'm at a local craft fair as some of the items are very similar with Disney Popsockets, Forever lei charms and lots of hair clips. I did purchase a couple items one happens to be on sale a hair clip for $5 and tote for $10 which is very crafty as it's a sewn cloth into a bag shape tied to a shoulder strap was kind cool and unique as the staff was okay as they don't have to follow you since you put basically everything you have in a locker. It's a matter of what types of folks bring in is the real find as it seems to be on Saturdays but since it's locals supporting locals it's a nice place for anyone to start without going to markets so it's the Lucky find. What a catchy name for a vintage consignment store, right? Each "closet" or shelf/rack area contains merchandise from a local vendor. The items range from Aloha Collection bags and Trader Joe's coolers to dresses from Manuheali'i and Always a-line. I also saw handmade jewelry, gently worn shoes, fancy children's clothing, men's Aloha shirts, designer handbags, etc. The items change weekly, so if you see something you like, grab it! The tags have prices set by each vendor... with their vendor number on the tag. This is such a great concept! Note: there's a bag policy.
