"One of our absolute FAVES in Oahu!!! "…read more Ala Moana Center is hands-down one of our favorite places to visit every time we're in Hawaii . It's the perfect mix of shopping, food, and island vibes -- and the fact that it's open-air makes it even better . Location & Hours: Super convenient and easy to get to, right between Waikiki and downtown Honolulu Most stores are open around 10am-8pm, but restaurant hours vary (some open earlier or close later ). Parking (the BEST part): FREE PARKING!!! Yes -- totally free self-parking with tons of garages all around the mall. There are so many spots, but it does get busy on weekends, so coming earlier is always a good idea . Performances & Entertainment: They often have free live performances like hula dancing and Hawaiian music at the center stage -- such a fun surprise while shopping and a great way to soak in the culture! Best Restaurants & Food: SO many good options Mariposa - great for a sit-down meal Tanaka of Tokyo - always a fun experience Food court - perfect for quick bites Ruscello / CPK - easy and family-friendly Tons of dessert and coffee spots for shopping breaks You could literally eat here all day . Tips & Tricks: Wear comfy shoes -- this place is HUGE Park near the area you plan to shop or eat Come earlier in the day to avoid crowds Make time to just sit, relax, and enjoy the vibe Final Thoughts: Ala Moana Center is always a must-visit for us . Free parking, amazing food, great shopping, and fun performances -- it never disappoints! Whether you're shopping or just strolling, this place always feels like Hawaii .

Hubs is one of those guys who will drive the cart and add what he sees and wants to try, so when I just need one or two things, I leave him home. What can I say, sometimes willy nilly shopping can get expensive! The staff are all friendly and helpful and they have spotlighted areas in Japan which rotate regularly. If you want to know what area they are spotlighting, I suggest getting on the digital mailer so you can see the sales and specials. If you are a fan of wagyu and kurobota pork, this is your spot. It's not completely Chinese per se because, for example, the Food Hall is more global in scope in order to cater to more international tourists. Filipino, Korean, and Thai eateries are next to burger and burrito stands. There's even a Maguro Brothers outlet offering fresh poke bowls and sashimi plates. Chinese delectables, of course, are fully represented here with popular kiosks dedicated to dim sum and Chinese-style BBQ. Adding to the full Chinatown vibe around the corner is the expansive Open Market where local customers shop for fresh meats, produce, and seafood all out on full display.
