Attended their luau here that was booked thru booking.com during my recent Waikīkī stay. While the performers did a great job, I gave it 3 out of 5 stars simply due to the rain that had shortened much of the hula dancing, and I expected more for the price. Disappointed since if they know it frequently rains in Hawaii, they should've been more prepared & already had the canopies set up over our tables. Several dining options at this mall made me smile! I wish I had a much longer vacation to explore more of the eateries here, lol. The food court was decent, offering everything from Hawaiian malasadas at Penny's Waikiki Malasadas to popular spots like L&L Hawaiian Barbecue, Raising Cane's, Panda Express, and more.

If you go to the three Kira stores and make a purchase you get stickers on cards. If you fill it up you get a small surprise. Don't know what it is though.

The…read moreroad work is in its final stages, but you still have to approach the driveway heading Ewa along Dillingham. Today they were featuring products from Okinawa. I love the produce department which features imported produce from Japan. Although pricey the quality and taste are Top Notch. Local produce is fresh and vibrant. The fresh meats and seafoods are replenished daily always fresh. Sales associates and cashiers are always helpful and friendly.

I Heart Marukai…read more Going to Marukai is like being in a candy store for me. Entering the store, my senses are barraged with upteen choices, starting with snacks. Really have to hold myself back as I could subsist on Japanese snacks alone lol. Love that freshly milled rice is available here, amongst the myriad of bagged rice choices. Hot and cold food available here, along with poke bar and food items of regional fairs regularly held here. Getting here may pose a challenge with lane closures due to rail construction. Once you get here, finding parking is usually not an issue (save special holidays). Perhaps tonight I will be dreaming of having a shopping spree at Marukai where I get to consume what I wish to my hearts delight!

Chinese delectables, of course, are fully represented here with popular kiosks dedicated to dim sum and Chinese-style BBQ. Adding to the full Chinatown vibe around the corner is the expansive Open Market where local customers shop for fresh meats, produce, and seafood all out on full display. This seemed like a more local, authentic experience. The food shops in the building here made it feel like I was traveling overseas, from the smaller seating area and the fish market. There is a variety of foods, mostly Filipino, Chinese, Vietnamese, and poke representing. Towards the back there is a fish market, where the fish are so fresh and I guess you could say the displays were beautiful. Outside of the main food court area are some vendors. I didn't get to check out many of them, but they did remind me that of other Chinatown shops in other cities. I loved that this felt so familiar, yet was a new experience!

Single Double is one of the stores that carries Hula Eyewear. There are usually some styles on one of the shelves. But if you ask, they do have some others behind the counter. Both of our grandparents were born and raised on Oʻahu, and this vintage store brought back so many memories. The owners were incredibly down-to-earth and fun to talk story with. I scored a green palaka shirt that I plan to rock on the beach for Christmas, plus picked up some screen-printed shirts as gifts. There's also an upstairs room with more premium pieces, including collaborations with Japanese brands. Shout out to the cool mom that was buying gifts up there for her son. I've never really been into vintage shopping, but Single Double completely changed my mind. This place was more than just a store- it was an experience, and one I can't wait to revisit.
