I've been here numerous times both to sell and buy and this rating is my long due overall review. First, as a seller, please note they do not really give you much for your item. Doesn't matter if your item is brand new. If you're looking to just get rid of stuff and make just something, they are pretty open to buying it. They've pretty much take all my stuff I've brought in. They offer both cash or store credit. If accepting cash, it will be less than what they will give you for store credit. As a tip, I would suggest making an appointment online! Next as a buyer, I do find some neat things. They do need to check on quality maybe a little bit more because I once purchased a scooter and my kid rode it for one day, and it broke. I also purchased items online most recently and when I went to pick up in store after receiving notification my items were ready, the worker took a while to bring my items to me. I knew something was wrong. I had purchased 4 items. Im guessing it was the manager who came out after and told me one of the items actually sold and was not sure why it was still online. Ok fine. Then later told me that they are looking for the items on the floor. I was like what?? If I purchased online, shouldn't it have been pulled already ready for me to receive? Then, they told me another item was sold since it was still on the floor. She assured me my other two items were available. Smh. I asked if this was normal that if you order online and it just gets left on the floor and the worker said sometimes. I was flabbergasted. It was obvious it was not normal cuz the manager interjected and apologized and blamed it on a new worker who was supposed to pull it off the floor before sending the confirmation email but just send the confirmation only. First time here and wow! The selection is great and there is so much to look at! They have furniture as well as tons of clothes and toys. They buy used stuff and also sell so it's like Plato's closet. There was a bin of $1 onesies and I had to look through the whole tub! I got 20 in bigger sizes since we're in 3-6mo right now but are growing fast! Also got a bath tub and she loves it. Since she can sit up now, the bath chair is too precarious. I didn't know about Caterkids until just recently. I've been trying for so long to get rid of my crib. Who knew that it would be so difficult. I mean there was really nothing wrong with the crib and yet no one wanted to buy it. I was selling it for so cheap and still no bites. I was about to just donate it so I called donation centers like Goodwill and asked them if they accept cribs. They don't. They recommended Caterkids. No where else takes it except them. I was about to take it to Caterkids and then someone messaged me that they wanted to buy my crib. They also take other donations and they can buy some of the stuff from you. I just donated. I'm at the point where I'm so tired of looking at it and it's taking up too much space in the house. So I donated a baby bath and a crib liner. After that I took a look around the store. They have A LOT of stuff. Everything you can imagine for a baby or a child. From clothes to shoes to strollers, toys, etc. The prices are pretty decent. If you're lucky, you might find some items that still have original store tags on them. But all the clothing seems to be in good condition. I didn't notice any rips, stains, or tears. They also have a women's section in the back of the store. It has tops and pants. Caterkids is a great place to donate your crib and other baby things. And it's a great place to get other things that you may need. Babies grow so fast so maybe it's better to just buy something second hand since soon they will grow out of it. read more

I've bought multiple times and sold twice. Once was just a bag of clothes and another time was a bag of clothes along with a clean potty trainer. The bag of clothes still had tags on and some used less than a handful of time but not fading at all. They will want you to walk around while they take a look and set aside the items they'll buy. When done, they low ball the "F" out of you and not show you what they took. I was offered $5 cash or $7 store credit for the potty trainer and clothes. Then I check a couple days later on their website, the potty trainer is posted for $10!!! New clothes were posted for $5-$7!!! I couldn't believe it!! Some clothes in their store shouldn't be on the rack due to fading. Yet since it's brand name (volcom, quicksilver, etc.) they'll take it. Went in last week, I walked around and noticed a bunch of the Home Depot workshop kits being sold for $3!!!! Cater kids is a great place to find toys for babies and kids for a great price or you can try to resell some of your items. In the past, I had set up an appt to sell some of my children's stuff but unfortunately they couldn't take the car seats for safety reasons or couldn't find the original price of the items.. nevertheless, I shopped around their store as you can thrift baby toys and necessities in good/great/new condition items. From what I remember seeing, there was a ton of Elmo toys. My kids had too many toys already but I'll keep them in mind. This store is pretty awesome! A lot of the things they sell here are still brand new! I think some things they buy from people and then resell it so makes sense why it's not like a thrift store. The store is very organized and the girls that are working have always been super helpful. They even allow you to hold an item if you pick up in a certain time. That's convenient so you don't have to drop everything right then and there to pick it up. The only down side is there were a few of the higher dollar amount things that they were selling and the exact same item was on Amazon for a little cheaper and brand new. I guess it's a little pricier because you get instant gratification. All in all great place to look for all kinda kid stuff! Oh they also have a shelf outside of free things ... that's amazing. I haven't been to Caterkids in a while, but decided to stop in and see what they had. And I'm glad I did! I appreciate that they are really picky with the things they buy to resell in store. I have been to other shops where the items were stained, ridiculously priced, etc. Not at Caterkids! Everything was neatly organized by clothing size/ type as well as clear aisles! I came in on a day where the shop was empty and it made my shopping experience a lot more mellow. Things were reasonably priced and not insanely high. While other things I really LOVED were on clearance. The fact that they have a clearance rack will make this spot my weekly shopping trip stop! Kids grows through things so fast and I'm glad I saved so much money in here on everything I could need (and don't need, but who ever says no to a good deal? Nobody LOL) for both my toddler and our second baby on the way! And the workers were very sweet. I love when employees don't follow me around a store and are friendly. Also super glad they have things posted online through the site that you can pay for online, then pick up in store. The convenience!! I love thrifting and when I had my first baby this past month I found myself wanting to thrift for baby items becuase you never know if baby will like the things you buy. I love how Caterkids keeps their items clean and is so organized. The online store is easy to use and your order is ready before the end of the day. There's so many great items to choose from. I got a baby carrier, dock a toy, and other things for my baby last week. I'm excited to look at their other items once he starts to get older. I never knew just how many stuff I've accumulated as a parent. I've had my share of barely used clothing, and baby/children's items because they grow out of it so fast. I love that I can sell these items and I can get cash or store credit. Usually I just get cash, but recently I got the store credit since my son is potty training and they had what I was looking for. It's a really quick process about 15 mins. Yes, they are particular about the clothing quality. Sometimes I am surprised at what they don't buy, but I understand that they have to be particular. You are allowed to bring a medium size bag of items to resale at a time. This is probably why they are able to quote a 10-15 minute wait time. 5. Review your items At the end the sales associate told me how much they would buy my items for. She didn't offer to show me what she bought, I had to ask her. Things were sold before COVID started to affect the island and small businesses. My review is an honest review and experience and NOT to hurt any businesses. We sold our things in the beginning of February and decided to finally do a review a couple of months after. If you're going to respond to negative reviews. Please do the same to the other reviews that isnt to your liking and not just mines. "PEOPLE LIKE ME" don't like being blindsided of selling our things for dirt cheap and being flipped for more. Or being told A LPT of items csnt be bought and will be donated to the less fortunate to be later posted on your website to be sold. Merchandise: They have a wide variety of baby items from clothes, toys, books, strollers, baby carrier, etc. Most items are in good condition with some normal wear and tear. Price: The prices of their merchandise are very reasonable. I bought a hardcover book for $1.99 in good condition. I also bought a bag of balls for $5.99 for my daughter's ball pit. Selling: I tried to sell a stroller and a few books my daughter no longer uses that are in good condition. They did not take anything I tried to sell to them. Came here to buy some toys for my baby girl. Caterkids has a website that sells various items online. I checked out the website and saw several toys I wanted to purchase and came to the store instead of buying online. When I got there I showed a friendly staff member the toys I saw online and she went to get the items for me. The store is organized for easy shopping and it was fun looking at the shelves of toys and other items in the store. Most items are used but in good quality. Unfortunately one of the toys I wanted was sold but I was able to purchase the other item. I also picked up some cute shirts (used but in good quality) and bottles (was told all bottles are brand new) for a great price. Friendly helpful staff, I will back to buy more toys and other stuff as my baby gets older. If you check in Yelp, they offer $5 off $20. The only issue is the limited tight parking spaces. When I arrived, someone had haphazardly parked and took two stalls so I had to park one stall over. If anyone reads my post, have some courtesy and park nicely when you shop there. read more

I took my sons walker, sit me up chair, and his stroller in not expecting much maybe 20$ for the walker and $30 for the stroller and about $15-20 for the chair being that they were all in good condition and the walker was actually only used twice but I was offered $5 for the chair and $10 for both the stroller and walker. However I did find a rocker that I had been looking for and it was in good condition so that was a plus but as for selling to this place you could get way more on Facebook not worth it at all and they are NOT honest people while walking around I seen the exact stroller I brought in on sale for $40 yet they only offered m $10 just to resale it and make a $30 profit on a stroller I paid $100 for. read more

Caterkids has become my latest addiction. I am a new mom and my son is 4months old. I love their quality of clothes, toys, and baby gear. I also sold some clothes from our older children as well. They are more selective and precise on what they choose to buy from you. They require that the clothes are not faded, stained, or damaged. The baby gear, strollers, bassinets, play yards all need to be a certain standard for them to sell in their store. Wouldn't you want a store to take this much time and detail with the safety of the products that will be in used for our precious babies? Furthermore, I admire the quality and pride they take in their store and products. It shows in the quality of clothes that the store sells. As I was shopping there the other day, I saw one of the workers hand clean one of the shoes that were about to sell. I was reading some of the prior comments about the cash back amount. We need to remember that this is a family business and a consignment store. I would rather take my clothes here than to Goodwill where it is ridiculously over priced. If you have not been to Caterkids, I suggest you just pop your head in and take a quick look at the place. It is very clean and organized. I bet you won't be walking out there empty handed. This is great business for the sellers and the buyers. I love their user friendly website that allows you to see their inventory and make purchases online. Great place. My wife and I are a month away (more or less!) from our first baby and have gotten lots of options and generated lots of lists of things to buy. We had just bought a bassinet secondhand this morning when that mom mentioned it. Its location is not immediately apparent from the road or even parking lot, but it's next door to an Aloha gas station. We walked in and were pleased to see so many options so well placed and reasonably priced - roughly half what you'd find in a store. Good stuff too, in good condition and nice options to compare against. This store is great in so many ways: good for the wallet, good for the environment, good for shopping (to see and hold stuff rather than looking online), and good for the community. My one complaint is that we just bought a whole bunch of stuff and were told that their brand new loyalty program requires that you sign up beforehand. In other words, we should just return everything (14 days return policy) and then buy it back to get the credit we deserve. Bad policy and one I'd hope they'd reconsider. read more

They have SO MUCH inventory I didn't know what to do with myself. They always have new inventory and the prices are pretty reasonable. Most of their products are in really good condition. There are a few toys with minor scratches but that's really the most damage you will see. I'm surprised to see they have many toys that still have their tags on them. I recently discovered kids consignment. I had no idea it existed. And I wish I knew when I first got pregnant. So of course I had to do my do-diligence with all kids consignment stores. I have great things to say about both. But I favored caterkids. These are a few reasons why... Location: I live in wahiawa so caterkids is easiest to go to Selling items are itemized: if u need to sell something that your kids out grew they will buy your items. The invoice that they make will be itemized. So that u can clearly see what they want for each item (the other store didn't do that.). This was helpful so I can see if I want to let go of a specific item or not. Store credit or cash or both: I love the way you can choose what you want for payment. For example she will give you your quote and separate the 50% (large items and other, pretty much anything that isn't a small toy, clothes or shoes.) from items that are 35% cash, o 45% store credit (clothes, shoes & small toys). So ex. I wanted the cash from the 50% eligible items and store credit for the clothes items 45% that way I get the most out of clothes and the most out of 50% for cash. I hope that makes since. The other store would only do either store credit or cash even though some items are 50% and others 35%. Also they don't itemize. Shopping: if you are looking to buy I'd go here before you go to any big box stores. Because you'll get the same condition of items for at least half the price. I'm a mama on a budget always. Before I knew about kids consignment I would only buy things from the clearance rack at ROSS, last act at macys, good will Mondays $1.99. But I'll go to cater kids first from now on. The clothes are in amazing condition. She will only buy clothes that look brand new. I take great care of my daughter's clothes. I mean no stains no holes. But because of wash wear she will not buy some of the clothes. Its a bummer if your trying to get rid of your clothes, but your greatful when u go to buy new clothes from her. The prices are fair. The best deal I've ever gotten on a dress for my daughter at the box stores is $7. I've gotten dressed in New condition or with tags on still for any where between $3-$5! Cater Kids is a great place to purchase new or gently used items for babies and children at a reasonably lower price than retail. My wife and I have bought from them several times before and the experience was always great. They have an Instagram page where they post what they have in stock and a link to their website as well where customers can purchase items then pick them up later in store (I believe customers have 14 days to pick up the purchased items). Isn't that convenient? What makes Cater Kids even better is they purchase new/gently used baby and children items as well as designer handbags/wallets. My wife sold one of her Kate Spade handbags that she no longer used (which was in great condition) and got cash for it. Of course Cater Kids isn't going to give you retail price for the items you bring in because they have to make money as well to run their business. If you're looking to make ALL of your money back for items you want to sell, then you're better off selling it on Instagram or another selling app. Needless to say, my wife and I will definitely be returning customers of Cater Kids. read more

Checked out their website as I was interested in selling some baby clothes and items my daughter no longer uses. As they recommend, or limit the amount of things you'd like to sell, I went in with freshly washed clothes , couple clothing items that still had tags on them and couple brand new blankets all in my reusable grocery bag....only to come out with pretty much everything but the brand new items and either a bottom or top from outfits that they separated which really annoyed me! Then only offered $15 cash or $20 something in store credit. They offer to 'donate' whatever they don't buy from you...I guess to help take it off your hands.... which I highly doubt because one of the main reasons they deny majority of your things they say is they have too much and/or don't need anymore but in my opinion and this is just my opinion...If you take whatever little they offer AND you leave all your stuff there for them to 'donate', just add your name to the I got suckered list cause they just put back the outfits they originally separated and more of all your good stuff they act like they didn't want but really they wanted but didn't wanna pay I may have had my hopes up a little too high to feel this disappointed and it takes a lot for me to take time to give out nasty grams as I love giving positive feedback more than negative. The last time I've been to caterkids was when they were at their old location at sand island access road. Before that, I've always gone to the pearl highlands location. The newest location is located next to Times waipahu, right behind the mini mart. I drove behind Times and took the second right turn coming from the festival market place side. Now that my kids are all grown, I went in to look at their selection of clothing. So my review will only be of that. My reason for going was to look for shorts for my middle daughter. They had a wide selection of clothing, but not so much as far as shorts for my middle daughter. I did end up buying shorts for the older daughter though since there were some in her size. The pricing was reasonable since it is gently used clothing, but I did notice that certain brands were priced more than others. For example, I found a children's place tip for $2.99-$3.99, while anything roxy/quicksilver/volcom was priced at $5.99. I left with 9 pieces totaling around $32. The cashier did mention a winter sale that took off 15% off my total order. All in all the selection was ok. Prices are cheap. Customer service was non existent since there was no greeting when we entered or even anyone asking if we needed any help. read more
