Food was good, both in amount and taste. I really love their curry tofu spring rolls. Service was pretty quick and the restaurant has lots of windows so it had good lighting.

Nice place to have lunch. They have an outdoor sitting area with heaters so you'll be nice and cozy when it's cold outside. Their vermicelli here was good. Their menu is huge and they also have smoothies as well. Service was good, lots of seating indoor, and located a block away from Berkeley Bowl. Convenient especially if you get hungry after grocery shopping. There's plenty of street parking. Cheers!

I'm happy to report that it's been years since I last had lunch here and although the prices did go up, the quality is still there. The place gets packed during the lunch hour, so much so that I was seated directly across a stranger. However, they decided to move us to separate tables to open up the tables we were at for a larger party. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue and the spice was perfect. The noodles that they use in the bun bo hue was prefect and it had the right amount of meat.

I stumbled this place while I was on my way to the grocery store. My friend had mentioned about this place that her and her family comes here a lot. Location is great easy to find. I do like how there's outdoor setting. I ordered the imperial roll which was really tasty it wasn't overly greasy or taste weird like some places (I also give up on ordering imperial rolls). I also got the coconut shrimp fresh spring rolls without rolls this was my far favorite. It was so light and the dripping sauce that comes with it was light as well. I give that a rating 4/5. I didn't give it a 5 because I had some old pieces of lettuce but it wasn't that bad. Normally I would be grossed out but not this one. Lastly, I ordered chicken pho which was a huge disappointment. I was hoping the broth would have more of a chicken broth flavor like it should be. It tasted like as if it was from a wonton soup broth. I'd come back here again but definitely not ordering the chicken pho again.

*Warning* Mint Leaf has an extensive menu of goodies, you may find yourself revisiting often. I am here for the Eggplant Tofu and it pairs perrrfectly with the coconut rice. This clay pot dish is just as wonderful as I imagined it would be. It is savory and a must try for lovers of eggplant and tofu. The summer roll is refreshing. The coconut batterfried prawns are perfectly coated and fried. The only disappointment is the garlic noodles, I found the noodles are quite hard and dry even after soaking in the fish sauce. Chicken is also leaning on the dry side. I also got an Avocado smoothie, it was good but $8 good? Hm. I need to think about that some more. I will absolutely be back!

Basil was not fresh. This was the only portion that was given for the pho I ordered.

I ordered the special pho and Vietnamese iced coffee via Door Dash for delivery. Pros: -The Vietnamese drip iced coffee was good -generous portion of broth -everything was packed securely Cons: -there was hardly any basil that was given -My photo attached to this review was the only basil that was provided and all the leaves were discolored My rating of 2 stars is based on the quality of ingredients that they provided with their pho topping. This is the first time that I have ever been given discolored basil from a Vietnamese restaurant.

Had one of the best spring rolls of my life here. Other dishes ordered: - beans with shitaki mushrooms ( my other fave - you can find it on the side dishes section) - seafood clay pot - ginger lemonade + Thai ice tea - pho - fresh green papaya salad with prawns. It doesn't matter what one orders because the flavors are so authentic, fresh and finger licking delicious. Will definitely come back!

With my luck, my car would smell like hello kitty for weeks. Anyhow, I found Mẹ Và Con on yelp, a mother-daughter owned resto that opened in 2024. They serve bánh khọt and have outdoor seating so we headed over. Thankfully, we arrived before the Sunday dinner rush (~5:45 pm) and before the parking lot was filled. Rezzies are accepted (via phone). M E N U Viet Cuisine with some elevated, modern twists (no specific regional specialty). Smaller menu than your typical hole-in-the-wall with 25-30 items including AZN fusion items like shrimp ceviche, kimchi pasta and tom yum pasta. Beer, wine, and soju cocktails available. F O O D * Bò Tái Chanh: Beef Carpaccio w/ Thai basil, fried shallot, house tangerine sauce ($18): https://tinyurl.com/nhcn9kxw - Served at dinner only Fresh, tender slices of beef carpaccio with a sweetness from the tangerine sauce and white onions. I appreciate their twist (tangerine sauce instead of nước chấm) but it was too one note for me...IMO, it needed acid and herbs. Plus, I miss the texture of peanuts. * Bánh Khọt: Viet Mini Pancakes w/ shrimp, coconut milk batter, herbs, pickles ($24): https://tinyurl.com/34nx7sat - Served at dinner only Fav dish of the night, the savory bánh khọt was delicately crispy and slightly custardy in the center with a snappy shrimp drizzled with fragrant scallion oil. It came with romaine, mint, and perilla leaves neatly layered for easy wrapping. The lettuce was a bit soft and soggy tho, and I think they forgot the pickled veggies. Served with a tiny portion of tangy sweet nước chấm. * Bò Lúc Lắc: Shaking Beef w/ soy, garlic, onion, cherry tomato, arugula ($26): https://tinyurl.com/3rkpukct Meltingly tender cubes of filet mignon but light on the seasoning and aromatics so it was bland. Also, was hoping for more smoky wok hei flavor. * Thịt Kho Tàu: Braised Pork Belly w/ hard boiled eggs, rice ($21): https://tinyurl.com/mr2evryw - Includes bowl of rice A traditional dish served during Lunar New Year, it symbolizes prosperity, warmth, and stability. Chunks of pork belly are caramelized in sugar and braised in coconut soda and fish sauce - rich, savory with a good ratio of lean meat to fat (4 pieces). Wish they used more braising liquid when warming up, as some pieces were a bit dry. S E R V I C E Warm, friendly hospitality. Food does take awhile tho...our first dish took about 30 minutes to arrive. A M B I A N C E Casual, no-frills indoor area with about 10-12 tables. Cute covered patio in the parking lot with 5 tables and fairy lights. Overall, Mẹ Và Con is a great place to introduce people that are new to Viet cuisine and/or you're looking for Viet dishes with different twist.

It adds so much flavor and makes the whole dish feel extra satisfying. One small tip, I'd recommend asking for a bit more lime with the dipping sauce. The pepper-to-lime ratio leans pretty heavy on the pepper side, and I personally like a little more acidity to cut through the richness of the beef. The eggroll appetizer is also worth mentioning. They come out nice and crispy, and wrapping them in the lettuce with the dipping sauce adds a great contrast in texture and a fresh layer of flavor. It's a simple touch, but it really elevates the dish. The pho is solid and pretty standard, no complaints there, but the shaking beef is definitely the star. The atmosphere is very family-friendly. There were kids playing and interacting with each other, which gave the place a warm, community feel. My little one was a bit shy when some kids came over to say hi, but it was still a welcoming moment. The interior is spacious, so I wouldn't worry about bringing a larger group. And for accessibility, there are a couple of steps at the entrance, but there's a lift on the right side, and a flat entrance in the back for wheelchairs or strollers, which is a nice touch.

It's small, but surprisingly roomy, with quick friendly service and lovely varied art arrayed on the walls in little themed sets. First, i tried their intriguing tart salted plum lemonade! An awakening flavor without overwhelming the meal. What a lovely red-plum color! I loved their bright fresh shrimp spring rolls, (gỏi cuốn tôm) of a generous number of medium-size chilled shrimp, with al-dente vermicelli, crisp fresh bean sprouts, cucumber, and lettuce, competing fresh bright mint and tart pickled shredded daikon and carrots, all wrapped in nearly transparent firm but ready-to-melt rice paper. Besides the nice light crunch of the shrimp, what sets this apart is the savory slightly sweet peanut dipping sauce. I can't get enough! Their fried calamari (Muc Chien) is tender with enough resistance, delicately coated in a simple lightly seasoned salt & pepper thin crust, with a lightly seasoned lemon sauce. You wont find a better lighter calamari. I had their pho chicken (Phở Gà (Bánh Phở Tươi)), tender strips of juicy chicken breast and flat noodles in lightly salty chicken broth, that I garnished from the side-dish of crispy fresh bean sprouts, minty basil, squeezed bright lime, and for me just a touch of fresh jalapeno, cut to bring some heat. Of course you can customize the pho with different meats and broths. It was exactly the fresh gentle lunch i was hoping for.
