I feel an outfit is incomplete without the proper accessories, and even a drab outfit can suddenly become noticeable and appealing with the proper accessories. For example, a black dress with leopard print shoes (or a scarf), some gold statement earrings, and a nice pair of sunglasses suddenly looks timeless. At the same time, I can put my artistic tendencies on display and go with something a little more eccentric, depending on my outfit. I have jewelry in almost every color of the rainbow -- probably over 100 sets (don't judge, some women collect shoes, I collect costume jewelry), and yet I still find myself sometimes needing a new necklace in that lime green shade, because the mint green shade and the forest green shade will not do, because it is not a match. Unfortunately, Claire's seems more aimed at a younger audience, so I guess you can say I outgrew them. I needed something a little more sophisticated than peace sign necklaces in rainbow colors, and happy faces, something that could transition to an elegant, professional look as well. In the meantime, I relied on many Chinese costume jewelry purchases on eBay. And that is how, a store like Charming Charlie comes to the rescue. This store is perfectly organized, and color-coded! You can find what you're looking for within minutes. Want rosegold? There is a rosegold rack. Do you want something red? There is a rack for that too -- not just that, but you're not only limited to jewelry, or a specific shade of red. They also have shoes, dresses, tops, purses (and some are beautiful and look a lot pricier than they are), rings, bracelets, hats, scarves...Can you tell I am really fond of this place? I bought a new iced lemon top and purse. I submitted the purse to a test -- my sister works in fine clothing and when I asked her how much she thought the purse cost, she said "$100." Nope, it was $20. I think I may have converted her to Charming Charlie's as well. At the very least, her interest was piqued. In this day and age, good manners can be hard to come by, so I was extremely impressed with the employees. In particular, Sophie and Claudia stood out. Unfortunately, one of the balloons slipped from my hand and floated straight up to the ceiling. Without hesitation, these two young ladies insisted on getting a ladder to retrieve it and they were successful! They truly went above and beyond. Not only were they incredibly helpful, but they were also pleasant and genuinely interested, even asking about the celebration. I hope their manager reads this. They seem to always have a sale going on which makes their prices very good. They will give you a time when they expect the framing to be finished and they will also call to tell when you can come in to pick up your framing. Today I came in to rewire the back of one of my frames. Jonathan was very helpful and he had no problem doing that for me while I waited.
