I then told them a month ahead of time I was moving out and was made to pay for an entire month two days before I moved out. They then wanted confirmation of my move out so they can rent it again while I had the unit paid for for the entire month. This is $660. extra I've had to pay as well as they're going to re-rent my unit making them another $330. Very greedy practice. The manager was very unhelpful and gaslighted me when I told him I didn't ask for the free month at the time.

If you vacate your space early, you do not get a refund. You pay for the whole month. Every other place I have ever used does prorate their spaces. If I had known before I last paid my rent, I wouldn't have paid it since I was vacating it only a few days later. Rows between buildings are narrow. If you pull up to your space you may get stuck if another renter does the same (often times it's a worker whose business uses the storage there. They have a truck and will set their equipment out in the row blocking others in). Property and elevators are poorly maintained. People have been using the elevators to ride in despite signs saying not to. Then they get locked inside and resort to kicking the metal grills out in order to get out of the elevator. I sliced my arm on one of these grills because the timer on the light for the indoor units shut the lights off. I went to the office with blood running down my arm and they said they would get the grill fixed right away... It took them over a year to fix it. There are so many better places to rent from, places that value their customers and will do right by them. DTC Storage is definitely not one of those places and I'm glad to be out of there!

Everyonr has always been so helpful and never told me they couldn't or wouldn't help me. if I need to make a payment or update payment info, I always have done it with them. Unfortunately, today was not the same experience. I was contacted a few days ago about my account being past due. I missed the initial call, so called back once I noticed that same day. My debit card has been stolen and hadn't received it yet. While on the phone with Danielle, I explained and asked what time frame I have for my new card to come in. She then explained she was on lunch and would call me back. I never received a call back until today. When I explained my situation to her again upon answering my phone that I never received and call days ago when I tried to rectify the situation, she apologized, but left it at that. I asked her again how long I have, and she explained that the late fee is going to be added today. When I asked if there is any way I can not be charged for the late fee since I was waiting for a call back and not being aware of the late fee or online access. She then became upset and her tone then changed to rude and condescending, explained that she will not waive the fee and I "don't have a card anyway". I explained that I was unaware how late the payment was and when the fee would have been added, and that I was asking for this information then. she could have simply told me when the late fee would be added when I initially called her or that I can add a card online and check my account. I've never had to use the online account, so was unaware of it, it I would have resolved this then. I have been on auto payment, and never have had an issue with being helped over the phone with the office staff. She made the excuse that she has 500 customers to deal with and isn't responsible for me making my payment. I asked for a manager because she was being rude, which she responds that she is the manager and that she is not being rude, she's being direct. Danielle is extremely unprofessional and rude. I have worked in customer service for over 20 years, and think Danielle can benefit from some additional training on how to speak to and handle customers. If she simply told me that a late fee would be added on after day 6 or that I can check my account online, when I initially called days ago, none of this would be a problem. I am awaiting a call from someone above her, and I hope they are more respectful and reasonable then she is. This experience has only made me want to move out of my unit to another company.

I absolutely hated this company. Once the promotional period was over, they CONSTANTLY raised the price, for NO reason other than GREED. It seemed to go up by $10 nearly every month. I couldn't wait to get my stuff out of there. Also very annoying: Access ends at 7 pm. This is just stupid. What's the point? Sometimes, you need more time. Other companies have 24-hour access. Also stupid: code required for both the elevator and the exit gate. Yeah, yeah, security, but still a giant pain. And yes, other storage companies also constantly raise their prices. It's a horrible industry, and I will never use a storage unit again. The good: Amazing site manager, Desiree, in Lone Tree. Five stars for her, zero for the company. She's a genuinely kind and helpful person. She listened patiently to my complaints, and helped me when she could. She does an excellent job. The facility is always clean, she's usually in the office to answer the phone or questions, and she's extremely pleasant and personable. I was exceedingly unhappy to get slapped with a late fee because I was told the wrong date, but she tried to fix it for me. Couldn't, but she tried.
