Trigger warning! WARNING!!…read more I had an appointment to pick up my U-Haul trailer, for a three day rental. I was called 24 hours it in advance and asked to come one hour before closing. The business was not prepared to deal with the amount of customers that were present at the same time. When I showed up one hour before closing, all the parking spots were taken. So I pulled as close as I could to the east side of their small parking lot. I went in, I sat down and waited my turn. As Soon as the receptionist finished with her client, the male client left, and she started with her next client, female. Then he(the client whom just check out) returned, asking who drove the vehicle that I was in. I told him that as soon as I could that I would definitely move it for him, because there was no parking Spaces available. He started yelling at me, then someone else (female client) started yelling at me, then the people behind the counter stared yelling at me. Just to be clear I was the only person that was light skinned and blue eyed the entire building. I had to endure such a racial slurs says "white bitch"& "Privileged white bitch". I was told by the Male worker I was being Berate, for standing up for myself. I offered to move, which was denied. I offered to back completely out of the area, which was denied. Eventually the Male client who was screaming at me in the parking lot left. Before he left, he screamed at me. Calling me 'white' and other things. At this time I'm just stunned. I parked and went inside to ask the manager what the next step was. He told me that they refuse to do business with me. A female, being yelled at by a man and woman in the parking lot. I would like all the none Prejudice individuals of our community to understand that this is not a place That I would do business with. I'll pick up my U-Haul from anywhere else in the area except this place. The delivery was on time, and everything was clean and super handy. They even give you labels and some essentials with the package we chose. I also really enjoyed that with renting we had a "time limit" of sorts to encourage us to unpack. Normally we sit around boxes for weeks (some months!) so this pushed us to get it done over a week and it was the best decision. We are much more quickly settled into the space. The team was so pleasant and lovely to work with. We realized we needed a few more days to unpack and they extended our time for a reasonable fee without any issues. I paid it immediately along with the extra cash and a tip. I double checked the invoice after the fact and noticed Raul had made an addition mistake and overcharged me. I notified Laura by text, email, and two voice msgs over the next week asking her to refund the overcharge. Laura never responded!! Raul, his assistant, and Mina did a very good job with the move, but Laura's lack of response is rude, inconsiderate, & unprofessional. I wouldn't use them again or recommend them!

Because this happened 24 hours before our move date, we were backed into a corner and had no choice but to proceed. They changed the price without ever setting foot in our home. The move team arrived at 11am to move a five-bedroom house an hour and a half away. I expressed my frustration to the lead, Mike, until I realized that he was not the same person that pulled the bait and switch pricing. The moving crew was okay. There was definitely on member that was more conscientious than the others. My wife had labeled the rooms at the new house and let them know where items were to go, which was agreed upon ahead of time. As the night went on, they put items wherever they wanted, generally downstairs. There was no attention to any markings on the boxes. So far we've had a broken oscillating fan, a teacup given to our daughter from her grandmother that has passed away as well as a handful of small items. There were loose items that they just crammed into a couple of large boxes that ended up getting bent/damaged. I strongly advise avoiding this company.

We put them in the dumpster and he came out and yelled at us about a $500 fine pointing to the sign about public dumping. Instead of trying to explain, we imply removed the items from the dumpster and left. But, seriously? Throwing trash away as a paying customer is not public dumping - public dumping would be if I climbed the fence and dumped all of my trash there. We were inside the fence. So, you know, don't drink a diet coke and throw it out or blow your nose and throw your kleenex away! What a jack-hole this guy is.

In stead of doing his Job as the manager, he retaliated and took the easy way out by issuing us a move out. This has been escalated to the DM and higher. Fortunately, there are good people within the company, so we have received notification of the policies and commitments surrounding the property from other employees. This further confirms our escalation and complaint on behalf of harassment and retaliatory claims when we have been nothing but ideal clients and assets to the property. Should this continue, we will seek legal remediation. Minus a star for the foot traffic and prying eyes that are innate in this area and the requirement to keep your unit open while working inside, despite Glendale PD advising against this. There's a diverse crowd of vagrants that wanders these parts, lock your belongings up and you should be okay when you're away. I've had a garage unit here and a few different indoor units. Since 2023 and/or prior. As long as you invest in heavy duty locks, you're fine. I've opted to stay away from ground floor units due to the variety of individuals that wander these parts. You never know what you may encounter. With the exception of the outdoor units, which are not ventilated to store vehicles and receive complaints from parking. I thought these were 24/7 access garage units? Not anymore apparently. Zero ventilation - please store your valuables INSIDE. Police presence is heavy; which is good to keep our stuff safe. Glendale PD will occasionally sit in the lot to complete their paperwork, etc. Feels safe with the extra patrols. They also occasionally show up at the hotel across the street. Very good people, Glendale PD. TLDR: Just don't do business with this location due to the Site Manager, Edward Cau. If you do, Invest in quality locks, ensure the safety of you and your belongings while on the property, be aware of the value of your items stored and you should be a okay. COMMUNICATE YOUR INTENTION FOR USE IN WRITING AHEAD OF TIME AND RECEIVE WRITING BACK . That way, if you encounter subsequent violations for spending too much time in the unit you pay for working on your business, you can find alternative remediation in addition to stop giving this place your support and money.

Unlike Public Storage, this place had more than adequate security camera coverage around the facility. The property was always kept clean (bathrooms were spotless) and well-maintained. Also unlike PS, there were plenty of dollies that were always staged near the entrance doors (i.e., I didn't need to wander around the halls looking for one). I'm not sure what triggered the couple of 1 and 2-star reviews here, but reading between the lines, it sounds like they were trying to use the facility in violation of Life Storage's policies. Don't do that, and this place will serve you well.

I have been renting here for a couple years, and it used to be amazing! So amazing that I've told…read moreover a dozen of my colleagues in the trades about it and they started renting there. Unfortunately there is a new woman running the place and she is terrible. The quality of the grounds has been declining since she took over. Large garbage items sit outside of units for days or weeks. The alleys don't get plowed every time it snows , and they stopped putting down salt (both things they did when the other gentleman managed the place), so it gets icy . I have to put my own salt down in front of my unit so I don't slip on ice when I'm trying to get heavy tools and materials before work. The biggest issue is security. One of the gates has been broken and left wide open at all times, for anyone walking down the street to see and come in at any hour. When I asked about this I got rude emails back. When I asked to speak to someone higher up than her, she refused to give me anyone's info.... Who do you talk to about a problem when the problem is the manager? When I mentioned to her that the quality of the facility was declining, she got petty and went back though records to "call me out" on things she perceives as issues. I was told there is a service call in, but the gate is left swung wide open at night, and has been for days, how long does it really take to get a locksmith out???? They make no effort to secure the facility when they are closed. As soon as I have time in my schedule I will be moving to a more secure facility, with friendlier staff. If this is how much this place has declined in just a few months, I don't want to sit around and see how bad it will really get. The owners should really think about finding someone better to manage this facility, especially at the prices they charge.
