This place is not what they reviews make it seem. Thought I would try it out because they had a big line. To my surprise it was not good. I got the buffalo chicken wings they were not fried enough were very dry and just had a drizzle of buffalo sauce. My daughter got the chicken burgers with fries, the burgers were dry and flavorless. Fries were probably the best. The wife got the chicken strips and they were ok no flavor at all.

Not bad little burgers. My son was starving one evening before Cubscouts, so I knew there were about 4 food trucks right near the Orinda Library. We walked down and grabbed 4 sliders. Two for Brayden and two for Brooklyn. Yes my 19 month old can chow down. Well... she at the majority of the french fries. Great food truck, the food was delivered fast and all were happy.

From the outside, it looks like a straightforward taco truck, but wow was I surprised. I ordered the Carnitas Super Taco, which came loaded with lettuce, cheese, cilantro, onions, sour cream, and guacamole. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and packed with flavor. My only complaint? You only get one taco per order because I definitely could've eaten another. The Kid ordered the Carne Asada Super Taco and before we even pulled away, she was asking for a second one. That's usually a pretty good sign. We also tried the horchata and jamaica, and both were delicious. The horchata was creamy and flavorful, while the jamaica was refreshing and not overly sweet. What surprised me most was how quickly they got the food out, especially considering how popular this spot seems to be. A few things to know: * Cash or Venmo only * Parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it * Keep an eye out for the new speed cameras in the area Their hours are another plus: Open daily, 9:30am- midnight Overall, this was one of those pleasant surprises that reminds you not to judge a place by appearances. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

No tables and chairs outside - just pure to-go. Parking is limited to street parking with many of the spaces taken by Lake Merritt visitors. There was a constant flow of customers when I went during non-peak dining hours, so I'd assume that they have lines during other times. The steak fries were a bit bland with too much sour cream and less of everything else making the fries a bit soggy. The sauces did a lot of the heavy lifting to make this dish a bit more enjoyable. I would definitely come back to try their burritos and tacos - which are what they are most known for (I just was craving steak fries that day). There must be a reason why locals love this food truck!

I am not a BBQ fanatic, but I have been to Texas a few times. This would hold up to some of the best and I found it less salty. I like how the sauces are on the side so I can control the dip or no dip. A note - it's super rich, use the spicy mustard sauce and pickled veg to balance. Though all of it is tender enough to go sauceless.

Extremely hyped... and unfortunately fell pretty flat…read more I really wanted to like this place. I'm usually pretty forgiving with local food spots, especially a small BBQ operation where I know things sell out and everyone's working hard. But this was a rough experience. ---- Pros ---- Jalapeno cheese sausage: Smoky, spicy, and delicious! Definitely recommended. Coleslaw: Unique with what I'm assuming is an Indonesian twist. Nice sweetness and interesting textures. Staff: Friendly and apologetic once we got our orders. The line was mostly shaded, which helped. ---- Cons ---- We waited 1 hour and 45 minutes. During that time, the dino ribs, beef cheeks, and beef ribs sold out. We stayed for the brisket... then the brisket sold out right before we reached the counter by a customer that bought 3 lbs. I completely understand that popular BBQ spots sell out, especially on a sunny Saturday. That wasn't really my issue. The communication was. The inventory sign out front is supposed to show what's left, but they stopped updating it before we even got in line. We watched multiple people wait nearly two hours, only to find out at the register that the item they wanted had already sold out. Updating the board every 20 or 30 minutes would've saved a lot of people a long wait. We decided to order anyway. By then the lumpia had sold out too, though the cashier didn't know yet. After almost two hours, our order ended up being one sausage, one chicken leg, and coleslaw. The chicken leg was unfortunately dry, overcooked, and bland inside. It had a little smokiness, but was disappointing. The coleslaw started strong but became one-dimensional after a few bites. BBQ sauces were standard. Avoid this one, even if it's what they have left. ---- Overall ---- I appreciate how friendly and apologetic the staff was. They're clearly trying hard. But between the long wait, lack of communication, sold out menu, and food we actually received, the experience didn't live up to the hype. I'd only recommend coming very early if you're set on the popular items. Based on what we were actually able to eat, it just wasn't worth the wait for us.

We arrived a few minutes after 2pm. We asked for an outside table because we had the dog with us. After being seated with menus and water, we were told that we could order via QR Code or go inside to order. I placed our order via QR Code and paid using an app. Our server was very nice and brought both water and then after asking us, bacon for the dog, which she greatly appreciated. Our entrees were served to us at our table. She got Kai's Plate Lunch with Teriyaki Chicken and Kalua Pork with Fried Rice and a Lilikoi Lemonade to drink. Her order also came with a bowl of Tutu's Mac Salad which was made with spaghetti noodles. I had Syd's Loco Moco with Burger, Portuguese Sausage, two Eggs Over Easy and Gravy on top of Fried Rice. We both enjoyed our meals with the understanding that we would be thirsty for the rest of the day. I found my hamburger, Portuguese Sausage and gravy to be salty. The fried rice was surprisingly good with edamame and bits of red pepper in it. My two Over Easy Eggs were Over Medium as the yolk didn't really run when split open. She said that her Kalua Pork was extremely dry and the Chicken had apparently been marinated for a long time (salty). We both found the Mac Salad interesting. We think we've had this style before but aren't sure. Short spaghetti noodles instead of elbow macaroni and possibly vinegar added. Neither of us was able to finish our order. My wife went inside to get a single clam shell for our leftovers. She was gone quite a long time and when I asked what took so long, she said that the cashier had a hard time getting the receipt out of the printer (lightbulb moment!). I asked if she had paid the bill and she had. I asked to see her receipt and it was for a different amount than what I had paid. I realized the difference was that she had not been charged the $6 upcharge for the second meat on her plate. That also caused an adjustment to the sales tax and gratuity. I told our server that I was afraid that we were going to end up being double charged (this is where i failed miserably). The receipts had two different numbers on them. One was for $70.xx and the other was for $55.xx. The server told me to look at my online receipt and then the in-house receipt. the in- house receipt did not show the last four digits of MY credit card. Of course not, it showed my wife's credit card, which I did not look at until we got home. And of course, when we called the restaurant, they were closed. I never went inside but enjoyed our space outside with Hawaiian Music playing. Loved the vibes but the menu is small and too sodium rich for me.

My first time here after they started having this again, they only had 3-4 trucks. They also have the same trucks week after week. I got over my fear when Shakeel, the Market Ambassador at that time convince me to come. Even the other Market Ambassador Elon kept me company making sure I was OK at the market. I will admit every Friday Night I am at Off the Grid outside the Oakland Museum of California. I will admit I overdid it by checking out the exhibits at the museum weekly where I made a friend Preston, the Emcee at the Oakland Museum of California. Over 10 different food trucks to chose from. The highest food trucks they had at the market was up to 20 during the summer time. It is worth coming down to Oakland Museum to see all the different food trucks they have. I will admit I miss the past Market supervisor that ran the market (Adam, Alex, Paul, Henley, whomever ran the market that I can not remember their names). Ben, the current supervisor got this market running smoothly. I been enjoying the market. What makes this market to go to on Friday Night compared to going to Fort Mason is discount on museum tickets. You have a museum to go to while getting food from the food trucks. They also have a garden where children can run around in. The live music at the Oakland Museum of California is amazing. It is worth checking it out. This is the market to check out Friday Night.
